Seems like everyone that works at this location is on a Sunday drive. I actually had to cancel my order and get a refund because of how long it was taking for a simple iced coffee. 4 people were in line ahead of me, that took about 20 minutes. Once I finally got to the register, the girl told me she'd be right with me and proceeded to make 5 sandwiches while I stood and waited another 10 minutes. After I finally placed my order I had to cancel after another 10-15 minutes as I have a job to get back to. Other employees walking around emptying garbages but not stepping in to assist taking orders or helping the clearly new guy making coffee that couldn't find anything. Whenever I come home to visit I come here for my fix. This location is larger, roomier and have lots of free parking. Leave the West Hartford Center location and come here. There's just one problem I have here today is it's very cold in here and it's not that cold outside, just a bit of rain. Looking for a caffeine fix I headed to this location. Very busy for a Tuesday afternoon - lots of people of all ages working in the open seating area that contains plenty of seats. There is also an outdoor patio, and although it faces Albany Avenue (which is pretty busy) - it's an option for those nice sunny days. The baristas behind the counter were very pleasant and although there were some pretty complicated orders in front of me - my drink was made relatively fast and I was told to "have a nice day" when I went up to grab it. Kudos for customer service! This location does not have a drive thru and parking can be tricky (spots are at an angle and it shares a parking lot with Crown Market (a grocery store) but it is clean and easy to get to from the main roadway. read more

Without a doubt the best Starbucks in the area. Whenever I have an urge for a handcrafted beverage or a free drink from the rewards program, I try to get it here as the baristas make the consistently tastiest beverages at this location. (And I've been to all of the Starbucks shops in the immediate area!!) My usual is the chai tea latte, and it is usually steamed to perfection at this Starbucks. A blast of sweet flavors hits your mouth at first sip. Often I have to be careful not to burn my tongue as it is made so good here. The only other Starbucks that has consistently has good and high quality drinks like this West Hartford location is the Silas Dean Highway or Wethersfield location [near CVS, across from Bed Bath & Beyond]. The staff is typically very efficient and makes drinks quickly and skillfully. One barista, Sam, is always friendly and kind and working his hardest. The staff here has proven, time and again, to be friendly and efficient, making great tasting concoctions. The only shortcoming of this Starbucks is that it can get quite crowded, even on off times like 11:30am or 7:30pm. There are often not enough places to sit and enjoy your tasty beverage as there are only a handful of individual tables, a small booth area, and a long table with numerous chairs. It has often turned into a game of table watching for me and my friends during our brief wait for our drinks to see who is getting up so we can sit. Above all, this Starbucks has the best, highest quality, and consistency in its beverages as well as a friendly and efficient staff. Typical Starbucks stuff. This is a GREAT place to do work. It has lots of seating inside and outside (great for warm weather). Lots of outlets on the floor in the front of the place under a big long wooden table and there are some other outlets scattered around the store. I come here a lot to sit for hours to do work. Very calm and open atmosphere. Food is typical starbucks coffee shop food. Pretty well stocked until late at night. Friendly employees. This is my preferred Starbucks in the area. The workers are normally friendly. The place is usually really busy, but it moves pretty efficiently. I prefer the new layout to the old one. Parking isn't too bad, as long as you don't mind walking a tiny bit (it's better than trying to park in WH center). It's also next to my dry cleaners and across the street from the post office and ups store, and near a Whole Foods, so it makes knocking a few errands off the list pretty easy. My biggest piece of feedback for this location would be to improve the way they handle mobile orders. They keep them in the far back corner and just periodically shout out names. Is it possible to just line the up on the counter with tickets or something? It seems I always arrive at just the wrong time, after my order has been called the first time, and then I have to try to get someone's attention for a few minutes or wait until they circle back to recall all the remaining names. read more

