Unfortunately our family is joining the list of people who were so pleased with the honest approach of Dr,Barry and are terribly disappointed and worried that we wronged our 2 dogs by allowing them to be treated at Well Haven. We were very pleased when we first visited the new office. The office was updated and the vet ( Dr Roth) had an engaging personality. We gave her our trust. .Our next experience at the time of surgery was drastically different. Our initial visit with her was for a routine exam. The dogs were acting well. She noted that they needed dental care and quoted $500 per dog for cleaning and polishing under anesthesia. We understood that she might need to perform extractions if closer exam warranted. We were shocked to get a call while they were under anesthesia with her telling us that the situation was terrible and quoted $1700 to remove the teeth from the first dog. She went on with scare tactics about how much pain the dogs were in ("even under anesthesia they were responding to touch in a painful manner"-- {which raised the question of how good the anesthesia was} ). The teeth were grossly infected and in essence her strong recommendation would be extraction of the 13 teeth. She offered no options or alternatives other than to abort the procedure. She then asked " how much is the most you are willing to pay?" We ended up in a negotiation over the phone essentially with a gun to our heads with the overwhelming message from her being we would be terrible owners if we didn't agree to her terms. We eventually agreed on $1000.00 Amazingly when she operated on the next dog who historically has worse teeth she only needed to remove a small fraction of the number. We can't help but wonder, was the first dog over treated or the second dog undertreated?. Dr. Sullivan treated my 20-year-old feral cat who had a serious injury. She treated him with compassion and respect and worked with me to figure out the best options to address his injuries and health. I had some difficulties finding a veterinarian who would work with a feral cat in a live trap on a tight time frame, and I am so glad that I ended up at this clinic. I was worried taking an old feral cat with a serious injury to a vet clinic would lead to recommendations of euthanization, or that he wouldn't be treated as well as a pet cat. I think I also saved a lot of money by going to this clinic - a trip to the ER would have been so much more expensive. Thanks to Dr. Sullivan my cat is now in recovery and likely has several years ahead of him to live out his best life. Highly recommended! read more

