The only reason I'm giving this particular Starbucks, a star is because the staff is impeccable. I think it's mismanaged. Anytime there is a new drink or a promotion, they are frequently out of the components necessary to create that beverage. The s'mores Frappuccino, for instance every week, almost as sure as death and taxes they are out of the ingredients to make this beverage and if they do have ingredients to make the beverage sometimes it is to spec and sometimes you get what you get. Pictured below is a couple of those instances where I received not the s'mores Frappuccino but some type of Frankenstein they thought was the s'mores Frappuccino. It's off the highway so it's going to garner business however, like myself if you're from New London, I would highly recommend going across the bridge to Groton, where you know you can get your order every time and accurately. read more

I had an unfortunate experience at this place today, and I have been several times. Because it's always just been so-so, I am giving the overall rating of 3. The staff wasn't friendly at all, barely saying "hello", and when I got my drink and my husband's, the cups were leaking from the lid. I pointed this out and they got new lids and wiped the cups down, but all I got was an unfriendly, half-hearted "sorry 'bout that." The cups continued leaking ALL the way through the mall, and ALL the way home. The worst was when I finally got home and tried the coffee, it was awful. Watery, I don't think they even used the syrup I requested. No flavor at all. I usually go to the Groton Poquonnock road location, and they make a great cup of coffee. It's unfortunate that this location didn't keep up to standard in terms of service or quality. This particular location doesn't accept rewards, either. I would save your money and go to the Groton location instead, or Panera or Books A Million across the street. read more

The absolute worst -- and for no reason but simple narcissistic self-indulgence. 10 minutes or more, in a line with one other order, simply because the 3 people behind the counter wouldn't stop talking. You literally could have said, "squirrel" and the 3 of them would have stopped, spent 10 minutes exchanging faux upbeat nonsense squirrel stories before going back to twiddling cups and pitchers to no real result. The drink that took 10+ minutes from 3 people? Green tea with ice and nada mas in a small cup. Oh, and the lid wasn't actually on the container -- which was discovered when I went to drink it. Go here if you have an inordinate amount of time to watch paid staff verbally diddle themselves . Otherwise, do anything else. I'd rather drink my own sweat than revisit this village and its idiots. read more

So let me start by saying the customer service here was fine. I was greeted, served well, and they had what I ordered. The reason I am giving them one star is for one reason and one reason only. I always order a cafe misto. For those of you not educated in this item, it is drip coffee with steamed milk. I got the Komodo Dragon Blend (bold coffee) for the full flavor to go with the steamed milk. Usually, drip coffee at Starbucks is done decently and you can count on a good cup of coffee. A venti misto is cheaper than a latte and honestly has more coffee in it and more taste than frothy milk. The problem with my misto was that the coffee had definitely sat for a long time, burned in the pot, and the char taste in my mouth after a sip made me wish I got a latte or put a cigarette out on my tongue to get rid of the taste. Pretty solid Starbucks. They don't accept star rewards unless they're for your birthday. So keep that in mind. The people are super friendly and never act like making your coffee is a hassle. This is my go-to Starbucks in the area. read more

I go to Starbucks very regularly.... this location the staff is SUPPPPER RUDE. Slap your happy face on people. Management needs some employees who WANT to work.... quit hiring the kids who think their too good to smile at a customer purchasing an item from your store. Go to a different coffee shop. Customer service is everything. And employees- it could be worse. A smile and kindness goes a long way. read more

The last two times I was in here the latte was terrible. Tasted burnt. Today the latte was perfect. Customer service still needs help. Maybe training, they are unfriendly even though not very busy. read more

Can't go wrong. Starbucks is my favorite. I didn't have to wait very long. The coffee was made correctly. Really don't have too much to say.

Love this place anywhere else except for this specific location. The managers are very rude and not helpful at all. The seasonal highschool employees were 10x better and overall nicer than the managers are. read more

this is the best Starbucks I've been to.. they are so efficient - the line will be out the door and within two minutes someone is taking my order. such friendly faces behind the counter and said faces work very well together. read more
