First time doing Yacht Starship for a couple of friend's birthday and we had a blast. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the steak, pasta, and potato soup. The chicken was bland but it was a nice assortment to chose from. Buffet style as well. They had food ready immediately upon boarding which was nice The staff were great. The servers and bartenders were quick to keep our drinks filled (open bar the whole cruise) and were friendly. It is a 3 level yacht. One floor we ate at, the top was a viewing deck and middle floor had a dance floor and dj. For the price, we had a blast and definitely would recommend this again for a fun birthday or celebration. Booked a cruise with food for two birthdays! The food was pretty good. They had steak, salmons, and chicken. The biggest hit was surprisingly the potato and onion leek soup! Our server was wonderful! She bringing drinks which was included with our ticket which was nice. You can add too shelf or other beverages on top of the ticket price. Our sweet waitress even brought us our dessert to the second deck with the DJ! The music was so fun and the dj deck was air conditioned with a bar where you could order more drinks. We decided to do the sunset dinner cruise on a whim. Shout-out to the Yacht StarShip team for providing excellent customer service on a Sunday evening to help us make a decision. We had called to make a same-day reservation about an hour before departure. All phone lines were busy, so we left a voicemail. I was expecting them to get back to us the next business day, but they actually called us back within 20 minutes. Their responsive customer service enabled us to figure out our plans, head over to the dock, get a last-minute ticket, and enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner on the Gulf for our first evening in Clearwater. Pro tip: If you do know your plans ahead of time, book earlier to get a better price. Prices rise as seats fill up. Tickets without the dinner are also available and still include drinks (but with a four drink limit). We got our tickets at the ticket window on the dock. It was a little past 7pm and people were already lined up and starting to board. When we purchased our tickets, they asked if we were celebrating anything (we weren't) and if we had any food allergies (we didn't). We then got in line with the rest of the guests, and it was a smooth intake/boarding process. As we boarded the boat, we were greeted by the friendly crew and they snapped a picture of our embarkation (available for purchase later in the evening, or included if you buy the $35 celebration package). As we walked into the dining room, the buffet was already open and people were filling their plates. We were seated at our private table and our server, Karen, greeted us immediately and took our drink orders. Karen was amazing! She explained to us how the "Free Bar at Sea" worked and showed us the drink menu. She was really speedy at fulfilling drink orders and gave us great cocktail recommendations to try. We really felt taken care of all night. During dinner, a crew member came around with the printed embarkation photo in a souvenir frame available for purchase (~$25). We opted not to purchase the photo, and I appreciate that they weren't pushy about it. There was so much food at the buffet. There was tomato basil soup (our soup of the day), a Caesar salad, pesto chicken, honey truffle Dijon potatoes, fresh veggies, Boursin salmon, portobello beef, pasta Florentine, and dinner rolls. Though plentiful and lavishly presented (complete with dish labels), food was a 3/5. The potatoes and beef were super salty, while the pasta was super bland. Out of the proteins, I thought the salmon was cooked the best, and I enjoyed the flavor of its creamy Boursin white asparagus sauce. For dessert, we had our choice between a strawberry cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake, which was a rich and luxurious way to end the meal. Cruise route - 3.5/5. I've been on other dinner cruises in other cities and those have been more informational with the sights. I suppose this was more of a scenic cruise (primarily for the water and sunset) than a tour-type cruise, and maybe in Clearwater there aren't really any sights to point out, but I would've liked to hear some narration or identification of landmarks, wildlife, etc. from the captain or other staff members during the cruise. It also seemed like we were going in circles to cruise around the Gulf until sunset. Service - 5/5. Karen was superb, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and pleasant. Guests who noted that they were celebrating something received personalized messages on their dessert plates that said, "Happy Birthday," "Happy Anniversary," etc. The DJ also gave the celebrants special shoutouts. Don't forget to tip - there was a $10 gratuity (per person) added to the check at the end of the night - but the crew definitely works hard to earn their keep. Vibe - 5/5. The dining room on the lower level felt fancy. The dance floor on the upper level felt like a party. The outside deck was where you could enjoy the water, watch the sunset, and turn on vacation mode. Between eating dinner, enjoying the open bar, and watching the sunset, the two hours flew by - we hardly had any time to dance! (But don't worry, we got some line dances in there.) When the party was over and we disembarked, we were provided with a sweet final goodbye from the crew, complete with a warm chocolate chip cookie (my favorite kind of party favor)! This was a kind and tasty gesture and representative of the hospitality Yacht StarShip provided all night. I recommend Yacht StarShip for the quality service and stunning sunset views. read more