This used to be a great clinic, but it sold out to another firm and now I am completely appalled at how the doctor and clinic treat patients. Here's my sad story. My shitzu was having breathing/heart problems. We took him in for an emergency visit on Saturday. Our bill was over $500.00 for xrays, blood tests, 3 presciptions and the office visit. The vet tech tried to give us 3 prescriptions and told us we could go. He could not explain what the lab results meant or what the xrays results were. So, we asked to see the vet. Dr. Roth, the vet, said she did not have "time" to discuss the results of the xrays or bloodwork since her clinic was like an ER, but she would take some time since we asked. She said she couldn't interpret the xrays because she wasn't a radiologist, but could tell there was an infection because of the lab results. She told us it would cost more money to find out what kind of infection the dog had, but that she gave us some antiobiotics which would hopefully work for most infections. She promised to send the xrays out to a radiologist and to get back to us with xray results on Monday or Tuesday She never called back or e-mailed us. On Friday, we got an e-mail from the front office saying it would cost another $110.00 to interpret the xrays and that the radiology results were not available other than what was given to us at the time of discharge (which was a big fat "I don't know because I am a vet and not a radiologist" according to the vets own words). My dog almost died, and I still don't know what was wrong and I am out $500. Luckily, the antibiotics worked and my dog is recovering. I am angry at how this new clinic treats pets and their owners. We took our mini doxie there to do a teeth cleaning. That place pulled some of her teeth, leaving multiple tooth fragments in her jaw. They also fractured her bottom jaw across the tip. If that wasn't enough, they didn't suture the holes left behind, so the grew into massive infections. Now our little girl has only partial bottom jaw left, with disabilities for the rest of her life. Dr Barry has retired. They do not answer their phone and the mailbox is full. We were told our dog needs surgery and we should call to schedule. Three weeks later my wife had to drive to the clinic to ask whats going on, only to find out they are not doing surgeries and no idea when they would. She was also told they wouldn't honor the prices from three weeks ago! We will no longer be using this clinic and have never seen such incompetence and poor customer service, Used to be really good, now its not. My animals have been patients of Dr. Barry since the 1970's, when he was on SE Foster. His dedication to see that the "critters" were taken care of, at a price people could afford, was second to none. Something these corporations and fancy clinics know nothing about. I called Stark Street today just to get a prescription refilled for my 16 year old cat, and of course I was met with the same "we got to run a bunch of costly tests" before they would fill it nonsense, everyone else is running into. They also informed me DR. POWERS was gone as well, and he is now working at GRESHAM ANIMAL HOSPITAL on Division. I would not give Stark Street a second look, I would just pass it by, everything that was once good about it is gone. I know everything changes, but this is a huge loss for the animals, there will be a far greater number, going without treatment as a result. I took my dog Cow there for the first time she was really sick . The staff there is very helpful and compassionate with the animals you could see the love in their eyes towards each animal that came into the clinic I will definitely be going back there with all of my animals we have 5 kitties to rabbits and a betta fish so yes I highly recommend this clinic for your pets. Today Cow is no longer puking , peeing or pooping pure blood. I have them to thank for it . They kept reassuring me from the moment I was there that she was going to be okay. We brought our dog here, hoping for a positive experience and hoping to find a clinic that we could call "home". The front staff were friendly as was the vet tech. And then there was Dr. Robert. She was intensely condescending and apparently threatened by having informed clients. She recommended big brand name dog foods for our dogs diet (rubbish) and repeatedly prattled on about the people at "corporate office" (Wellhaven). This place was shifty. What a waste of time. I took Isabella to see Dr. Barry to be chipped and spayed. and as always Bella's care was fabulous, with very reasonable cost. Dr. Barry has been our families vet for almost 25 years. I will start by saying Dr Berry has some very large shoes to fill. And wellhaven isn't even out of newborn socks yet! This is no longer Stark st animal clinic. This is Wellhaven just another run of the mill rip you off veterinary hospital riding on the coat tails of a solid honest practice that truly took care of its customers. They buy out the practice then instantly up prices and take an honest trustworthy clientele and up-sell, up-sell,up-sell!! Dr Berry nor Dr. Powers would ever walk out and try to up-sell somebody over $1000.00 for "preventative care" B.S., that literally goes as far as "nail trimming" to try and create value. Keep in mind they do this before a vet even sees your animal. Then if you're not thoroughly disgusted by then... you get to meet the Dr..(probably very smart, but still wet behind the ears) still in that time of her life where she's right and everyone else is wrong, then try's to let you know why she's right... I could only hope she studies as hard on consumer trust as she did in vet school because she has long way to go before she could be a rock in Dr Berry's shoe, let alone fill it. We just paid $320 for a vet visit and didn't even talk to the veterinarian. No idea what we were charged for and our concerns weren't even addressed. Last time are pets will go there!!!! I would like to start off by saying I would like to think I'm a very reasonable person and I do not like confrontation at all! Unfortunately, my experience with Wellhaven ended up being a very bad one. I have been with Stark street animal hospital for over a decade, I followed Dr. Powers from Mt hood pet and have been with him since then. Stark street animal clinic was sold to Wellhaven this past year and let Dr. Powers go sadly. I went to get my records back in September to go elsewhere, but one of the gals I have known my whole time at the clinic asked me to give it a shot before I make a final decision. I'm a reasonable person (like I said before) so I decided ok I'll give it a shot. My husband and myself took our malamute in October to establish her with the new vet and get her shots. The vet was great (She is no longer there now after not very much time) at that time she wanted to get some blood work and UA for her ongoing pee problem (She can't control her bladder) she has been on this medication since she was 10 months old and is now 7.5 years, has never caused a problem with her so we denied having them done at that time and promised to have them done in Jan 2019 since they would have manageable plans. Our malamute has since been to the ER not even a month ago because she has ended up twisting her back leg, so they did a full blood panel while she was there and blood work came out "boring" aka it was normal coming from the ER vet. I called in to get our dogs medicine refilled as she is pretty much out. They denied my request not once but twice! They demanded I needed to have blood work done, UA and pay another office visit charge for her to see the new vet (since the last one I just saw in October is gone). I told them I wasn't going to pay for another blood panel to be done when it was just done not even a month ago at the VCA ER in Clackamas and came back normal, nor was I going to pay for an office visit because she already had a physical less than 6 months ago at their office, had shots and it is not our fault that the new vet we just saw in October has already left and we have to reestablish with yet another vet! I told them to call the ER to get her blood work. I talked to Roxanne on the phone and she was trying to get us a small dose of her meds to get us by until we could get into see someone, but that was denied. I was told I would get a phone call back to let us know what was said after they got the blood work from the ER vet. I received a voicemail the following day from another gal Kate or Kay and I'm assuming was the office manager stating they wouldn't give me anything until I came in to get blood work, UA and another physical because her medication is a controlled substance. At this point I'm beyond upset and feel like I'm not being heard or understood! I called back, and I wasn't happy, I advised Kate or Kay I would not be paying for the office fee or the blood work because it was just done, she stated "She needs to be healthy." I said, "She sprained her back leg and her blood work came back normal. She has been on this medicine since she was 10 months old and she is now 7.5 years old, she has never once had any problems." She then tells me "Well we still need to have blood work." At this point I stated, "I feel like you are taking advantage and just trying to get money out of us and that's not going to happen." So again, she denied my request for the medicine. So, they didn't even call the ER to get my dogs blood work! She also stated "We are just trying to look out for the health of your dog. Maybe this vet isn't the right fit for you" if they were looking out for the health of my dog why would they deny the request for her meds that helps her with her bladder, if she doesn't get them on a regular bases she gets UTI's. I did say no this is not the right fit for my animals and hung up. I have never experienced such terrible customer service/management, being pushed and taken advantage of for my money. Stark street animal clinic WAS NEVER ran like this! If something wasn't absolutely needed for your pet it was never forced to do so, why does more blood work need to be done less than a month later when it came back completely normal?!?!?!?! They want more money! If someone would have at least acknowledged my concerns and understood me this would have went a different way. I Will never step foot in that vet and will be strongly voicing my opinion to not go here if others are looking for a vet in our area! It's very unfortunate that this company is running Dr. Barry, Dr. Powers and all their original staff's hard work, dedication into the ground and ruining what this clinic really was before! read more