In this visit she made it TWICE and still got it wrong even though the order is printed clearly on a label on the cup. If a drink costs four bucks ishould be prepared right the first time. Although I might not be a huge Starbucks fan, I went into this location often because I knew a lot of the employees that worked there. The employees I didn't know were also really friendly. They were really awesome and treated us well. We probably went in here a few times a week. Elsewhere I've called for two lines at Starbucks: more than one component to the right ("venti soy chai latte"), adults to the left ("small dark roast," or heaven forbid "double espresso"). The line to the left is short and fast. Now to this location. West Hartford: two Whole Foods, two Starbucks (three if you count the one by Sears, but is that really West Hartford?) and at this one, as at EVERY OTHER STARBUCKS IN THE NATION, all of the above applies. But - it's got decent in and out, their latest reconfiguration handles a line pretty well, and when treated with respect the folks behind the counter are lovely. If one were to grade on a Starbucks-specific curve, this store would get five stars. But I still can't help comparing it, and every other Starbucks I enter, to my local in the Place Victor Hugo. Yes, here at rush hour you will deal with the yoga pants, the hipster, the pensioner with combover and Florida-plate-bearing Mercedes, the loud wench. Large Starbucks! Don't waste your time with the West Hartford Center Starbucks, this one is a lot larger and you're guaranteed parking! The service is okay, not the friendliest staff but drinks are pretty consistent. The ambience is a little darker and quieter, you definitely find the majority of the crowd on their laptops studying. If you're looking for a good study spot, I'd definitely choose this one. The Lasalle Starbucks is great for a quick stop, but this is the place to spend a few hours. read more

This is one of the busiest Starbucks I patron. It shares a lot with a dry cleaners and Crowne's... and it's busy packed! Very rarely do I find myself not parked a way's away. My H is quite the coffee/espresso snob; I could really care less! There is nearly always a line zigzagging through the tables.. and if there's not a monstrous line, I'm one of four people. The baristas are pretty well-trained IMO. They sincerely bust the queue as quickly as possible.. It's hard! I understand (I try never to rush people.. but I always catch other patrons checking their watches/phones)! Starbucks consistently delivers whenever necessary- they can only work so quickly. Moreover, the food is decent- Not the tastiest (does it come frozen or are the pastries made on-site?), but they're edible. I'm giving it 2 stars only because it's a Starbucks and they are usually my favorite places on earth. However, go the extra mile for another location. Normally, I'd only visit this location maybe twice a month, however the last 8 work days I've ordered my morning tea using the app and 2 out of 8 times they've gotten it correct. Yup...only 25% of the time can a fancy coffee house get a regular tea with milk and sugar correct. Out of the incorrect times, 3 of them had no sugar, 2 had no milk, and today they gave me some weird green tea bags (with MILK...that should've been their first clue...you don't put MILK in green tea!). Every time I wait for it to cool down to drink, so I discover that it's not right once I'm miles away. My suggestion is to stick to the nearby Bloomfield location, or the other West Hartford spot a mile or so away. read more

Horrible service. No waiting to place order but after 1/2 hour my drink was still not started. They gave me a refund but no apologies or concern about the wait. 2 baristas were working but one was alternating between drinks and the order counter. Unfortunately, it seems my drink was assigned to the multi-tasker and she could not handle the volume with her other duties. Orders should be filled in the order received, not the happenstance of which barista it is assigned to. I have no complaints with the food or drink at this Starbucks, they are pretty consistent with any other Starbucks. My problem is with the mobile ordering. If a business doesn't have enough staff to efficiently take mobile orders as well as in store then they just shouldn't offer it as a service. I have gone to untold numbers of Starbucks in my life and can unequivocally state that this was the worst one I have ever been inside. Where do I start? Simple (but frightening) incompetence at the cash register followed by a long line of people waiting endlessly for orders that didn't come. Belligerent staff that responded to a request for help with "I'm getting off the clock!" Multiple people behind the counter doing nothing. Creation of some type of caramel drink with elements of it sprayed all over the counter (uncleaned). Delivery finally of drinks we didn't order and then the insistence that Starbucks always serves sweetened ice tea unless specially ordered (not true of course).