We sailed in the middle of a strong lighting/rain storm. The boat was pretty nice. The buffet food was good. The music was everything. I loved how the DJ accommodated everyone on the boat. The music was so much fun. They really did a great job keeping everyone safe and entertained. Be aware there is a gratuity fee added at the end of the voyage. The service was top tier. This was a great excursion. Its a small yacht but laid out great. Once you get on board, the buffet is ready for you. There is more than plenty of food and we were stuffed. I can say for the price, it is a phenomenal deal for food, drink and simply the cruise around the bay itself. I'm not a big drinker but having a nice Cabernet was great. The sunset was beautiful and to walk off debarkation and at the dock you were served a nice warm chocolate chip cookie was a nice treat. Companies don't have to go the extra step in a world of shrinkflation and rising cost to cut out small things, but they finished with a checkered flag that impresses. Just a great dinner cruise and if you don't enjoy it, it's your own fault. read more

This was a comped trip, we were responsible for our tip, beverages, and appetizers. We really liked our waiter and believe he made our trip a full 5 star. The reservation process is simple and can be done by calling the reservation line that has helpful customer service representatives. The entire experience from the crew from start to finish was nothing but exemplary. Our server, Jacee was unbelievably friendly and social. She was excellent at her job and she deserves a massive shoutout. The chef did a great job at preparing the food for such a large group of people. The duration was about 2 hours and everything went smoothly. There was a DJ/emcee that personalized birthday and anniversary messages. It was our last night in Clearwater and we wanted to do something fun as a family with 2 boys (16 and 9). We found Yacht Starship and thankfully they had same day booking availability. It was around $275 for all of us but with dinner, open bar and a beautiful sunset cruise the cost is well worth it. We all enjoyed the buffet dinner and I was grateful our server was able to make mocktails for the boys (which they really enjoyed). Of course, the sunset cruise is stunning. All the guests on board were kind to help out others take their sunset pics. If we are back in the Clearwater area we would definitely book again. Embarked on a dinner cruise for my BIL surprise birthday party. Be prepared for a parking disaster! Parking is shared with marina and beach restaurants so it quite difficult to find a spot. I highly recommend getting there extra early to find a spot and get onboard in time. We couldn't find parking anywhere so had to park down at the Hyatt garage. Dinner was a sit down and menu dinner. They take your drink and dinner order prior to leaving the marina dock. Wait staff was friendly but seemed to be out of sync with each other. Half of our dining room had bread and salad even our half had absolutely nothing. Our waitress apologized letting us know that the others shouldn't have brought out food yet but ours was coming. I had the Strawberry Spritz for a drink which was strawberry vodka with sparkling wine. For my meal I had the stuffed shrimp which was served with asparagus and rice. The bread that was served at the table was delicious and our table was so hungry that was asked for more! The additional bread was not as fresh and hard lol. My SIL fish was not good! The rice and the shrimp were the winner of the evening. It was nice sitting on the top deck on the comfy couches available just wish it wasn't a smoking area also! The smell actually eventually ran us back downstairs. I think that if you also pay so much for the yacht dinner experience that you parking should somehow be comped but it's not. read more

