Small location but items just as delicious. Lose a star for not knowing where to park. Gotta go around the block. First timers to this location won't know Loved the pecan cookie. Will never buy a chocolate chip from them when this one is available. The pistachio croissant was AMAZING. Wish it had a tad bit more cream inside but another do not miss.

We had visited the Mystic location before and liked it, but long lines, tourist crowds, traffic, and parking issues deterred us from coming back. This Niantic/East Lyme location has a much different vibe. The shop is smaller and more intimate and the service was excellent. The views of the water and horizon are spectacular. There are a few tables inside and out. The display of baked goods and sweets are eye catching, and we are happy to say that all the items we chose also tasted phenomenal. We left with peanut butter cookies, a chocolate chip cookie, a four chocolate brownie, a magnificent and gorgeous pistachio croissant filled with pistachio cream, and a rye and a sourdough bread. Every item was fresh and so amazing. We would highly recommend and plan to return often. Limited parking.

I'm so glad we decided to stop into Sift. The store is well lit and the food display is like art. We ordered a latte and 2 croissants. The latte was creamy and very well balanced it was definitely made with quality espresso. When ever I see a chocolate croissant I have to try them. These were in my top 5 ever, the Chocolate was melted and the croissant was flaky fluffy and delicious. But the winner was the ham and cheese croissant, the cheese had crispy edges on the outside and it was a savory flavor explosion. There was a line, but the staff was very efficient and we were taken care of very quickly.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after finding a parking spot about a half block away, not the most convenient parking situation but it was a nice day so not wholly inconvenient. It was busy but I got my order in pretty quickly and it was out in less than 10 min. I got a Matcha made with earl grey tea, ham & cheese quiche, key lime cheesecake, and lemon tart. The quiche I highly recommend. The key lime was really good but could have been a little more tart for my taste. I enjoyed the lemon tart but I think it looked better than it tasted, maybe a little too spongey on the inside for me. All were pretty tasty and I'd definitely return as they have a fantastic dessert selection.

Stopped at the bake shop while on my last trip to Mohegan Sun with my husband. We have been dying to try it but when we go to Mystic it's always so busy, so it was amazing to see they opened their shop in Mohegan. We got a mix of things, but my favorite was the regular croissant. It was so light but also full of delicious butteryness. I could eat this everyday. I would definitely recommend trying this shop for your next baked good treat!

While on a rare weekend away with my hubby last month, stumbled upon this baked goods emporium - the line out the door was indicative of the treats that we were in for. Gracious and welcoming service, bright & elegant interior and a beautifully prepared array of pastries, sandwiches, salads and sweets. Quality and pride in presentation are evident; the cookies, croissants, chicken salad sandwich, macarons and pastries (we might've overindulged - a lot!) were spectacular. All were on par with those I've had in Paris, Vienna and NYC. This NYC gal will be taking a periodic two hour road trip to enjoy Sift's delicacies!

Spent a Sunday walking the boardwalk and had a nice surprise to find Sift Bakeshop in Niantic. It's located in a nice strip where a few shops are located. There's a few tables outside to sit and enjoy Sift delights. It's so pretty to enjoy the snd relax. It's not quite as big as the one in Mystic but it sells cookies and sandwiches and all the delicious goodies. The croissant that we bought was actually for my dad. He enjoyed it and had enough for 2 days! The filling was so a soft , it was an almond filling. Not overly sweet at all. Perfect with a cup of coffee! If you are in the area stop by for something sweet to take home or to have for lunch ! It's a must try!

We love stopping by the Sift Bake Shop in Niantic for late lunch, pastries and coffee. The smoked salmon croissant and the mushroom quiche are our lunch go-tos year round. So filling and full of flavor, but we always save room for dessert. This trip we got the gorgeous raspberry & chocolate croissant and cheese & guava danish. We chased down the sweetness with vanilla lavender and cookies n' cream iced lattes. Sift Bake Shop never disappoints and we always make a visit every season to try new or seasonal offerings. From fresh baked breads, baguettes, cookies, macarons, tarts, cakes and more, there is always something to bring home to enjoy later. The staff is always so helpful, knowledgeable and take great care when it comes to food allergies. The shop is always busy, but we never feel rushed. There are a few tables and chairs in the front of the shop to enjoy lunch. It's best to go on a warm day as it over looks the beach and you'll get the ocean's breeze. We personally like to go mid afternoon and miss the lunch rush. Someday we will visit Sift's Mystic shop, but for now we love the Niantic location. Here is a tip: there is parking on the backside of the building that most folks don't know about. The parking lot can't be accessed from the front of the building and you will need to drive down the street and around to find it. Hope this helps!

