It's a great step into the past! The child hood memories it brings back! Times with my dad and brother. Friends, buddies. Been here several times. The last visit actually made me tear up. Pinball game Taxi. My dad and I would compete on it for hours. Our favorite pinball machine. Star Fighter had it this last time I went. I have tried to find one to buy for over a decade but people always wanted $8-10 grand. When I saw it this past weekend I teared up, Nothing could have prepared me for the memory flood to come. Star Fighter is a GEN X master piece of a large part of our generation. My wife and I enjoy going here. My kids do now as well! My boys started to understand the feeling I get as they race me on my generations of racing games! "Which they are better than me now at" lol! When visiting my parents who are snowbirds, we looked into visiting an arcade in the area. I'm a big killer queen fan, the 5 vs 5 game, and we looked up on the official site the locations that had it in the Phoenix area. This place did not show up, but it was the closest so we decided to go here. We walk in the door and killer queen is standing right in front of us. This is the best arcade in the Phoenix metropolitan area and it's not particularly close. This has everything from new pinball with QR codes and sign in rewards and tournaments, to old-school pinball, and really obscure cabinets. We saw them multiplayer arcade games, like Simpsons and ninja Turtles and area 51. They have rare games like the Batman arcade game to super monkey ball with the banana joystick. Having a full room for dance dance revolution with chairs so that a group could go and experience it together ensure each other on is high level arcade experience. Plus the idea of that once you get in with the admission fee, you get to play as much as you want on anything you want is incredible. Folks may not realize that a lot of pinball games these days are a dollar to two dollars per play. If you're bringing in anyone that isn't accustomed to it, will you make back the admission fee back by just a couple of pinball cabinets. And then, if you wanna leave get lunch, or leave and go to a brewery, you can come back with the same wristband on it and they let you back in. Same thing goes if you're with a group of kids and you want to go to Dairy Queen or something, you can go right back in and keep playing. I brought two college age kids here, and of course a lot of these games they haven't played before, but I didn't need to keep a pocket full of quarters, I could just let them roam and we met up periodically to play some group games together. They loved it. They got to be kids again. Why is the five stars are not just a simple four stars is that the little things also matter or like concessions. Bottled water is a dollar. The vintage and playful toy decor is super fun. There's free parking. I don't think every arcade these days needs to be a bar arcade where you get 60% bar and 40% arcade. I like places like this a lot more where the games of the focus the fund is the focus, and then if you want to do your adult things you can do those offsite. I fully recommend this place to any grandparents in the area and you gotta bring some grandkids to do something or burn a few hours. And if you're in town for a ball game or something like that in the area, consider going here as a fun change up, especially when it's scorching hot outside. read more

Recently visited Starfighters Arcade this weekend to celebrate a friends birthday and it was a really cool space! I haven't been to a ton of arcades in general, but one of the things I really appreciated about Starfighters, is they offer a flat fee to enjoy and play all the games as long as you want. It's $11 per person for freeplay, which makes it a great place to escape the heat and enjoy a few hours of games! The arcade does have quite a large pinball selection that makes a majority of games, but do also feature many others from shooting games, old-school such as Tetris, Q-bert, racing games, Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, basketball and many others I have never tried! They have ample parking, offer stools for kids to reach, as well as veteran/military discounts and are able to cater to larger parties if thats something of interest! Overall, tons of cool games, great value and a fun way to spend an afternoon! read more

We've been clients of this passion project for a very long time. This evening threatens that. I guess it's authentic to have the shop run by kids, right? Our arcades were pretty sketchy in the 80's. But the last two times we visited, the bathrooms were completely neglected. Tonight, there is no toilet paper in the women's room. The "soap" is a sludge. The sanitizers are empty. So now I am playing with people who have sh!fingers. It's just GROSS when am adult owns a business and lets it degrade to the level of children's hygiene. ​ The other worrisome thing is that people have brought a toddler and they have been sitting in the same place for at least two hours on their phones while the toddler goes in and out of sleep. There's a five year old walking around with a box to climb on. Didn't see his parents near him. Were they zoned out on the sofa? It's just so gross. There should be an age limit after a certain time of day. Those kids need to be in bed. Starfighters can do better. It takes very little effort. It's unhygienic and without an age limit, negligent parents can bring their problems here and hope they entertain themselves. read more