I wrote this today and fired them as our vet. I'm absolutely disgusted and have contacted the Veternary board Dr Sullivan,  As you will find out today , Brian and I took Punky to Tualatin Vet ER yesterday.  Her coughing became so bad and she was so lethargic and uncomfortable that we felt we needed another eye on this situation.  300 later they gave us REAL medication for suppressing her coughing fits. They looked at the bottle that you gave her with no indication as to was the medication was on the label so they had to call YOUR office to find out what is was .  Now this is the second time the bottle was not labeled properly.  Not to mention they asked Why you gave her Cerenia in the first place. Which I questioned too. Not to mention revisiting Norman's issues last year when you REFUSED to give him more affordable medication and then I had to go elsewhere and get it . Then you lied and stated " I would have given that to you "  Funny that we find ourselves in the same situation AGAIN . You have now lost our business and that means a loss of 11 dogs .  I'm either going back to a vet we had before we came to Stark in 2006 or a vet we had when we got Punky spayed via Coupon at Wellhaven Happy Valley whose no longer there and at a new practice in Oregon City.  We are not poor BUT this unnecessary vet expenses are NOT ok . This should have been done right the first time not the second or third , same thing happened with Norman. Strike 2 .  Sorry but my pets are extremely important to us and inadequate care is a complete deal breaker . This is a zero-star rating. The previous ownership was stellar. The new version is not. Here is the letter I just sent them: Stark Street Animal Hospital 2812 NE Hogan Gresham OR 97030 To your manager and staff: My dogs were longtime patients of Dr. Barry. I brought my poodle, Teddy, in for a distemper shot that my records--which came from the practice you assumed--showed as due November 18, 2018. Here is what I experienced: 1. When I made the appointment by phone last week, the receptionist repeated the appointment time to me incorrectly. I wrote it down incorrectly, then called at 8 on Monday morning to ask whether we were expected Monday or Tuesday. I got a recorded call that told me you opened at 8am. I called back half an hour later and got the same recording, so I left a message asking for a call back to confirm. Receiving no call, I phoned back a little after 9 and was told to come in at 10:30. 2. I arrived shortly before 10:30. The receptionist was talking to a client who had concerns about her dog; she couldn't get through by phone so had driven in to talk to the doctor. I stood waiting; the receptionist said she'd be with me soon. This went on for 10 minutes, so I sat down. Another woman came in, and the receptionist started talking with her about her concerns. 3. Ten minutes later, I was still sitting, and the receptionist called to me from the desk, "I've got you checked in, for Bubba." I corrected her that I was Teddy's owner. She continued to assist the walk-in and then left for a side office. 4. Meanwhile, a male veterinarian wandered in with his laptop and asked if I'd been checked in. I said yes and inquired how Dr. Barry was doing; I was concerned about him. He replied, "He retired a long time ago." Dr. Barry founded the clinic and retired in the spring of this year. It would have been nice to have some recognition for the vet so many people trusted and relied upon. The vet wandered away. 5. Another ten minutes later, I considered leaving. The same vet returned and asked what I was there for. I said just a distemper shot. He asked if the clinic had examined Teddy in the past year. I said I imagined so; I don't travel with my vet records. He looked it up on his laptop and apparently Teddy had been seen. "This is a tech call," he said, and ushered me into an exam room. So I had waited more than 30 minutes to see a tech who was still not taking care of us. 6. The vet (who never introduced himself) then referred to the computer file and told me Teddy wasn't due for a shot. I said the last vaccination term was to expire in November. He said, no, that was a 3-year shot. Again, I don't travel with my vet records, but I had consulted them in order to make the appointment. The vet said, "I wish they'd check." In other words, the reception staff was at fault, and he was complaining to me, rather than go an mention it to them. He didn't try to make it right, such as saying that since I was there, was there anything else he could do for me, etc. Exasperated, I left. 7. In checking my records at home, I saw that the last distemper shot was due for renewal on November 15, 2018. It was not a 3-year shot. Distemper shots are annual. He was probably looking at a rabies shot date. In sum, a vet who can't read a simple record about a vaccination will not be getting my business. A practice that does not welcome clients with appointments who walk in the door will not get my business. I was going to schedule spay surgery for my puppy and buy some medications as well. I would not trust your people to conduct surgery or anything else. There is something to be said for customer service and applying oneself to the job. Dr. Barry did not have a tech give shots. He did them himself, because he might learn something about your pet in doing so. As busy as the office was, the staff always handled things professionally but with personal care. If I had to wait, at least I knew that doctors and staff were busy, not just hanging around. Yesterday, I saw five people basically loitering in the reception area while I waited more than half an hour for a scheduled appointment, only to be told to go home. You should know that Dr. Barry told me he never took a day off in 40 years. He cared about his patients and customers. He cared about his reputation and the business he had built. I will not be returning, and I will definitely tell my friends about how you do business. read more