My husband and I were in Clearwater on vacation celebrating our anniversary! We decided to do the sunset cruise and loved it so much! This was one of our favorite parts of our trip. They took us out for a 2 hour cruise around the area, we got to see dolphins and listen to music along the way while getting to watch the sunset. They were so sweet to have a happy anniversary card and shoutout while the cruise was going. We even got to hear the song we had our first dance to which I know wasn't planned but still so cool to hear! The food was yummy and they also provide you with free drinks with the dinner buffet. We had booked with another local dinner cruise and had a change in plans, they were not flexible at all and honestly kinda rude. We were walking the docks and found this spot, I was surprised because I scoured the internet for more sunset cruises and didn't see any, so this was a good surprise. The boat looked newer, cleaner, and the experience looked better, so we walked down and got our other tickets refunded and decided to jump on here for the night. It was the best decision. First of all, food was fantastic. Service was fantastic. The boat was fantastic. There's a front patio to start the night, and another 2 floors. Wine was good, drinks were good. We got our spot on the top patio and didn't leave, it was perfect for the sunset. One thing: they don't tell you that tips are required and they'll find you at the end of the night to pay them, I wish they would have included it in the price. Otherwise, fantastic trip. The braised beef was almost perfect, and the sauce for the salmon was good. I did not try the actual salmon (never liked it). The soup was a grouper chowder. That was VERY good! I'd actually like to have the recipe. The vegetables were cauliflower. It was ok. Salad was nicely done and the balsamic dressing seemed locally made, but I'd not bet on that. Drinks were included in the price. Very tropical. Just wish there had been a dark beer. Doesn't fit the motif, but it's my preference. Quite pleased, overall. read more

I had an amazing night! I went on the sunset Happy Hour cruise for my birthday. The price included 4 drinks and we could sit anywhere we wanted on the rooftop or in the bar area. The bar also had a dance floor and DJ for those who wanted to be indoors and cool off. I loved being on the rooftop, great ocean views and smooth sailing. Drinks were strong and tasted good. I chose not to do the dinner option because it was indoor seating and I wanted to be outside the entire time. Highly recommend doing just the drink option and snagging a good spot on the rooftop before the dinner crowd comes up after their meal. read more

Hubby and I were looking for a unique experience and figured we would give a go on a yacht. We've been on a few boat dinner cruises before but never a yacht so we wanted to be fancy and try it out. I gotta say, it was definitely worth it. I don't even remember the meals we had on the other boats but I am pretty sure I will be raving about this place's food for years (and wishing I had their recipes!). It is set up buffet style but they ask you to wait until your group of tables is called in order to keep the line manageable. I'm not sure if it was free or if we ordered it but we got an appetizer of crab fondue. We also went ahead and got an alcoholic drink in the biggest cup they had since you could keep the glass your drink came in. It was so good we were tempted to get another but instead hubby asked the bartender for something sweet and she made up something for us. Their chicken dish was the best and a good combination was mixing its sauce with the rice pilaf. The food itself was good enough I wish they had a restaurant I could go to so I could eat it again. The cruise portion was ok but would be better if you were with a large group of people you knew who wanted to dance or even hang out. Or if you were the kind of person who enjoyed chilling on a boat. I'm not but it was still fun. The music was a nice addition to listen to while we cruised along. The only thing hubby and I both agreed was a little off was that the bathroom sinks are so close to the edge you pretty much need to touch the sink in order to wash your hands. Germophobes, bring your hand sanitizer. All in all this was a great trip and I would definitely return if we found ourselves in the same area again. Over 1/2 wait in only 1 buffet line available on the ship and by the time I reached it, they were out of salad, fruit, and bread & it was not ever replenished. The food itself was edible but bland. We went on a dinner cruise out of Clearwater. Parking was very busy but we lucked out and got a spot directly in front of the ship so that started our evening off great. We had called in for our tickets and they emailed a voucher. Make sure you get the ticket from the booth before getting in line. The employees were super friendly. The dinner was a buffet, which I didn't enjoy as much a plated meal. We ate quickly and then moved upstairs for the view. After puttering around in the bay for a bit, we headed out under the bridge for the sunset. It was beautiful and the weather worked with us. On our way back in, the DJ started and people started dancing on the 2nd floor. We are not party people but it was fun watching the few people they convinced to get on the dance floor. Half hour after docked, the rain started. It was a really nice night and we would use the company again. Probably try the Tampa ship next. read more

