I was told such amazing things about this place that I decided to go here to get my nails done for my boyfriend's brother's wedding. I got almond shaped acrylics with white tips. First of all, something I don't like when nail technicians do is try to get you to get your nails done the way they want them. I was asked if I wanted sparkly nails at least 5 times after I initially said no thank you. Same with the length - I wanted them shorter, but my nail tech insisted longer is better. I'm sure she was just trying to make my nails look better, but people have different opinions on what looks better and what's more functional to them. Either way, she worked a while on my nails and I could tell she wanted them to look great. Everyone was super nice and the price was fair for the shape and design ($50). The only thing was that after around a week, I was already getting hair caught in my nails because the nail part closer to the cuticle was already receding a little. Usually at other places, that takes around 2+ weeks for that to start happening. I would come here again to give it another shot (even the woman who was getting her nails done next to me said she and her whole family have been coming to Starwaves for years and that they drive 30 minutes to get there). I'd try maybe dip powder or get different nails next time, but overall it was an okay experience. read more

Horrible! I'm not sure how there are so many good reviews. First, my daughter and I wanted our current nails taken off. It was an entire ordeal to get them to do it. Ann the own did my daughters nails and they ended up being ok. The girl I had was horrible. She was filing my first hand as my daughter was drying her nails. My daughter had to wait at least 45 minutes for me. My nails ended up being thick and wide and uneven. I had at least three spots that were bleeding. Ann texted and offered to fix them for me for free. She wasn't ever available when I was...hmmm. I went to my usual place today and paid to have them fixed. They couldn't believe someone would let them leave with their nails looking that bad. I will never be back. read more

Absolutely blown away by this place always and all their services! I was in need of a last minute manicure ( dip and tips) and they were able to get me in right away and take care of all my nail needs. Kim took the time to help me find the perfect color and even cut away at my cuticles since she saw how bad they were which usually is never done at any salon. I mentioned to Kim I was on a time crunch as I had a flight to catch and she made sure to make my nails perfect and even helped speed up the drying process so I could be on my way. I always make appointments but I've seen them able to accommodate walk ins frequently. Ann is always looking for fun new ideas and stays up with trends in style and colors. I'm never disappointed here. I started with the no chip and was introduced to the dip manicures and there's no going back. Absolutely horrible experience! Never ever going back to this place again! I went to this place yesterday with my sister and they did horrible jobs on both of us. I got a full set no chip nails and I asked for coffin shape and the lady was filing way too hard and make almost all of my fingers bleed and she was gripping my fingers so hard not caring that she was hurting me. Then she gave me these very ugly square shape and bumpy nails that looked nothing like the nails that I wanted (I had a photo for inspiration which she didn't even follow) I didn't want to come off as rude so I didn't say anything but when I showed my sister she spoke up and told the lady my sister doesn't like her nails so then the owner that was there got mad and said I should of spoke up before the color was put on and she then told me that she will fix them and she proceeded to file my nails hurting me as well and putting nail glue directly on my bloody cuts!!! When I asked for a color change bc I was so unhappy with the color and the way it came out she proceeded to tell me no. She then filed my nails down to these small thin little nails and still charged me the full price and told me to come back for a fill in! I paid 53$ for something that I'm not even happy with. Do not go to this place it was a absolutely horrible experience this has never happened to me before! I will never go to this place ever again! read more

I had the full set done. It looked great for 2 weeks. Then it slowly started breaking and falling apart. Nail after nail, in 3 days all 10 of my nails were broken and fell off. I have had many full sets done in my lifetime but never had the issue of it falling off and breaking on its own. Usually that's the strongest hold you can have on your nails. I'm going to take a guess and say the glue they use is no good. It doesn't hold. Either way I will not be going back. read more

Ehhh, the only good thing about my visit was that they took me as a walk in when my first choice place was too busy (my fault for not making an app). First of all let me start that we all came to expect certain things when we have our nails done, like back massage with pedi, hot towel wrap, etc - no such thing here. Very small place, looks old - could use some freshing up. Second thing - not the greatest organization/ teamwork. I had 3 people working on my nails at different times. First lady said she will start with my nails. She cut & file them. Than out of the blue she said that another lady will do my toe nails & asked me to move...???!! So I moved... After my pedi, she started to work on my hands & again out of the blue in the middle of my mani she said that yet another lady will finish it....?!?!!! Seriously, I could not believe it! At this point I was getting aggrivated. You are right - no tips here, who should get it, all 3??!?! Last but not least it took me a good 5 minutes to explain to 3 ladies that I wanted color french mani with the ring finger a different color. Really not that complicated. My bill was $65 which is about $10 more than my place for the same service.... read more
