So I don't know what happened, but I have never been done so badly by a stylist. She then wanted to tell me that I never mentioned a fade and that I just said one on the sides and back. Was also left with incredibly uneven sides, a crooked line around my head, and it was just the WRONG cut. I asked if she cuts men's hair often and she said they are her number one clients. That was obviously not true, unless they leave with some bad cuts. I offered to pay for the service, as awful as it was, but she told me to "go pay someone else" which I was happy to do over at Strop and Blade less than a mile away. If you want to do a little self-care and clean up the hair for the Zoom, this is the place to go. Mi and Miya have done a fantastic job with safety measures for COVID-19 all the way through from equipment sanitation to guest protocols. Temperature check and sanitizer upon entrance, guests taken care of in different rooms by Mi or Miya, and equipment is all covered and everything is scrubbed down and sanitized in between guests. Not only was Melissa able to help match the subtle color that I had in my hair (to cover resistant grays that I've had since my teen years), but she also cut 9" off of my length. I used to work in a salon years ago, so I know that a great cut takes precision and time, and Melissa gave me a GREAT cut. I don't even have to blow dry my hair now--it just falls into place and looks perfect right out of the shower. I'm sure others can empathize with what a game changer that is. Not only that, but Melissa's excitement about the cut made all of my jitters about such a drastic change disappear. The sweet ladies who work at the other stations were encouraging too!
