We stopped here for drinks before dinner - it was our first time, and such a cool taproom! It was quite small inside and the flow was a little cluttered i.e., the line to wait to order at the bar cuts right through the main center of the room so it feels a bit cluttered when the line is long. There was only one bartender behind the bar when we were there and boy was she efficient! I ended up getting the Alpen Gose beer (Telluride Brewing) and my husband ordered a Goliath Brewing beer but it kicked halfway through so the bartender gave him that one for free and he got to pick a new beer. We had the Denver Eat and Drink pass which got us a BOGO beer, so really we got three beers for the price of one! It was fun to sit at the window seats and people watch outside. I also really liked how we got "charity" coins for each drink purchase, and a portion of our drink goes to either a humanity/environment/animal non-profit of our choice (We put the coins in their buckets). A female bartender stepped outside and shared that moms get 15% off drinks. That we love Mimosas. Intrigued and ready to try a drink, I stopped to chat. She continues to shout if you have dogs you get I 15% off. I asked about babies and her response out loud to a huge crowd... fuck babies. The people surrounding her all cheered. For a location that should be friendly, it was clear this location is hostile towards children. This is one of those joints that I've actually found myself hanging out at way more post-COVID. The expansion of the seating area out into the street on Tennyson has resulted in one of the best places to chill in the neighborhood, and I'm finding myself drawn here weekly to have one of their delicious beers on tap, relax in the sun, and people-watch with friends. They don't serve food here, but they encourage you to bring outside offerings. There is certainly no shortage of places to grab food to go on Tennyson: Fat Sully's Pizza is about 50 feet away for a quick, sizeable slice o' pie, or Post Oak BBQ, Pasty Republic, Vital Root... the point is, there is food to be had close by. In addition to a well-curated selection of beers on tap, they also serve wine and have a full bar. I have yet to do it myself, but grabbing cocktails to go while walking down Tennyson seems to be a popular thing to do. The bar staff is friendly and efficient - on the few occasions I have seen a line more than 3 deep here, it goes pretty quick. They also have a bathroom inside for customers (properly masked up, of course). I'm hopeful that some outdoor heaters will materialize over the next weeks to solidify this spot as a year-round hangout. read more

I love this venue, but too many times I've seen the brunette female bartender awkwardly, and loudly, ask someone who is checking out "what percentage of tip do you want to leave?" It's so cringy, and it makes me not want to come back. I don't know why the system doesn't allow somebody to privately leave their own tap, or why she has to shout this loudly in front of everyone, as if to bully the payee into leaving extra tip. In any event, it's incredibly awkward each and every time she does it. Please stop making patrons cringe so you can make a better tip! read more

We were looking for a nearby place to sit inside while we waited an hour for seats at Denver Biscuit, and we didn't have to go far. This place was next door and the bartender was out on the patio when we passed and invited us to have a drink and assured us there was plenty of room to sit inside. I ordered a mimosa and the bartender asked "regular or lavender pineapple?" LAVENDER PINEAPPLE! I did not see that on the menu, but I totally went for it. It was a bit more expensive ($12) but I was on vacation. The drink was superb, and strong. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. One of my friends got an NA IPA that was so good, I don't think I would've ever known it was NA. Anyway, Berkeley Untapped made our wait for brunch super enjoyable. No loud music, so we were able to chat and catch up with old friends, which I appreciate. read more

Have had two great experiences here thus far and I will be returning... Scotch and whiskey drinkers there's lots of options for you. Great craft beer selections on tap. Berkeley Untapped is rad! I think this is my favorite bar on Tennyson Street. They have an ever rotating selection of craft beer on draft from lots of smaller local breweries like Strange and Black Shirt. There is also a selection of bombers available. Whiskey is their other big focus. I'm not a whiskey drinker but if you are I'm sure you'll enjoy their selection! They've also got gin and vodka available if that's what blows your skirt up. But what really makes Berkeley Untapped awesome (besides their wonderful array of local alcohol), is that they donate 25 cents of each drink purchased to charity. They have a wall up in the bar with information about 3 different charities: one animal related, one environmental, one humanitarian. The charities change every couple months. When you've receive your drink, they also hand you a little wooden token (representing $.25) that you can then drop in the basket for the charity of your choosing. They don't stay open as late as some of the other bars (they close at midnight on the weekends) on Tennyson, but this is the perfect place to come with a couple friends to enjoy a couple drinks and get your night started. read more

They have a good selection of beers on tap as well as several whiskeys, so you can choose whatever suits your mood (pretty sure they have wine too). I went during the day, so it was a bit slower, but the guys working there were knowledgeable and friendly. One of the bartenders took the time to suggest different breweries and spots to check out since my friends and I are new to the area. They don't really have food at the moment, but we were told that we could bring in food from elsewhere, so I'm sure we'll end up doing that. And to top it off, every time you order a beer, they give you a token that you can use to donate a portion of the sale (I think it's 25 cents) to one of three charities. They have info about the charities and a running total of how much each has earned on a board in the corner of the space. What a great find, we'd eaten dinner at Atomic Cowboy next door on a Sunday nite and just popped in for a drink and check it out. Great friendly owner behind the bar, and it's already been said that he has a cool friendly place with good beers and great choices in the hard stuff. Really respect the charity thing he does, I've never seen that before - major kudos! Oh and great taste in music, we were enjoying some classic James Brown while there, that's a first. It wasn't packed and wasn't empty. Just right for some late night drinks! We used to come here when it was an art and wine bar, and have not been since they switched to being a tap house. But every First Friday we would see they were packed, so when my wife went to visit a friend in California (she does not like beer), I went by myself to see what was up. I was not hungry and "only" had a beer, so there is very little to report, except that it is comfortable with a pleasant clientele, a great people watching street side bar, and that they have the most amazing local IPA, Green Mountain's Kama Citra. Sometimes when you discover a place it's a novelty but it wears off after a bit. I've been here a number of times over the years and since Tennyson has built up it's been good but not fantastic. I don't mind popping in for a drink but I no longer go out of my way to come by. I think sometimes the mixed drinks miss the mark and the ambiance just lacks at times.