I DO NOT recommend this clinic. I am guessing that the five star ratings are based on what Stark street clinic used to be. I would've given this clinic a five plus star rating too if Dr. Powers were still there. He and Dr. Barry built that clinic and it was based on trust and affordability. Dr. Barry recently retired and it was bought out by a corporation. Unfortunately a corporation that is so shortsighted to let Dr. Powers go after he has been there for over 35 plus years and who has built a huge following based on trust (and knowledge) is not a company I care to trust my animals with. This shows poor judgment on their part in my opinion. Dr. Powers is a rare breed. He has insight and 35 plus years of valuable experience. He also made it affordable for people to care for their animals. He himself is a big animal lover and cares about his clients as well. When I had to put my cat down I could hear him in the hallway. He was taking a deep breath and letting it out just before he came into my room. I know it was difficult for him. I've had this veterinarian for over 35 plus years and he's put several of my animals down. It has never been easy for him. He's a standup guy and a skilled veterinarian. He cares about his clients and his patients.I will not be bringing my animals back to Stark Street animal clinic. I cannot patronize a clinic that is short-sighted; and in my opinion utilizes limited decision -making skills. There Is no way I would trust this clinic to make any decisions regarding my pets. I trust Dr. Powers. I do not trust the leadership of stark street animal clinic. Dr. Powers is in the process of deciding where he will go and that is where I will be taking my pets.. I needed some advantage multi for my dog. Was told that I would need to get a check up before they could give me the advantage. At time of check up they told me I was 15 minutes late. I was not I was 15 minutes early. Why The gal then told me how lucky I was that somebody had just canceled, I was then informed that I would have to get heartworm testing done before I could get advantage. Testing came back negative. They then up sold me a bunch of products to run my bill up over $200. When I got home I looked at the invoice and noticed no advantage multi. All I wanted was some advantage for my dog. My husband took our dog in for ear issues and vaccinations. Even though we had an appointment, he waited 45 minutes before being called in. The tech wanted to run a number of tests, and my husband did not authorize the additional tests. When he checked out, he had been charged over $400 for the visit and medications. After looking at the bill when he got home, had been charged $200 for tests he had told them he did not want. He went back in and told them he wanted the tests results. The receptionist told him there were no records of lab tests and said he would be refunded the overcharged amount. After two in person visits, two phone messages which were not returned, and an email which never got a response, there had not been a refund or any information about test results. read more