We had a couple visiting us from Texas so we were doing tourist things. I was expecting a boat full of 75 year olds but i was wrong. There were people of all ages, couples, and familys. When we entered the boat we had to ask to sit next to our friends. They made it happen. If you buy tickets seprately with someone make sure you let them know you want to sit together before you arrive. Dinner starts as soon as you board. Get your food quick because the line stays pretty long and you want to have time to drink. I tried all the food. The soup and salad were good. The bread rolls were soft and fresh. They had rice pilaf, veggies, salmon, chicken marsala, and a beef dish. My favorite was the beef. Very tender and delicious. Dessert was cheescake or a banana chocolate cake. We shared a cheescake. Our sever was bringing us drinks while we ate. Very good service on the boat. After we ate we went up stairs and started ordering drinks at the bar. The second floor has a dance floor and a bar. Drinks were good and its all you can drink. You can go outside on the front and back of the boat and also on a third level that is outside as well. We saw an amazing sunset that night. My only complaint is that its only 2 hours. Would be cool to have another 30 minutes or so. We didnt want to get off the boat. We had an awesome time and so did our friends. Its definetely a great deal. Boat ride, dinner, and drinks for like $65. They require a $10 tip per person at the end. read more

Decent dinner cruise in the heart of Clearwater. I like that they go out of their way to acknowledge special occasions like Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduations etc... They will call out your party via the loud speaker, add a nice note on your dessert plate... That's about it, really nothing over the top. I've taken the cruise at the Starship in Channelside. This one is a bit similar. But I must say, If I had a choice between the two, I'd take the one at Channelside. It's a bigger and better version. But this one is not bad, I wouldn't be against trying the out again. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: Decent food, this one caught me by surprised, It was Buffett style with Chicken, Fish, Brisket, Salad, Green Beans, Potato Links.. It's all good. Above average Service, again nothing overwhelming, but staff was attentive enough. The Cruise of course, watching the Sunset was priceless. Cons: Ship was on the small side. Not a lot of room along the sides to enjoy the sites and watching the sunset. More of an issue if they sell out. The appetizer is design for small parties, the staff mentioned they are served based on the number of people. The Cost is a bit much. They sell you a picture taken of your party as you enter the ship for $20. Drinks alone ran $95 in total for a party of 4 adults and 2 kids. The Music. It's not horrible, but it's there for a particular crowd. read more

we had reservations for a dinner cruise on Father's Day. We were there at least one and 1/2 hours ahead of departure time. We were not able to find a parking place and therefore lost the money for the cruise. I had purchased it as a gift for my husband on Father's Day. To say it was disappointing, is far from strong enough. We were told to be there early because of heavy traffic. I would say an hour and a half is more than enough. There is just not sufficient parking for everything that is going on in the area. I am now out all the money that I had spent for that and it was not cheap. Under those circumstances, I would have hoped I could have possibly rescheduled, but that was not an option. read more

Awful experience. Waited all day, watching the weather forecast for a cancellation. All other dinner cruises cancelled but this one. The captain told us he might not make it out of the harbor before being called back, didn't even make it 5 minutes! They wanted us to eat a subpar dinner where they ran out of food while docked. We went on with family and friends and had a great time. The food was good. I wouldn't say amazing but I ate enough. The salad was great. The veg was done right. It had a great roasted flavor, was seasoned well, and had great color. The pasta, unfortunately, was overdone and the sauce was sucked up so it was dry. The rice was very good. The chicken had great flavor but, as what always seems to happen with chicken breast dishes on a buffet, was dry and a bit tough. The braised beef was very good. The sauce was tasty and because it was braised, it was tender. The salmon, although it was a bit more done than my personal liking, was the item I liked the most. The sauce was delicious and the salmon was tender. The dessert (choice of red velvet or chocolate/banana cake) was excellent. We enjoyed the drinks. We all started with some of the cocktail selections (mostly tropical) but then ventured off into a dirty martini and some other ideas. We, of course, loved that the price is inclusive of the drinks. It also makes for shorter waits for drinks (not having to worry about making change and such)...just get the drink and go. The ride itself was great. The weather was amazing and there are several vantage points to check out the scenery (3 levels). There was one rocky time (where you walked funny...lol), but other than that, the ride was smooth. Sounds silly but I was actually impressed with the restroom. Clean, well appointed, great for a boat facility, and was a nice looking and modern motif. The music was ok. During dinner, it was a very strange selection. I felt like I was in a time warp from the 60's, 70's, and early 80's. I did not feel it was good music for the "dining time". It was more like listening to the "oldies station" on the radio. However, later on, after some requests, the music got better and we were on the dance floor. Lastly, the service was amazing. All of the crew and service staff were very nice and accommodating. They wore smiles the whole time and made conversation to make your time special. Our server was amazing. She was very patient, personable, and very attentive. She found us on the second level to make sure we were not in need of anything. She even arranged for Bri to take another picture of my family because one of them missed the boarding photo opportunity. And in the end, they delightfully gave the passengers a "parting gift" of a warm chocolate chip cookie when we disembarked. I wish it was a bit longer. Maybe 2.5 or 3 hrs would be perfect. Two hours is a little too short to eat (especially if the line was long), drink, be social, walk the ship, take in the sunset and scenery, and dance. However, all in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. We will recommend it to others and would love to do it again. The next time, we will know the layout and the timing better so we can plan accordingly. read more

