    Wooden token for charities
    Tessa H.

A bar with purpose! I've never seen anything like the Wooden Token program at Berkeley Untapped that donates a portion of their sales to a charity of the patrons' choosing. So admirable! On top of that, we had amazing service with the friendliest bartender. They offer local CO brews and wine, and a full bar! The inside is small so I imagine it gets packed fast some nights. But the size added to the cozy, neighborhood feel!

Beautiful bar in the bustling neighborhood of Tennyson! The service was amazing, drinks were delicious (and strong!). They have a cool concept where you get to put your "token" into different bins to support different causes; I thought this was really unique :) They have some snacks which we didn't try but look yummy!

Such a great neighborhood bar on Tennyson Street. Specials are always changing with cute names and great drinks! Prices are well priced for their drinks. Not a beer place but good liquor selections! Staff is super friendly and attentive! Outside section looks like it's officially permanent and can't wait to sit out there during the spring and summer time!!

"Drink. Laugh. Give" I love a bar with a cause. For every drink you purchase, you get a wooden token to place in the charity of your choice - animal, environment, human. Berkeley Untapped tallies the tokens and donates to the cause with the most votes. They have one bartender with an excellent system. As people stood in line, she constantly reminded people to pull up the QR code menu and have their drink selections ready. They have rotating beers on tap and a fantastic selection of spirits. You can even get your beverage to go for an additional fee. They are dog friendly and have plenty of seating options on the patio or in their covered outdoor area called The Green Room. What a great little bar!

We stopped here for drinks before dinner - it was our first time, and such a cool taproom! It was quite small inside and the flow was a little cluttered i.e., the line to wait to order at the bar cuts right through the main center of the room so it feels a bit cluttered when the line is long. There was only one bartender behind the bar when we were there and boy was she efficient! I ended up getting the Alpen Gose beer (Telluride Brewing) and my husband ordered a Goliath Brewing beer but it kicked halfway through so the bartender gave him that one for free and he got to pick a new beer. We had the Denver Eat and Drink pass which got us a BOGO beer, so really we got three beers for the price of one! It was fun to sit at the window seats and people watch outside. I also really liked how we got "charity" coins for each drink purchase, and a portion of our drink goes to either a humanity/environment/animal non-profit of our choice (We put the coins in their buckets). Will definitely come back here for a drink!

Very nice place, smaller. There is a small patio, dogs allowed! A smaller choice of beers, but all the beers we tried on our flight were amazing. Buy beer, and you get to donate to local charities!

While we ended up getting different drinks, I have no doubt the espresso martini is yummy. My husband went for the Old Fashioned and I opted for As the Crow Flies - both were very tasty. Not cheap though - about $14 a pop. They had a wide beer selection and a few NA options, which I'm looking forward to trying as they sounded good. The bartender was friendly and skilled. We ended up sitting inside because it was a bit too hot for us, but others were on the patio and it did have ample seating and shade; will likely be lovely in a few weeks. The decor inside was clean with comfortable seating and a variety of bar seats and low tables. They also had virtual golf - an interesting mix. My one complaint is the amount of televisions. It had the amount I'd expect at a sports bar but way above sports bar prices. They could get away with removing 1-2 and still catering to the same crowd while appealing to those (like me) who don't want to have to sit in a corner and strategically place the chairs just to not have to look at a screen.

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

Cozy spot for some classy bites and cocktails. I think I probably got off on the wrong foot when I asked for sparkling water instead of flat and found out it was $7 per personal mini bottle (and they don't have club soda). My first time encountering that in Denver in the last 14 years... The cocktail concept is cool: pick a classic, slightly updated, or super creative version from 5 categories (martini, old fashioned, sour, spritz, highball). The spicy mango sour (with mezcal) was awesome -- although I expected egg white on a sour. The martinis were ok... a bit of a let-down in today's collection of Denver martinis at other local spots (think anchovy, sour cream and onion, holy trinity, and old bay). The food was also hit or miss. We loved the cauliflower/potato Bravas with the slightly spicy sauce, as well as the croquettes and their sauce. The tuna crudo was super bland, which is disappointing for $19.

Found this location listed in the Michelin guide and thought... let's try it out? On the third story it's not your average restaurant set up... we were seated next to the kitchen where we got to see the magic! Johny was our waiter who was absolutely killing it! He and his whole staff were engaged, checking in, and even the chefs were bringing us our plates right to our table! Absolutely just one of the best experiences as we order the "Walk With Us" for 2. Walk with us: 5/5 Banchan style servings or tapas as I'm so used to... are ways of giving you the chefs vision of a story they want to paint with food. A taste so unique that I will say... only gets better as you keep going down this experience. Starters throughout the experience have so much flavor and textures that complement each other. The entrees... they get so much better.... Short rib Wagyu galbi that's so scrumptious and a Korean fried chicken that's crispy as can be with a perfectly cooked chicken through and through that's moist and just the perfect definition of a k-fried chicken! I would say my top 3 favorite bites would be: 1. Shaken rice 2. Oyster mushrooms 3. Entree meet: (chicken & beef) tied The chef who brought us the shaken rice explained the meaning behind the dish and what was in it... the back story is so wholesome and unique that it leaves you heartfelt and just happy to be sharing this experience. The oyster mushrooms have so much flavor... you would need to have them because. They mimic beef so well and they have been seasoned to perfection! Entrees.... Yes! They're that good! They will be a challenge to eat because everything else around you is also super good!!! The only thing I wish I would have tried would have been the milk rolls as they looked so good.... We could not have had a better experience without him. Don't skip on the cocktails--all good with some subtle twists on old classics. Now to the downside. The place is NOISY. We were seated early and the music was deafening already. Just blasting out of multiple speakers. Then as the restaurant filled up, and everyone started yelling at their tablemates, it was just too loud to enjoy the rest of the meal. Hard floors, no soundproofing and a room full of people enjoying themselves makes for a very loud atmosphere.