What an amazing place! This was my first visit...but I will absolutely be back. My wife and raised our children to love everything 1980's (games, music, etc.) and this place is perfect. Yet, they also have the most current pinball machines and games. This arcade is a cool 80's concept and theme, but unfortunately, a lot of the games were broken. Controllers were out of whack and not working right. There were no supply issues with the pin ball machines, and they were a lot of fun to play! The DDR machine was a hit and everyone and their neighbors were trying to get a piece of play time in the small tiny room that it was located in. $11 for unlimited play for 4 hours is pretty darn good though!! Such a neat place! My brother and sister in law actually rented it out for a bit for our family so we had all ages in there from grandparents to 5yr old. Everyone had a great time! TRANSPORTED BACK IN TIME! Woah, Back to the Future vibes in here! Not only do they have retro games, but they also have retro decor! It feels like a time capsule in here! It is only $11 to play unlimited during the time they are open for the day. This is worth it even if you come for only an hour, the price can't be beat compared to any other arcade I've been to. There's every kind of game. The employee, Kay, was awesome and gave us a little tour and told us that any arcade game you can think of from the late 70s to early 90s, they most likely have! They even have a DDR machine that is from 2002. I enjoyed playing Star Wars, Millipede, and Paperboy! I don't get out here often enough, but I love this place so much. Riddled with pinball and lovingly cared for 80's + 90's arcade games, this is a dream come true for any classic arcade enthusiast. I've been to starfighters a good number of times, and just love it here, hands down, best you'll find in the entire valley of the sun. Every nook and cranny of this warehouse arcade is filled with something exciting to play and if your game is pinball, there are soo many of those here for your enjoyment. While I didn't go and count them all, I'd guess there are somewhere in the 50+ range of working pinball machines that live their lives here, just waiting for you to come and enjoy them. The best thing about this place is its extremely reasonable entry price. You pay $11 per person, and play as long as you'd like during the business hours or a monthly pass will set you back about $35; what a steal. Once you're through the doors every game is set to free play and won't cost you another quarter. With games like pinball, pack man, tron, dig dug, centipede, star wars, marble madness and many more, if you're looking for that nostalgic arcade experience for yourself or want to introduce your kids to some of your own favorites, you MUST stop in for hours of fun! read more

My girlfriend and I were in town for the weekend and we were looking for a cool barcade. I definitely misread the details about this arcade. I didn't realize it was just an arcade and not a barcade. But you know what? I don't regret visiting Starfighters Arcade. Since we're not local around here, we didn't really know our way around town. We were really skeptical on the way here. There was nothing but warehouses around us. If you're as confused as me trying to find the arcade, keep driving and trust your gps. Once we walked in. We were greeted by 2 really nice staff in the front. My girlfriend and I were really confused about this arcade so we asked the staff about how this place works and if we had to pay for entrance fees. The staff explained that there's an entrance fee per person but you only pay one time. Most of the games, if not all, are free to play. Woah...I've never been to an arcade like this before! The inside was a little crowded but there was a game for everybody. We almost didn't have to wait for our turn for any games. There were SO MANY classic arcade games. Most of the machines were well-maintained and in good working condition. Some of them needed minor repair. We had a really good time here. We occupied ourselves for atleast 2 hours. The Starfighter Arcade is really cool! A lot of games have brought me back to my childhood. These games will always have a good place in my heart. Come check it out if you have a chance. I like to take my dad here from time to time. They have all of his favorite games from the 70's and 80's, as well as some more modern classics like ddr and guitar hero. For a flat fee, you play as much as you want. Cheap candy and soda add to his fun, reminding him of his days as a kid eating candy and playing till the lights come on. I recommend this place to anyone who wants some good ol' fun. Note: if you are sound-sensitive, consider bringing some ear plugs as it does get a little loud. I grew up in the eighties, when video games were found in places called 'Arcades' and playing them didn't require the internet or a debit card but these little round pieces of metal called 'quarters'. AirPods weren't invented yet, so you had to listen to Loverboy or Styx blared out of huge speakers bolted to the wall and nobody heard of Lady Gaga unless their mom was talking about a new bundle of joy that had just been delivered by a stork. Ah yes, the good old days, and before you ask yes I'm old. Entering this place was an instant flashback, conjuring up memories of stealing quarters from my dad so I could hit the arcade after school, where I would become the master of Frogger, pinball machines and Asteroids. But never Dragons Lair because that was just too hard to play and ate up my precious quarters too fast. Stupid game. The smile on my face grew oven broader as I watched grinning dads in their forties showing their twelve year old the joys of Mrs PacMan and Centipede as the kids stared in wide eyed wonder at the old school games and begged for a turn. For eleven bucks it's an all you can play night. If you grew up in the eighties, or are needing a reminder of an easier time before car payments, rude bosses and mortgages took over your life you would do well to swing by on a Saturday night! read more