Be warned do not go on this cruise i booked this for my daughter's 21st birthday thinking it was something different and she would have a wonderful day.I paid alot of money for this experience and thought as long as she is happy then i am fine with whatever the cost is.We got on the boat and it was a let down from there we paid extra for a window table.We had no server no ome came over i was told it was a buffet it is a very small buffet not many options at all no bread and butter service for sure not worth the 100 a head it cost me.There was (3) options for food and we had a family member who is a lil more pickier with their food so there was supposed too be a kid buffer on board that was what i was told.They bring u a plate of frozen chicien tenders and frozen mac n cheese and if u are lucky u can get this because it has too be ordered ahead of time.They took no time too make my daughter's day special in anyway.I am so sorry i booked this cruise.I reached out too speak too them about the factor of the food and that we had no server on board and that my daughter basically got ignored and i got nothing but the run around.Everyome was passing the buck around and blaming the other departments they basically stole 72 in gratuity as i paid gratuity but never once saw a server.I have been in customer service for over 30 years this by far is one of the worst experiences i have ever been through.So honestly save your money and book something so mucb more professional then this.Oh and for all they put us through they offered us 10 percent too come back and do it all over again lol mind u the same discount they give the military. read more

Tonight was amazing. My Fiancé and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary and was running a little behind and the staff was very accommodating. They waited for us and we were greeted by John, the CAPTAIN (manager). Throughout our time there our waitress Jessica did such an exceptional job, she was on her first or second day on the Yatch however she was a really good waitress who ensured that we had a great time. Each time we stepped away from our table she would find us to let us know when our meals were ready, I wasn't a fan of the Lemon Pepper Snapper that was served and she insisted on taking it back and asked the chef to prepare something else for me. Also huge shoutout to the chef for making me a fresh plate of Land and Sea after all the meals were served. My food came out hot and fresh, it was super delicious and I would advise everyone to try it. John also came over a few times to ensure that we had a great time as well as seeing about the food. The entire staff was great and very pleasant, the views were great and we had an exceptional experience. I only took one star away because of the first food that I received, and because one of the bathroom stalls were closed which was kind of an inconvenience when there are tons of women on there haha other than that everything else was perfect, shout out to you Jessica, you got this! Food was out to eat before you got seated...if u had a table for 2..your placed in the middle and u have a line of people waiting to go to buffet right next to your table.. music somewhat sucked.. the chicken was so tuff.. food was not great.. silverware soup spoon had water ring in center..so not that clean.. the ride was nice .. but no sunset.. too cloudy.. once was enough.. people lined up to get off boat before it docked.. the staff was nice.. just not that big of a deal.. for the cost read more

Nice evening with great views. Sunset cruise gave a nice view of the city and also of the complexity of the waterways around Tampa. The captain was knowledgeable and made sure we got a super view at multiple times during the trip so we could get some pictures and postcard type settings. Clearwater version was very nice. Good food (it's a nice buffet on a boat, it's not going to be Delmonico's), especially the roast beef and the vegetables. Service was terrific; our server Sam was attentive, friendly, and prompt, and all the staff were smiling and helpful. The house wine was pretty good. Views were fantastic and the trip around the bay and out to the Gulf was gorgeous. Music originated in the bar area and was nice background on the other levels; tunes were both vintage (mostly '80's) and current. Great places to sit inside and out to enjoy the surroundings.
