They also kinda corner you into a group photo when you board the ship, which is then offered for purchase for $25.00! It was buffet style with a very limited selection. Salad with roasted potatoes, chicken & beef AND they ran out of the beef! Dessert was cheesecake or chocolate cake. It all tasted like 3rd class food to me. The cruise is all-inclusive but it's only 2 hours long. You don't make it out of the Bay. Only had time for 2 drinks & then they closed the bar without notice that I heard at least! What erked me the most was a MANDATORY $10.00/pp gratuity! It's NOT a gratuity if it's mandatory! I don't think this is value for money. I definitely would NOT do this over again. read more

We booked the Calypso Breeze Evening Boat Cruise with Buffet on Starlite Cruises for my mother's 83rd birthday. It was especially important to us as my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and we drove over 3 hours to make this evening happen. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. The company called us at 6:48PM to ask how far we were from the boat. I told them our GPS showed we'd arrive by 7:05PM. They said they'd hold the boat until then. We parked and got to the dock around 7:10PM only to see the boat sailing away. We called customer service at 7:13PM and 7:15PM to reschedule the booking, but no one answered. There was no grace period, no response, and no attempt to accommodate us even after we'd communicated ahead of time. The website says the cruise departs at 7PM, but gives no clear warning that the boat leaves exactly at 7PM with no flexibility. Most cruises provide at least a short grace period. It was really disappointing for something this important. Sadly, we were left standing at the dock with no support, no service, no rebooking option, and no refund. read more

This was a decent experience. I found a coupon code online and booked directly through the company. It was easy enough to find the dock, and they offered us a coupon for $1/hour parking. Once we boarded, we were assigned a table near the window. The cruise was probably less than half empty on a November Tuesday night, so I think we got lucky. The boat seemed nice enough, yes dated, but everything seemed clean. I had read all the negative reviews about the food, so I tried not to come hungry and planned to order just apps and drinks. The apps (beef Wellington and baked brie) were tasty, so I might have enjoyed the entrees. Our server (who was great!) informed us that there would be no other opportunity to order food than at the very beginning. Because this cruise is kind of designed around a dinner service, you feel like you miss out if you don't get food. And if smelled really good. The music was fine, good selection, nice deejay (who sang a little too) and did shoutouts to people celebratrating birthdays or anniversaries. We booked StarLite dinner cruise for my wedding. We booked out the second floor. The conversations with the event coordinators before were as expected. There were a lot of rules we were happy to abide by. The woman that gave us the tour promised a very structured and committed group organizing it. We had a lot of faith in the company. I arrived at 5:20 just in time to review where everyone needed to be for the ceremony and sequester myself before being seen my guests. The ship had asked for a list of people allowed on board before the event (6 people) and when I arrived there were many people on the ship that shouldn't have been on board because no one from StarLite had managed that. Starlite tried to say that the guest told them they wouldn't leave or were difficult and I looked at the people on board and had a very hard time imagining them being rude to anyone. When I asked the people that were on board later, what had happened, It was very clear that they were not told that they shouldn't be there. They would've gotten off the ship or not boarded at all if they had known they weren't supposed to be there and someone from StarLite had managed it as they were supposed to. I started to ask, where is the manager because she was supposed to run through everything with us and tell everybody where to be, but no one knew where she was because she was so busy. There was so much confusion between our event and one that was happening downstairs Because there were so many people on board, I went back to the room reserved for the bride and we weren't able to practice anything. The manager came and tried to help me understand what was going to be happening. The one thing I told her before she walked out was that she and the photographer are on different pages and she needs to get on the same page with the photographer for what happens after the ceremony. We started the ceremony and as far as I know that went well until after the ceremony my husband and I had no idea what to do once we were presented because no one transitioned or told us what to do. So I started walking back toward the back of the ship. Then, as the photographer had announced to the entire boat, all of the guests started to go to the front of the ship for a picture, which is not what the manager wanted. It was miscommunicated chaos as the wait staff told guests to return to their table to put in their dinner orders and other people were telling them to go outside. No one knew what they were doing, and it was very embarrassing. For something that was supposed to be taken care of according to Starlite it was completely not, and it really ruined the beginning of the event which stressed me out, and I wouldn't trust them to do it again. Obviously, the frustration comes from the fact that it was my wedding and we paid a lot of money to be aboard the StarLite. It was supposed to be stress-free for me, and all of the stress was added because Starlite did not hold up their end of the deal. They used the typical "we're going to blame other people" excuses. Such as blaming the photographer that was on their vendor list and we chose because they suggested and were supposedly used to working with her, or my guests who would not have been confrontational and are extremely kind. To top everything off, they had said that we could display a slideshow of my husband and I, so my dad spent time collecting pictures and doing it in the exact way that they had requested. When we got to the ship and he handed over what they had told us to do their technology was not working, and the slideshow was not played. These are just the things that I know of, and I am sure that my family protected me from other things. It was extremely disappointing the way that things were handled by Starlite and should've been managed better. If I could go back and make different decisions I absolutely would have, which is sad because now my wedding is tainted with these memories. read more

