So, I stumbled upon this hidden gem on a date. The bartender was super quick to get our drinks and snacks--and the best part? Late-night munchies, a pool table, and karaoke! So Stardust lounge has been around for a long time. I have gone in there to visit bartenders that I know I've never had a negative experience until the Super Bowl. I walked in the door all had to turn to look at me I said hello nobody said hello back I made my way to a booth as I was meeting other people so we wanted to booth found a booth, good spot for a pool table and to watch the game. I seated myself got comfortable. Waited for somebody to come over to my table to take my order. Had two bartenders walk past me didn't make iContact didn't ask me if I wanted anything I walked up to the bar, ordered my cocktail bartender made it down at the other end of the bar and had it sitting there while she was doing football pools I walked over to where she was at asked for my drink. She slid it over to me without even looking at me. I asked her how much she told me I gave her the correct amount plus a little extra, and she proceeded to ask me if I want to change back, I said no and walked away. My friends finally showed up they were greeted immediately bartender came over to the table and asked them what they wanted to drink. She still refused to look at me, now mind you I don't know this person and as of now, I don't care to know this person, at one point one of my friends asked her why she wasn't being nice and she said she was too busy to be nice. I totally did not understand that comment to all .... We had a group picture that was taken. I guess it was for all the regulars there because me and my girlfriend did not get invited to take the picture and once again, my friend asked about it and they said that we were not normal, ?!! I will say one thing being treated badly because I'm Mexican or because I was dressed differently. Does not give you the right to treat me badly. Being in the service industry myself, I know how important it is to treat people kindly! We ordered some food that they were serving Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and nachos. Great idea we enjoyed eating. I will go there to see my friends that work behind the bar but I will make sure that I don't go in when that bartender is working that treated me rudely. Make no mistake, this is a dive bar. It has zero pretension. Beer selections are limited and skew towards the macro. The liquor is less than top shelf. However, I absolutely love coming here late on a Friday or Saturday night to take advantage of karaoke. The service is good. The singing quality varies dramatically based on inherent talent, song selection, and individual/group sobriety. The drinks are affordable. And the crowd, which is oh so eclectic, and can change from visit to visit, is generally supportive and easy to get along with. read more

This is an awesome, neighborhood bar with pool tables and karaoke. Do they have an awesome craft beer selection? No. Do they have cheap beer by the pitcher? Absolutely. Keep your expectations in check. This place has domestic beer, well drinks and shots. They have Jager & Fireball on ice cold taps as well. They only take cash! Hit an ATM on your way over. Karaoke on Friday & Saturday nights is a blast! They don't have a ton of singers, so you can sing multiple times throughout the evening. Song selections are from a book. This has to be BEST dive bar on the West Side. We popped in one Wednesday around 5:45pm and the bar was full. The regulars were super friendly and hospitable - unlike some bars where the locals are all depressed and pissy - the Stardust was filled with old Timers who were happy to chat. The drinks were well made and heavily poured. Erin - super cool bartendress - was really fun & friendly. We played music bingo and had some really fun conversation. Me and the wife go to this bar alot whenever we decide to stay local on a weekend night. This last time, and I mean last, we were treated rudely right away by a new bartender whom we had never seen before. Other people had to ask the bartender to serve us on the first drink. It was a struggle to get served for our next 2 rounds. Finally on our last attempt when she hadn't checked on us after 20 minutes we left. This is another proto-typical neighborhood bar. Cheap drinks, pool tables, and dim lighting but with a difference. They have live music The stage used to remind me of the first Blues Brothers movie (the scene in the country western bar) because it had a wooden railing across the front of the stage kind of like a horse hitching rail. Thankfully the rail is gone which makes life a lot easier for musicians to set up and tear down. The Dust is out of the way in a little industrial area, across from Marshall liquors, and you could probably drive right by it without missing it. First off- it sucks that you have to pay with cash so you can't run a tab--obviously trying hard not to claim all their earnings. The liquor there is awful. The worst selection of alcohol I've ever seen in any dive. Out of every beer on tap except for CL. Gross. But the worst part is the bitchy bartender from last night. We brought a great crowd in for a birthday to sing some karaoke and no doubt made that horrid woman a LOT more money than she would have made otherwise. Let me tell you- most of us had worked in bars and restaurants before so we aren't cheap... if she would have given even the slightest bit of interest in our party she would have made so much more. I went to this place with a few friends after a concert. I had probably 3 glasses of wine at the show. Roll up in a Lyft with my girls and I knew right away I wasn't drinking alcohol here. Not to sound like a wine snob but this particular type of shit hole is not the place to get wine. Lucky for me I didn't get the chance to even find out if they had specials on Boons Farm. I walked in and within minutes was told I wouldn't be served. Um, hello!! I didn't even ask for a drink. So I go outside and I'm sitting on a bench and the same guy who told me to leave walks up and I ask him if I'm now not allowed to sit on the bench and he tells me that I can go back in, if I drink water and sing karaoke! Look man, I don't sing karaoke and wait, what?!? On the bright side I got to give a stranger the finger to his face and he saved my girls some money because we went elsewhere. Incredibly unprofressional. My band booked a gig there that we were scheduled for March 13th and Pattie gave me a call to let us know that they were cancelling due to Karaoke bringing in more people than bands. For perspective, my band was bringing 30+ people and they still declined. Love the marginalization of live music now. read more
