    Level One Arcade Bar.

You know it's going to be a legendary night when your main competition at darts is a rogue fan blowing your aim off because, apparently, even the air wants you to lose. So, there we were, bar hopping around DT Mesa like pros, when someone casually mentioned, "Hey, there's an arcade upstairs at this underground speakeasy." Challenge accepted. Now, let me tell you, playing darts after a few drinks is a whole different sport. Did we break some dart tips? Absolutely. Did my buddy somehow manage to launch darts behind the machine like some kind of ninja? Without a doubt. And yes, we definitely tried blaming the fan for our poor aim because who else can you blame when your darts have a mind of their own? It was hilarious. Meanwhile, Mike D., aka The Darts King and also Mr. Friendliest 2018 (go add him), is still sitting on his throne. Honestly, I'm getting tired of his reign. I need to snatch that crown! This spot is legit, though. They have a handful of games, a well-stocked bar, and cozy tables where you can chill. That night, there was even a nearly-wedded couple with their whole crew hanging out. Super chill vibes. Yeah, I'm coming back.

Pretty cool spot for a drink and to play some arcade games. Bartenders were friendly and so was the person who was checking ID's at the door. We hung out upstairs and the back patio. Drinks are fairly priced.

How fun is this place?! I love Mesa more and more each time I visit. This week my niece was in town and I was looking for somewhere fun I could take her. One of the great things about Level 1 is that kids are allowed on as long as they are supervised by an adult and it's before 7pm. It is a bar so the night scene is very different. There are a few arcades close to me, but there are so many more game options here and with the second level there is much to choose from. Service was great, they have an atm so you don't have to go elsewhere if you don't have cash, most games are between a quarter or a dollar. Of coming to drink there is a full bar on both levels. We had a great time. My favorite by far is the Metallica pinball or of course your old school Nintendo options like Burger Time, Excite Bike and more.

Came here to play darts and celebrate my partner's birthday. Not our first time and def not our last. Darts, shots, and some bar food. Was pleasantly surprised by the chicken quesadilla we shared (LARGE). The bartender was super sweet and overheard us talking about my boyfriend's birthday and offered him a free birthday shot which was thoughtful! Darts are great there as they have 4 individual dart boards and plenty of room for everyone to shoot. Sick pinball machines upstairs. It was about 2pm and not super busy since the night crowd wasn't quite in yet. Parking out back was still tight though. Vibes are nerdy and immaculate

Flight deck comes with game tokens, which was awesome !

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Friday night. The 1st level was not very busy, so we decided to grab some drinks and food. We sat at the bar, and had to wait some time before being acknowledged, despite the fact that there were 2 to 3 bartenders at the bar. The food was great, we got the pretzel, which was surprisingly very soft and warm. The wings and the fried pb and j were also tasty. The fried pickles were over fried, so it just ended up drying them out. The place itself is very cool, lots of games to play. The service is what really put a dent in the experience. I love the flight deck I got, but it was hard to get a bartender to take our order. On top of that, they don't seem to have alot of knowledge on the beers they serve. I asked for a mix of IPAs for my flight, and the bartender seemed confused. My husband was trying to close out, and it took at least 20 to 30 minutes to even get anyone to pay attention. This place is great, but the service really needs improvement.

Cocktails tasted great my friend said and as a non cocktail drinker myself I tried the toasty one and it tasted like hot chocolate kinda liked it they have a decent size amount of pinballs but a handful don't work or a lot have stick buttons and the screens don't indicate when you've inserted coins so you kinda go threw a trust the system know there coins even if the screen doesn't change , and the top floor of the place smelled like piss. Ok spot I still think yucca tap rooms pinball area is better

Super cute bar areas throughout! Service is friendly and quick. They have darts, arcade, bar seating and patio! Even a hidden gem downstairs! . Cute lighting for photos too. Pricing for drinks is good too.

My favorite local bar! Been coming since they opened up! Always a nice chill time, my fav drink is their scorpion colada! I am yet to try their food, but sure it's delicious, just like their drinks! Lots of arcade games! Music can be a bit better I think! Otherwise my fav place!