Everything looked beautiful, but there were some hits and misses. You enter the shop and immediately line up to order. Although there was a long line, the staff kept it moving very well. They have a cookie/brownie section, breads/muffins/croissants section, incredible french pastry case, and finally the macarons. They were continually bringing out fresh baked goods to fill the shelves, as everything was selling fast. The dark chocolate chip, walnut, and sea salt cookie was amazing (and huge). The cookies are the perfect size to share. Macarons were less impressive. The filling was too sweet and tasted artificial. We bought some brioche bread for french toast lovers in the family. They also offer sandwiches and a full coffee bar. Had it not been pouring, they have a beautiful outdoor patio.

Sift is in my places to visit list (around Mystic) since I heard it's among (if not, the most) popular bakeries in Connecticut. I had never got a chance until yesterday when we stopped by on the way to Providence. It's located near a beautiful beach with amazing views. Too bad, we were visiting on a rainy cold day! I can imagine this place being super crowded during the summer. They have parking options on Grand Street and it's just a few steps to walk to the store. The employees were super friendly and their online ordering is convenient. We could order ahead and schedule it for any later day. My group loved the veggie croissant and cake slices.

Beautiful location! After a nice and long walk on the Niantic Boardwalk we wanted to stop and take a quick break before heading back home. Short line inside that moved fast. Nice selection of baked goods and more. We opted for 2 lemonades and shared an almond croissant and avocado toast . The service was fast and friendly and the ambiance has European sea towns vibes. I wished our lemonades had some pulp and tasted more homemade. I will try a different croissant next time. The almond one was too creamy for me, maybe not the best choice when it's hot and humid outside. The avocado toast was decent but nothing spectacular. We will definitely return to try more items from the menu and enjoy the view.

Not much seating inside, but they have a large patio space out front!

Service was very friendly and the pastries were delicious (and very reasonably priced!). I've been here twice, and it's much calmer than the Mystic location. Definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a pecan bun and ham+cheese croissant.

A fresh, hot Americano, and some pastry are a great way to spend the afternoon looking over Niantic Bay.

I love an afternoon coffee. We frequent the Sift in Mystic, and had the opportunity to try their Niantic location. As usual, they hit it out of the park. The staff is prototypical friendly. I don't think they hire anyone who's not over the top friendly. My Americano was perfect. My wife's lemonade was fresh and appropriately tart. We shared a chocolate chip cookie (lemonade was a bad choice on her part) a chocolate croissant, and a cinnamon sugar brioche-like muffin thing. Everything was delicious. A high top table over looking Niantic Bay, on the sidewalk watching the world go by made it really great!

December 2025 Yikes!…read moreThis place is not where you come for hot cocoa or hot tea. There are too many choices in the area to buy a good quality hot drink. This is not. The service was horrendous. My drink was four dollars and I got charged a dollar more for no reason. Making it five dollars. The drink was not hot and tasted more like water than hot cocoa. We asked for it to be heated up and they said they could not do that. They told us the half-and-half makes the hot chocolate cooler than if we were to order just hot chocolate with water. I thought that was a problem. But then I had to deal with the rude attitude of two of their employees. When we told them that our drink was not hot and asked them to heat it up, they told us that they could not do so. They said they would have to remake it and they could just put hot water in with no cream. The snippy, sassy attitude was not appreciated. The adorable ambience of the teahouse is worth a visit. More of a walk-through. But I would never come here again with the attitude of two of their female employees. I can't imagine if I was rude to them how much worse they would have treated me. There are too many choices in this cute village to spend your money. Save it. Do not come here.
