It was a fun hour of entertainment! I took 3 15 year old boys who where totally into it and want to go back to do the Doctor's Office, we did the Zombie room and they figured it out with almost 7 minutes left, and 2 clues given. I think they should have at least 1 actor that does something to scare everybody, which you can pay extra for on the weekends only. At regular price of $40-$50 per person and having their name, they should have some horror,scary twist to it. They were creative with the whole experience, you had to really think and work as a team and talk it through to each other and put your heads together to figure it out, and was alot of fun doing so for us! Warning-Olive street is a one way street and is also where you park. Along both sides there is metered parking that takes only cards! They have a comic book for sale section, which range from $2-$50* (maybe $100). Old classic ones mainly-Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman. I do recommend going, it was fun, and I will be looking for another Groupon to go back. Although it is not too scary for under 12 year olds, I dont think they'd be of any help to solve it, and I think that a group of 3 or 4 of them could do it without an adult (except they require one to go in and stay with them when under 18). read more

We had a good time doing the doctor's office escape room. The comic book store in the front is a cool touch. We bought two comics for the kids. I could consider coming back, but that is if they would "fix" the restroom. The day of our scheduled visit, I get a text message letting me know the restrooms are out of order. I've read similar reviews here about that and I assumed that after months of the restroom being out of service that it would be fixed by now. I guess not. If you want to use the restroom then you have to go down to the Starbucks or the bar and then come back. It's an inconvenience. If you come here just count on not using their restroom. They might as put that on their website. And that is the reason for the 3 stars. It's an established business with no restroom for paying customers. read more

Greeted warmly by Kai. It's a blink and you would miss it spot downtown Los Angeles... It's a lot bigger than it looks like and it's kind of cool. There's like a comic book store element to it as well as an escape room... I don't know why but their bathroom wasn't working so they did mention to please make sure that you have used the bathroom because there is no bathroom. I've never done an escape room so this is my first time and we picked the doctor like the mad scientist Doctor Who like created this subhuman people and we had to find like a virus to save the world and it was a lot of fun. It was challenging so you have to work together to get the clues right so it's a really good teambuilding exercise They asked if we wanted live actors we said yes so there is an element of interaction with another person which was really good. That was Bindi. Bindi played a very good scary, demented doctor patient or whatever I was really surprised at all of the different rooms that you go through and how the story kind of really makes sense and leads you to the escape it was fun. It was a challenge. I liked it. Legit scary. I would definitely do it again. Parking is dicey I would not try to park downtown LA. Not worth it. Uber there. Can't take pics inside the rooms. (Understandable), our black light didn't work. One flashlight died. That was okay. We got it fixed. If you follow the clues correctly, you will get out and be lead to another room. Then another until you get out. If you need help, then will gave you hints. (Don't be afraid to take the help)...we needed help! A few suggestions: 1) Get a locker for people to put their stuff in. 2) Make sure batteries are fresh. 3) Scary music and ranting in rooms on speaker; make lights flicker. This was my first time doing an escape room so, I didn't know what to expect. Glad I went with people that had experience escaping. If it wasn't for them, I would not have made it out. Salem was working in the front and was super helpful. He gave us enough clues to figure things out but, we still needed to work for it. The actor Anatol was great at scaring the shit out of my party. Some members of the party ended up on the floor crawling for their lives. They were legit scared, I could see fear in their eyes. Over all it was a dope experience and I'd do it again. This was a great experience for my first escape room! I definitely realized I would never be able to actually survive if there was a mystery because we would not have made it without those hints. The service was amazing. We set up an appointment online and there were late policies but we came in a little late and had to wait for other but they were very understanding. There is a 15 min grace period after we came in and after that we could start without our group or wait and get some time off. We were able to start and there was more then enough time for us to solve the mystery. There was a little seating/waiting area where they also sold comic books and they had street parking. We did the zombie one and Kai was an amazing host and then suddenly also the zombie . The hints were a life saver and honestly scary because they would knock so loud but I definitely would recommend. read more

My partner and I did the Captive Chamber escape room, in which you have 50 minutes to escape! Seems like this is their beginner room, and is perfect for two people. We've done a few escape rooms before and were able to escape this one with 11ish minutes left. The game masters are super kind and helpful! Theres street parking (paid and non-paid) around, as well as 2/3 spots behind the building, it's a bit sketch though. We will for sure come back! read more

This was our first Escape Room experience and let me say it was very underwhelming. We chose the insomniac theme because it looked scary. Let me reassure you that nothing is scary about any of these escape rooms. The only reason any of these escape rooms would be worth it is if they were $10 per person. Anything above that feels like a waste of money and time. Take my mistake as a lesson and don't waste your money on such an underwhelming excuse of an escape room. This place will leave you saying at the end "that's it?". I don't see how they have so many good reviews. Don't be fooled! read more

Getting there did seem odd because it didn't seem like there was anything on that street but once we walked in it was a different environment. My friends and I booked an escape room last minute last night, looking forward to trying a scary-themed one for the first time. While Salem was explaining the rules, we could hear other groups screaming nonstop, which made us a bit unsure of what to expect. The puzzles were engaging and challenging, and our group got stuck a few times. Thanks to Salem and Kai for helping make the experience enjoyable! Our original booking was for 9:35 PM, but since the venue didn't have restrooms available, we had to leave to find one. Salem was accommodating and moved our start time to 10 PM, which we appreciated. It would be helpful if the venue addressed the restroom situation to avoid any inconvenience for future guests. There is no free private lot to park so you will have to find street parking or park at the paid lots. read more

I went here for my friend's birthday, and I had a very good experience!! The interior was really cool and dark and ominous which added to the horror element. Before we went into the room, I thought the escape room wasn't gonna be that hard (we did Zombie Lab so beginner level). I consider myself and my friends pretty smart, but it took us a good while to start understanding how to escape. We opted in for the live actor and zoo-wee, it was pretty scary. The room wasn't that big either so we were in close proximity to the actor . We had 50 minutes to escape and had 7 minutes and 17 seconds left to spare. Ultimately, it was really fun. The only note I want to add was that you can hear the other room next to you so you can hear their screams, chattering, etc. Lucky for us, the other team wasn't that loud, but I feel sorry for them because I was pretty loud...whoops! also, it was $43.70/person for a party of 5. a bit pricey but i would lowkey go again read more

Room - Zombie difficulty 3/5 This is a Generation 1 escape room so a lot of the activities and locks are mechanical locks . With one padlock. Not as cool and techy as the others that I've done but the puzzle make sense and quite easy to figure out if you like connecting the dot. The lobby is part of the story for the rooms so we had to wait outside while another group for checked in. Once in the room, I was a little underwhelmed.