So this is the closest animal care facility to where I live. My 4 month year old puppy was choking a piece of bark and was freaking out and couldn't get in enough air. I rushed him in. The front desk woman was super rude and wouldn't help this potentially dying animal until I filled out paperwork and waited in line, even though every customer around me was saying for me to go first. After about 5 minutes of unnecessary banter, we got into a room. Rude assistant, dirty patient rooms. No. We left and rushed to Banfield after waiting 10 minutes with nobody checking on this puppy. read more

My animals have been to both doctors and the vets really have the same philosophy about their work. It's a no-nonsense attitude and they both are there to get down to business vs. trying to sell you extra stuff etc. And they will tell you as much. I have been a loyal customer of this place for 8 years. Now that they have new owners it is clearly not what it used to be. Both the great vets that were there have been replaced. I have tried for 2 weeks to get the medication that my dog has been on for years, refilled. No response to phone messages and no response to the pharmacy. Finally after 3 calls got in touch with someone there that said they no longer have a working fax machine! Then the person on the phone said maybe my dog doesn't need the medications anyway. What??? New owner/leadership incredibly incompetent. Total lack of common sense and compassion. I called for refills on medication and was told meds would be ready the next day. I arrived at last known business location the following day only to find a note on the door stating they had moved around the corner. No mention of this when I called in for refills. I arrived at the new location to find a bright, shiny clinic with a different name and new people. Not necessarily a bad 1st impression but would have made sense if this information had been relayed during the initial phone call. I told the receptionist the purpose of my visit. After about 15 minutes, I was informed that I would not be getting my dog's heart medications as my pet hadn't been seen in over a year. I completely understand the need for yearly visits but the fact that I wasn't told this over the phone the day I initiated the refill request defies logic, courtesy and business sense. I drove 40 minutes for the sole purpose of picking up medications for my pet only to be told my pet would have to be seen first. Suggestion----how about bridging some meds until my pet could be seen? I'm sure such a logical suggestion couldn't be entertained by the rocket scientist that has taken over the practice. If you are going to buy patient files and retain business, this is NOT the way to instill confidence in clients. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Shocked by all the negative reviews. All the staff was so friendly and helpful! Treated our dog Merlin with such love and care! Our appointment lasted nearly an hour. Testing was fast. Dr. Roberts helped us and she was very kind. It was our first visit so it was free. The clinic was very clean and organized. One of the nurses (stephanie) gave us some free water additive to help with our pups teeth plaque build up. The nurse Ashly in the front was very kind and communitiave as well. They said I had an old bill for a previous vet and I said I had paid it. After I got home I noticed they had taken $300. more on my card. I called the people That I had previously paid and they sent me a statement saying when and how much and that my bill had been paid. I mailed it so they had to sign that they had received it and the post office sent it back to me. I went to the bank it had been to long they could not do anything. I never heard from Well Haven again and I did call and left a msg asking when I would be receiving my money and never heard from them. read more

