I've had physical therapy before, even at the Hospital of Special Surgery, but this was a far better experience. I've never respected a therapist the way I do Haoyu. He won't let me give up. He really pushes me for my own good. He explains every exercise in depth, including where your supposed to feel it and the benefit.

I am very impressed with the progress he has made and we have 2 more weeks to go.

Mmm. I could go for some Pizza. Anyway.. In 2020 I suffered a tear in my supraspinatus tendon. I did 6 months of physical therapy (at a different place) with no improvement, and the only improvement coming after a cortisone shot. A year later and I have another tear in the tendon, plus a slap tear and adhesive capsulitis. The doctor told me I needed surgery, and I asked about physical therapy. He responded to me by saying he didn't believe physical therapy is going to help, and it didn't help last time Boy was he wrong. My experience with physical therapy here was completely different. The team here is trained to another level, everyone is a Ph.D, but they're also incredibly engaged, pleasant, and supportive. They're genuinely nice people. They pushed me and got me to be functionally cured and saved me from 6 months to a year of recovery and rehab. Facilities: brand new, this is a new location and everything is shiny and brand new. Equipped with everything you would need for all kinds of exercises and therapy Administration: seamless - charge me automatically for my copay, bill the insurance, never had to worry about it Care and attitude: superb. Chris and Darren complemented each other and pushed me to where I needed to be, without getting me overzealous and injuring myself further. Lena and Ashley were sweethearts who really took care of me, and made me feel like a superstar every time I came round. Follow up care: These guys (with my blessing and explicit consent) opened a direct line of communication with my personal trainer and pilates instructor so that I can maintain the progress I've made and avoid injury in the future. I owe these guys a debt that I cannot properly articulate in words. And if I hadn't had a completely different experience with PT elsewhere, I wouldn't know to appreciate just how outstanding they are.

The staff here is very friendly and I have had nothing but a good experience here. I have been to Physical therapy in the past in "other" places and I have to say Brick-Run has been one of my best experiences. I feel that I have gotten a lot more attention here than I have in the other places I have been too. The physical therapist (Gurjeet) for me is amazing. He really is attentive and clear about what I need to do to feel better. He really spends time to stretch out my shoulder to loosen it up so that I can do some specific exercises. His staff sets me up for my specific sets of exercises. They make sure that I do them correctly. I am supervised until I understand what I am doing. I don't need someone to stare at me to do the exercises because I have to be able to do them on my own so that I can do them at home. I know that I have to put the work in to make my shoulder better but I feel that this office has really helped me with my problem.

I came away with a total of maybe 4 stretches to do. My wife also went there for brief period. They charged her $75/session for ins co-payment. After 10 sessions she found out from her ins co. co-payment should have been $15. $600 overcharge in first 10 sessions. She is also at another PT provider. She did get the refund.

She takes her background in neuroscience, as well as here massage training, to treat her patients with the utmost care, not leaving any stone unturned in her goal to alleviate their pain. No matter how busy it was, she always made sure to give me at least 15-20 minutes of her undivided attention. Her caring soul and bright smile brought me so much peace during a time of pain. Consuelo not only helped with my pain in the moment, but she taught me to understand my own mind-body connection so that I could continue to take better care of myself moving forward. Finding an excellent physical therapist can be hard to do... in fact I usually "save up" my issues…read moreuntil I have a business trip to Tucson, where my favorite PT resides. However, after discovering Flex I don't think I'll be doing that any longer! The staff at Flex on the Upper West Side (Stephen, Ariella, Michael, Madison) are extremely knowledgeable and really CARE about their patients. I recently completed 20 hours of observation at Flex as part of my PT school application, and watching these guys was a great reminder of why I'm going into the profession myself. Time and time again I saw each one of them exhibit patience, respect, and caring compassion towards every person under their care. The next time I need PT for something, I'm definitely going to Flex, and have already referred one of my friends there. It was double of what I'm paying at other out of network places. During the treatment there was a lot of small talk to fill the air, not a lot of patient education and treatment. My PT was even shooting the sh*t with other PTs during my visits. Maybe that's what some people like about this place, the PTs are very casual. However, if you're a serious athlete or just looking for the best treatment (good exercises, stronger manual therapy, and other more modern modalities such as laser, heat, shockwave, etc.), you should consider another spot.
