Ordered an herbal tea Friday. The barista made it for me while others were waiting to order and there was another barista making the orders (I also ordered another drink which she did not make). Took one drink and spat it out. It was boiling hot. I took it home and opened the lid and there was another cup inside. Two cups and a cup holder so I didn't feel how hot it is. Beware. Molly was the absolute worst person I've ever encountered at a starbucks. The order was a simple steamer, and shaken espresso both made wrong. Molly in addition to being rude, refused to do the refund. If she can't do her job right, she shouldn't be working. The ambiance wreaked of stress, unhappiness, and bad staff. Used to work at the Chipotle in the same plaza and come by here during lunch. Didn't Yelp at the time, but my experience was always fantastic. Came by here after a hike over at Harold Parker State Forest in Andover, got a Pumpkin Sweet Cream Cold brew which was perfect as it always is. The place is pretty small, and doesn't have much flow when it comes to ordering. They just renovated so it is a little bit better. I always do online ordering and don't have any issues with picking it up especially since they moved the station to the front of the restaurant. read more

Went into get Venti Crapuccino the other day. I asked the dude to print the receipt, but he forgot and asked me again. I told him to print the receipt one more time. He said he has short term memory. So that was -1 point immediately. And he went to back and came out after about 3 minutes and made the Crappuccino, but tall size not Venti. He said again that he has short term memory and he said "Can I make you a new one?". At this point, I was very frustrated, got refund, and walked out. This was not the first bad experience (screw up simple order or being a-hole) in this place. Half of the works who work there are either idiots or very rude. Sometimes they are both idiotic and rude. Went in before Christmas to buy 4 pounds of coffee as Christmas gifts. I am not a coffee drinker. She asked if I wanted it ground and I said YES, because the people who get this coffee as gifts don't have coffee grinders. She patiently informed me that ground coffee goes stale faster than non-ground coffee. Also, anybody with a bag of Starbucks coffee can get it ground for free. These are things I do not know and need to know. Was given a free large cup of hot chocolate for spending so much money there at one time. Aways appreciate getting something free. I come to this location very frequently and I just adore the very early morning (5-7am) crew! James and another young women with dark brown hair are always so friendly and acknowledge me now by first name when I walk in. They get huge bonus points because they know I have a dog who is usually always with me waiting in the car and they always have a pupauccino waiting for him! read more

My experience varies drastically every time I go in there. Some days, its 5 star+. Today, it was one star. Not only did they make a hot chocolate instead of a mocha, they didn't offer the free drink coupon which goes with a messed-up drink. I love free promotions, so yesterday Starbucks drew me in like a magnet: Between opening time and 10:30 a.m., you could get a free muffin, bagel, croissant, scone, or slice of banana bread, etc., with any "liquid" order (I think the intent of the promotion was so you could try their new "healthier" muffins, etc., but you could have anything you wanted for free. Muffins, croissants, etc., do not equal healthy even if you call them "healthy.") I don't usually go to coffee shops, but I had my coupon and figured I was in the area so what the heck. I had a medium regular (nothing fancy and nothing with the word "latte" in it), no sugar, as well as a free blueberry scone (this is one instance where I'll eat blueberries), which was very large and very tasty. This location is fairly new, but it seems smaller than other Starbucks I've seen. There were only about five tables (and I believe free WiFi) and there wasn't much maneuvering room. When I entered the store, at 10 a.m., all the tables were full but no one was in line. Five minutes later, there was a line out the door. If I saw that line when I came in, I would have skipped the coffee and the carbs and would have saved myself I'm guessing almost 450 calories. Will I come back? Probably for the next promotion. Three stars cuz it's "only" a Starbucks, not a one-of-a-kind coffee establishment with over-the-top baked goods. read more

I stopped in on a trip to Maine recently because it's right off I-495 and as soon as I walked in remembered why I am no longer much of a fan of the Boston-area and the sour puss personalities you always run into. [I lived in Boston for nine years, so I speak with some authority on this topic.] I walked up to the counter and said 'good morning' and the whole transaction from then on was as though they were doing me a favor of taking my money and making me a drink. No warmth or smiles at all. Got back in the car and headed north wondering what is it about people in and around Boston and their anti-smile, anti-eye contact personalities? My guess is you have an ever-growing population of over-educated locals who refuse to move from the area to pursue meaningful careers [obsessed with high taxes, bad roads, lousy drivers, crappy winters and the Sox?] and end up being resentful in their dead-end jobs working at Starbucks and the like?