Dr. Barry and Dr. Powers are two of the most compassionate, competent and friendly people in business. I have been taking my animals to Dr. Barry for years! Even when he was at Mt. Scott. They are honest, and not out to try to get every dime out of you. The prices are really reasonable as well. More than anything, you can trust the well being of your pets to these guys 100% of the time!! Best example is that everyone I have ever referred to this clinic is now a loyal customer. read more

Summary: Dr.Berry really knows his stuff and is very good at what he does. If you don't mind dealing with the staff that works with him then I would recommend going here. It was fairly priced (although they won't tell you how much anything costs upfront). The arrival: We had an appointment to have our German Shepard spayed as well as an umbilical hernia repaired. The lady who set up the appointment was short on the phone. We hadn't met the doctor yet so she set it up 15 mins early so that we could go over pricing for the hernia and could meet the doc. When we arrived, we got rushed into a room where our puppy was given a shot and then taken away. When we asked about pricing, no one could answer questions. We also asked how long she would have to stay, and again, no one could answer my questions. We were told to call at 2:30 after dropping her off at 9. Isn't it your job to call me? ...weird... So I HAD TO CALL THEM, and then I was informed that my puppy could not be picked up at 2:30, but instead at 5pm The pick up: It was very busy. They ran out of change. So 5:30 rolls around.... And out of the 5 assistants working (not doing much) none could go to the bank. We got put into a room while the doc had to run to the bank. Then we got taken out of the room because he wasn't there. When he returned, our room had been given away (taking another 30mins) We were then informed that they had forgotten to give out puppy the two shots that she needed. I would have just skipped them and went somewhere else just to get my puppy out of that place, but I had already paid. read more

I am not sure what to think now with Dr Powers gone. He was a good vet and I always went to him when he was at the old Companion in Gresham which sold out to Northwest Vet Clinic. There is now a new Companion that has popped up in Gresham (not real new but not the old one I refer to). My son recently had his dog spayed and since this office was in transition he was referred to the sister clinic in Clackamas. He swore he would never return because they kept trying to upsell him. Lucky he got out of there with his wallet. I will be looking to see if Dr Powers lands somewhere and until then use the Gresham Companion (at this point) I guess. What a shame. We took our newly adopted senior dog in. Front desk staff was nice. The doctor assistant was friendly. The doctor was condescending and pushed big food companies citing "science". She clearly had an agenda naming only three food companies, all large corporations. She bad mouthed "boutique" dog food. She was dismissive when we spoke about the humane society certificate that was to help pay for services. She had to call "corporate" to find out. She was rude and pushed the big corporate ideals. Not our jam at all! All we wanted was an honest, cool vet. We finished and scheduled a follow up with another vet in the area. We wouldn't take our dog back there if they paid us!!! read more

I took my Boston Terrier there upon a referral. The first time was ok at best. The veterinarian is actually really good but the office staff leave much to be desired. Leaving us standing at the counter after an already long wait and exam because she failed to look behind her to find the chart sitting there. Then we were told to wait while she took a phone call. Customer service 101...always deal with the person standing in front of you first! I was told to bring my dog back the next day if she was not any better. A day went by. She had not improved. I called and got the answering machine with an extensive greeting I had to wait through only to find out the mailbox was full. So with that I drove my dog into the clinic. It's 12:30 and nothing on the message said anything about lunch hours or anything. I walked in and was told, I can bring her back in as a walk in between 2-4. I already drove 20 miles! I'm done! UPDATE: After such poor service, leaving and having to find a new veterinarian, I ended up having to have my dog put down. Sadly I believe had we received the care necessity at the time, she may have been able to be saved. read more