I'm pretty positive this is my new favorite place. Wish it opened up an hour earlier on weekdays but oh well. Games are great, pin ball is great. Outdoor area is great. Beer selection is more than great. Staff is nice. Food is yummy. Love being able to come here after work for a drink and some games. They have a mystery bag you Can get for 5.50 and it's gotta mystery beer and 4 tokens in it every time!

Great selection of pinball and arcade games!

Loved visiting this Arcade and Bar! We were treated so nicely by all the staff, including the door host - pictured with my review! He was so friendly and made sure we knew all the details and helped us to have a great visit. Tons of games, plenty of good food, and two stories of fun! 10/10 would recommend. We are planning our next trip to Level One for the Bloody Mary brunch - heard great things about it!

Me and my friends were treated horribly here! We checked out this place on a Saturday night for the first time and the service was not great. We got there by 6:30pm/7pm and it wasn't packed. We waited over 10 minutes just to get one drink. She was serving people that got there after us first. When the bartender finally acknowledged us, she was rude and had an attitude. After, we went to check out upstairs, she followed us and went to tell the other bartender at the upstairs bar about us when I'm not sure why. She even went as far as to tell the guy outside for the speakeasy to not let us in either. The rest of our time there, she continued to be rude and continued to not serve us. We kept trying to get her attention so we can order more drinks and give the place business but she ended up kicking us out for no reason! We were never rude to her, never gave her attitude, never yelled at her or anything. She was the one wearing a referee costume and had short black hair and was about maybe 5'5? The place was really cool and we were excited to check it out but her bad attitude and very bad service ruined our experience!!!

What a great idea to bring back all the old school arcade games!! It's on the strip to downtown Mesa! Perfect!! It's fun to take the kids to or to go on a date! We attended a 40th Birthday Party here and it was great!! Such a great vibe so fun and nostalgic, the employees were kind and the games were on point!! The drinks liked amazing and the food was like finger foods fast and easy, pretzel bites, chicken, wings, tater tots, tacos, stuff, like that simple filling. I would definitely recommend anyone who loves to play retro video games. This is the place for you! We had so much fun.

The server, Wes, was very prompt, brought us water right away. He answered our questions about drinks and the menu and made excellent suggestions for a starter. We had the queso fundido, to start. Piled high with a nest of potatoes so light and crispy! The drinks were perfect! For dinner we had the burger (with egg) and the flat iron steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and very delicious. The dessert (similar to key lime pie) was excellent. The service was attentive but not intrusive, very friendly and welcoming. Chef Roberto was nominated as the 2024 up-and-coming chef. This restaurant is perfect for a romantic date night or a large gathering. One side of the restaurant features a large bar along with smaller tables. Then, on the other side of the restaurant there are larger tables. I love how the intimate dining is separate from larger gatherings. Definitely a lot of thought and planning went into the Layout of this restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess. Behind her was a small case featuring oysters. The young woman that seated us was kind and showed us to our seat. Our servers name was Nicki. She was also very friendly and had very good recommendations. To drink I started off with The Phoenix and my husband had a bottled beer. My drink was very delicious. Freshly squeezed citrus juices gave it a bit of a tart taste. It was definitely a deliciously crafted cocktail. For dinner I chose to have the restaurant week menu. Please see photo below. I selected the Birria dumplings. They consisted of Wagyu beef cheek, cabbage slaw, roasted corn, confit, mushrooms, bok choy, beef, broth, and chili sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed them and would definitely get them again. For my main course, I selected the K4 flat iron steak, prepared, medium rare. It was accompanied by Chiltepin sauce - potatoes - flour tortilla - beans. There was definitely something about the potatoes and how they were dry roasted, then added to the beans. The way the potatoes absorbed the residual liquid from the beans created a delicious melody of flavors. Steak was delicious and perfectly. K4 is a. premium Meat shop in Prescott, Arizona. For Dessert, I ordered the Keylime pie. I have to admit I do not like Keylime pie but today I have seen the light! Or should I say spirit? Esprirtu's Keylime pie is the best I have ever had. Less like a traditional pie it's layered and cut into a square. The lime zest on top gave it that extra finishing touch of tart. Thank you to the entire staff for a very delicious and memorable meal. We will absolutely positively be returning.

If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.