Took our boys here for their birthdays. They have never been to an authentic 1980s stand-up video arcade. I haven't been since I was a kid. It was beyond fantastic! We played non-stop for four hours and it was amazing! Every game you can remember plus tons of pinball machines. We had the time of our lives. The staff could not have been nicer. Everyone was extremely friendly, including one of the owners who was there. Genuine, laid-back, fun people! There was never a line for a game and all the games worked perfectly. Experience, experience, experience. Back in my day (1982), arcades were a bunch of games jammed in a small space of a restaurant or lining the walls of billiard hall or bowling alley. They were cramped, sweaty places with so much noise you had to concentrate to just hear the sounds coming from your own game. The rustle and bustle of the games were matched only by the passion of the players of this new mode of entertainment. And the cost was just a quarter per play. The gamers were the nerds, geeks, D&D players and all the uncool people who didn't make it into the other cliches of high school life. They were my tribe. Age, gender, status and wealth didn't matter. All that mattered was the game and whether you mastered it, or it mastered you. This last weekend, I traveled back to that past. Back to the world of Joust, Berzerk, Dragon's Lair, Centipede and BattleZone and a hundred other games and pinball machines I thought had long since been assigned a place on some "Wall-E"-like world were decrepit old games went. Then my son brought me on a surprise visit to Starfighters Arcade. It was all there: the games, the feel, the magic, the noise, the memories. I have to admit, I only vaguely could remember much about how to win at those games, but still I had fun. At just $10 a person, you can play all the games you want for as long as you want on any given evening you choose to go. If you grew up in the early 80's, you will be going back to your adolescent years. But you'll be hanging out with people from children to adults your age.. as the vintage gaming craze has even hit the young 'uns. "Got the humanoid. Got the intruder!" Have fun! read more

We came here a few weeks ago. Wow! So many games. They have every pinball game imaginable. I saw other games that brought back memories. We paid $11 to enter and were able to play as many games as we wanted. There were quite a few people there but there were lots of games open. We stayed for about an hour and a half. Awesome arcade. $11 entry fee and then play your little heart out. Large and great selection of pinball machines as well as good variety of video games. I was there on a Sunday night and it was crowded but not so much that you couldn't get on games. Seems to be popular. They have beverages and snacks for sale. I was pleased to homestead an Eight Ball Deluxe that played really nicely and they also had the brand new Elvira on site. MIght be a challenge for those access challenged as the space is a bit tight once you add people. Definitely recommend for some fun. read more

This arcade is actually a time machine that transports you back in time to the 1980s and it's amazing. I could not believe how many incredible arcade games & pinball machines they have. Well over 150, possibly over 200. The place is truly a museum to all things 80's pop culture with display cases filled with collectible toys, movie memorabilia, posters, art and even a large projection screen showing 80s movie (it was Tron when I went -- and yes they have Tron the arcade game and Tron Deadly Discs but the latter was not working). Note there are some games throughout that were either not turned on or had issues that made them unplayable - or at least not as enjoyable. But I would estimate that about 90% of all games were working. They don't sell alcohol but they have cans of soda for $1 - including old school RC Cola! Spent 2 hours here with my sons and we all had a blast and you can't beat the pay once at the door price. We can't wait to go back in time again at The Starfighter Arcade! Oh Yeah!!! read more