I see there are a lot of comments on here about being dissatisfied with the new ownership, but I have had really great interactions (and much speedier than the old location) so far. Some of the old staff were there and frankly seemed less stressed. Exams are the same price and I was highly impressed with Dr Roth. My dog has a severe itching problem even after we irradiated a recent flea infestation and she pinpointed the problem with a few suggestions. She asked if we would like to start with the ones with the least side effects, that was also the least costly. She was very throrough, intelligent and caring. Very impressed with her care and of the staff. read more

Terrible experience! . Not a soul inside . We were a walk in and said they were completely full and couldn't help us . And not to mention all the dog urine everywhere . Gross . If you care about your pets take them to Mt Hood Medical . They are amazing there ! read more

This has got to be the best vet I've taken my dog to. Dr. Powers & Dr. Berry are excellent vets. The cost is fair compaired to other vets that are outrageous in all of their pricing. My dog had surgery here to get 5 masses removed. The cost 520.00 for all 5 removed. The other vet I used to go to wanted 600.00 just to remove 1 mass on my dogs foot. They even sent my dog home with an infected mass with no meds to stop the infection. Dr. Powers put my dog on 2 meds for infection and advised me on what I needed to do for my dog before the surgery. I drive my dog from the other side of town to this vets so that says alot for the quality of care and cost I have to admit the waiting room is very small gets crowded fast but if you let the front desk know you are waiting in your car they will come out to get you or call you to come in. This vet really works with dogs that have anxiety of being surrounded by other dogs in such a small lobby. I highly recommend this vet and Dr. Powers and Dr. Berry are the best read more

The woman vet Doctor who replaced our dogs regular Doctor was rude to my mother she tried to accuse us of being sexiest and raciest just because we asked for our regular Doctor who we already built a trust with. Her being a black female doctor had nothing to do with when my mother asked what happened to the man that was our dogs regular Doctor. She then tells us our dogs coller is too loose and tightens it too tight. Then charges us 75 for 2 little treats with medicine in it to prevent ticks and fleas. We will not be going back to this animal clinic. This place is now called wellhaven and they try to take you for as much money as they can. I suggest you find a different place to take your pets. read more

OK...I received a notice from Multnomah County that my little cat needs to renew her license which means another rabies shot. Banfield Pet Hospital wants $39.95, for the office visit, and $20.00 for the rabies shot. $60.00 for a rabies shot!!! Stark Street does not charge for the office visit and wants $20.00 for the shot. Guess where I'm going for the rabies shot? I also took my dog into to have his eye looked at. He has what is called "Cherry Eye", which is somewhat common for this breed of dog. Banfield wanted $700 for the procedure and Dr. Powers at Stark Street told me the proceed would cost only $45.00. Enough said? read more

Dr. Barry and his staff at Stark Street animal clinic are amazing. My two dogs got into a really bad fight and one of them had their ear torn completely through up the cartilage. At first I had taken her to the VCA hospital and they wanted to charge an insane amount and wouldn't work with me on payments at all. Stark Street Clinic charged me 1/3 of what the hospital wanted me to pay AND they worked out a payment plan so my dog could get help right away. I am so incredibly grateful to this clinic for everything. We will never be taking our dogs anywhere else. Thank you, Dr. Barry! read more

Stay away from this clinic. It used to be a good one when Dr. Barry and Dr. Powers Ran it. Now it is corporate run by Well Haven Pet Health with Dr. Roth running the show. I had an estimate and a scheduled time for surgery and she said I needed to pay for another Introductory visit and they would not honor the estimate price. They have the same name but moved a couple spots down in the same building and will not honor their previous commitments. Stay away. They are terrible. read more