I had been wanting to try a dinner cruise for some time, so we went with my friends on a Saturday evening. I suppose I didn't understand this wasn't just a dinner cruise... this was a party cruise. Lots of birthday and anniversary celebrations with a DJ, people singing along loudly, dancing... it was very boisterous and high energy. I would have preferred a calm, relaxing evening. This was one of the best boat cruises that I have experienced in a long time! From the time we were about to board until we left the crew made us feel warm and welcome. U have to make reservations in advance because they sellout pretty quickly. I went with my family and we were a party of six people. They sat us in the middle of the boat on the first deck. The ambience was elegant and classy. Now the ONLY thing that I will complain about is the DJ. She was an older lady and she played music that no one could relate to or wanted to dance to. She took requests so that helped out with the music tremendously! We started with our drink order which you can see in the pictures. They were all really really great. The food was delicious but I did need salt and pepper! (Lol) I ordered the Land and Sea entree, which consisted of a 8oz flat iron steak and 2 stuffed shrimp. My other family members ordered the Chicken Marsala entree, the Classic Filet Mignon entree, the Stuffed Shrimp entree, and the Salmon entree. A mandarin salad, mashed potatoes or rice, sautéed green beans, and bread with seasoned oil was complimentary. We also ordered the crab and shrimp dip and an appetizer sized beef Wellington, which were both very tasty. Our server (Ashley) was really sweet and did her best to keep our needs met while helping 6 -7 other tables. We booked Starlite Cruise to celebrate our anniversary and they did not disappoint! We were greeted by a photographer to get a photo before entry and our table was given a balloon and flowers with a special card to celebrate us. It was a bit warm inside but once we got out to the water we went to visit the deck where it was a bit more breezy. We ordered a bottle of wine and steaks for dinner and both were perfect. There was a DJ that was taking requests and making announcements for those celebrating. She created a really fun atmosphere for people to get up and dance and have a good time. You pay for your ticket to be on the boat and then choose your meal that will be served as your watching the sunset! My husband and I had a delightful evening aboard the Starlite Cruise! The check-in process was easy and smooth (once you find parking which is not easy so get there EARLY) and once checked in we were able to board and taken to our table. Our lovely server, Bree, was absolutely precious! We had a running game of hide and seek through the entire evening, as every time we got up to explore she literally had to come find us. Bree took excellent care of us! Our table was on the second floor by a window so we were somewhat able to look out at the view as we trolled through the intercoastal waterway. I do wish the lighting was a bit different inside, however, because it's somewhat difficult to actually see outside clearly from all the bright light inside. We ended up going up to the third floor deck and checking out the view. Up in the third deck there's seating so passengers can hang out up there, drink... Smoke... Visit... Play hide and seek with your server... (Jk jk) It was fun mingling with other guests as well. Dinner was nice, but I don't recommend the steak. For whatever reason you can only order medium rare or medium well. I like my steak medium... So I chosemedium well and it came back pretty well done. I didn't eat much of it and for the price you should be able to order it however you want. The rest of our food was superb! I also had a glass of wine with my food. There's a separate bar area you can order drinks from as well. One of the fun parts of the evening is the DJ! Our DJ was awesome! There happened to be a wedding reception on board and how fun that we got to be witness to this lovely couple's first dance. After dinner we had a dance party, doing the cupid shuffle and YMCA. It was great! All in all I would totally do this again! In fact we're wanting to take out of town friends and family to experience this! Great experience! A must do! read more

