Greeted warmly by Kai. It's a blink and you would miss it spot downtown Los Angeles... It's a lot bigger than it looks like and it's kind of cool. There's like a comic book store element to it as well as an escape room... I don't know why but their bathroom wasn't working so they did mention to please make sure that you have used the bathroom because there is no bathroom. I've never done an escape room so this is my first time and we picked the doctor like the mad scientist Doctor Who like created this subhuman people and we had to find like a virus to save the world and it was a lot of fun. It was challenging so you have to work together to get the clues right so it's a really good teambuilding exercise They asked if we wanted live actors we said yes so there is an element of interaction with another person which was really good. That was Bindi. Bindi played a very good scary, demented doctor patient or whatever I was really surprised at all of the different rooms that you go through and how the story kind of really makes sense and leads you to the escape it was fun. It was a challenge. I liked it. Legit scary. I would definitely do it again. Parking is dicey I would not try to park downtown LA. Not worth it. Uber there. Can't take pics inside the rooms. (Understandable), our black light didn't work. One flashlight died. That was okay. We got it fixed. If you follow the clues correctly, you will get out and be lead to another room. Then another until you get out. If you need help, then will gave you hints. (Don't be afraid to take the help)...we needed help! A few suggestions: 1) Get a locker for people to put their stuff in. 2) Make sure batteries are fresh. 3) Scary music and ranting in rooms on speaker; make lights flicker. We went to bossa nova the little Brazilian restaurant down the way and had a drink and some dinner after!

This was a great experience for my first escape room! I definitely realized I would never be able to actually survive if there was a mystery because we would not have made it without those hints. The service was amazing. We set up an appointment online and there were late policies but we came in a little late and had to wait for other but they were very understanding. There is a 15 min grace period after we came in and after that we could start without our group or wait and get some time off. We were able to start and there was more then enough time for us to solve the mystery. There was a little seating/waiting area where they also sold comic books and they had street parking. We did the zombie one and Kai was an amazing host and then suddenly also the zombie . The hints were a life saver and honestly scary because they would knock so loud but I definitely would recommend.

We did the captive chamber and it was perfect for two because it was a tight space. We definitely recommend the location because there is plenty of street parking and the staff is nice. We will be going back.

Ask the Community - Horror Escapes LA

Do you need an id in order to prove you are 18? If so, What are my options if I don't have one?

The person using a credit card has to show a valid ID. There are no other options.

Do they change the escape rooms after a while or is it exactly the same?

We are opening a new room in 2 weeks!

    Do they sell alcohol?

No they do not. Also, they do not allow alcohol and if you show up with any signs of intoxication, they will ask you to leave.

Is this experience good for a date night? Or better for a group of people?

If you want a challenge then you can do a date night but I find it's good to double date or just have a small group of 4-6 people because every extra voice/idea can throw you off when trying to escape. Hope this helps!

Is it a private game or are you grouped with random people? And is there free parking?

You have the option - through the website you can select individual tickets to be groupies with other players, or you can choose to select a Private Room at a discounted rate

Whty the promote code can't put in?

Please email our booking office to assist with booking if you are having any trouble: info@horrorescapesla.com

Where would parking be located at this place?

Parking is located behind the storefront in the back alley

If we wanted to apply the discount could we still do it even after we purchased the tickets?

We ask for 72 hours notice for any reschedules or refunds.

Do people do two or 3 rooms in one day? It is our first time at an escape room ever and I was thinking of doing the Captive then the Zombie like 6:20 and 7:40, is that possible? Do people do that?

I'm sure you can but you might be mentally exhausted! I've done chapter 1 and 2 on separate days and it was so fun!!!! Would highly recommend chapter 2

To add to this, we needed to be buzzed in so we could enter the premise. Once we were inside, the ambiance changed completely and there were a couple of IG worthy spots to take pictures while checking in. We opted for the spinning art experience since my daughter is too young to partake in the more elaborate ones. Originally, we booked for 4 people but one person got sick so we asked if we could transfer the funds for that person for another experience since there are no refunds. Luckily, was able to contact them the day before and added the bunny paint pour over experience. Ozzie was our guide and he was super kind and gentle with my daughter. We were instructed to pick 5 colors and then we donned our plastic bootie covers, apron and gloves. We entered our designated art room and was blown away by all the colors on the wall. There was even a tire swing which my daughter was all about. The spinning art experience was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my daughter embrace the paint. I think her favorite part was when she had free rein to paint all over the walls. Overall, we had a great time. Only down side is that it does go by super quick and is quite an expensive experience for one hour. However, we get to have a treasured memento which is ready for pick up about 5 days afterwards and we did have a great time. That being said, #noragrats!

When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected.