My husband and I booked an evening dining cruise for close to 60 people on a Friday night, a holiday weekend no less, for the StarLite Majesty. It was the night before our wedding, so we wanted to do something special for our out-of-town guests. And boy we were blown away!! First off, it was very easy to book the reservation as the phone staff was both pleasant and thorough. I was able to work out a simple payment plan, and I could release tickets or buy more if my guest count fluctuated. A few of my guests were running late due to the parking fiasco so please arrive an hour early to give yourself ample time. The yacht crew was generous enough to wait, but I would not expect more than 10 minutes of leeway. The yacht was gorgeous. We had the entire second level to ourselves, and we moved freely to the top level to get some fresh air while we waited for our food. We paid for the 10 entree option so our guests could have a variety to choose from, and we had zero complaints on the food. Even better than the food were the wait staff! And that's saying a lot. The food was good, but our staff went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. Seriously! I can't thank them enough. The scenic boat ride, exemplary service and good music made our night incredibly memorable! read more

We just finished our two hour sunset cruise. Unfortunately, the sunset was lackluster with a low cloud bank...obviously not the fault of the ship. Staff was great, very attentive service. Drinks were great and plentiful. Food not so much. Roast was ok but somewhat dry, better after dipped in soup. Chicken was very dry. Salmon was okay. Dessert (Raspberry cheesecake) was great. DJ had good tunes playing all night. We were surprised that the ship never made it into the gulf, turning around before it got there. It spent a lot of time barely moving. For years, I have seen the StarLight yachts cruising out in the waterways out by the Gulf. I finally booked a sunset dinner cruise for my husband's 64th birthday. He couldn't stop thanking me for the gift. We had the BEST time! Our server was Meredith and she was super friendly and attentive. She took several pictures of us with our cake and balloon we got with our birthday package. Stephanie was our hostess and not only did she have a great singing voice, but accommodated our request to play When I'm Sixty Four. :) We were able to see lots of dolphins, the weather was perfect and the sunset was unbelievable! Our captain managed to get out out on the Gulf just before the sunset, where I captured several pictures of sailboats in front of the setting sun. They will most likely be printed, framed and hung to remind us of the wonderful evening we had. read more

My date and I took the New Years Eve dinner cruise out of St Petersburg. We would not recommend it even at half the price. The price for two was over $400. Main issues: The boat had twice as many diners as it should have. We were packed in like sardines. Took lots of effort just to get up from the table. They advertise an open bar but it took us almost four hours to get three drink orders. Usually at least thirty minutes after ordering. Though the food was good and well presented it was served barely warm. The live entertainment turned out to be one woman singing but she was very good. The dance floor was way too small. The cruise price with dinner and 2 drinks for 4 people was $480. You can go without eating dinner which I would recommend. Also, the windows are so dirty that on the evening cruise you could hardly see much. You could've gone upstairs, but it was raining most of the night. I am told the bathrooms were very small. Picture a normal bathroom on a yacht divided into two stalls. One of the toilets was out of order. On a plus note the entertainment was very good. There was one lady with prerecorded music but the variety was good. The last half hour of the trip was just sitting and music playing. You could tell people just wanted to get off. That music was too loud and had nothing to do with the entertainer. The food was just okay, a little over priced. All in all I would look for another cruise company. We took the evening cruise out of St. Petersburg. I would also recommend an afternoon cruise where you can see more. read more

I'm unsure how they received so many high reviews but run far far away from this. Boat is very outdated, the food was inedible. We had shrimp cocktail that was warm and the sauce was chunky and you couldn't even dip the shrimp. I wished I haven't attempted because I got food poisoning following. We got two entrees that both came out over cooked to the extreme yet ice cold (sent back and taken off the bill) I am reviewing with two stars because the wait staff tried their hardest and were very hardworking. Lastly, we met a couple next to us and we're chatting when the assumed to be "manager" rudely asked to to depart the boat.
