For a place (city) that is a tourist destination, I was really disappointed in our selection for dinner at State 48 Tavern. At first, based on looking online at what they had on the menu we were sold. We were both in the mood for a steak, and to be totally honest, if it's a dive were totally fine with that as well. We were seated pretty quickly, note there are two sides, dinner side and bar side that has dinner booths. They seated us on the bar side, so the dinner side may have a totally different experience (note: both sides - excluding the physical bar - look identical - one side isn't fancier than the other). We were seated and our waitress didn't take too long to get to us, but that was a sign of things to come. Service was very slow, and they weren't that crowded. Food wasn't cooked to our request, mine was close, but my wife's was nowhere near. Really the biggest issue was the clientele. It wasn't that late and they were clearly serving to people that were intoxicated and obnoxious. They were exceptionally loud and vulgar the entire time we were there and they continued serving them .... not a pleasant atmosphere for a dining experience. If I lived here I wouldn't come here. We decided to dine at this restaurant after someone recommend it. When we first arrived the manager walked past us and spoke. He was very welcoming. Once we walked up to the hostess counter multiple people walked past us and did not acknowledge us or say anything such as someone will be right with you or hello. After standing around for several minutes, someone finally greeted us and took us to our table. My friend asked to speak to the manager and he apologized and said that this is not how he trains his employees and he would talk to them. I ordered the wings and fries. I decided to try the Asian bbq and the garlic Parmesan flavors on the wings. I liked the garlic Parmesan the best out of the two. The bbq was a little too sweet to me. The wings were served with ranch, celery and carrots. The fries and wings were good. Cute place in Page, Az. Come earlier to avoid the rush. We arrived at around 6:30 pm on a Thursday during spring break and were seated immediately. By 7 pm there was a wait for tables. Service was friendly, thorough and prompt. Our group of 4 ordered the Cuban sandwich and fries (x2), pulled pork sandwich and a half order of the cranberry walnut salad with grilled chicken. All around this is the best place in town for food and drinks. Plenty of selection of food and drink for everyone. They even offer coffees to various IPAs. Also the food selection is great! They have plenty of vegan options to delicious burgers. The service is very good too. They're on top of it filling drinks and keeping the experience great I checked out the menu before I came here and they have some awesome options are a different like the kimchi reuben sandwich with fries. Thinking this was going to be on the smaller side, it was a huge sandwich with a good portion of fries. The sandwich was delicious with that added kimchi flavor made the sandwich one of the better Reubens I've ever had. Yummy! Also the fries really are good and crispy that tasted like they were made right then and there. My friend got the pear salad and it really was on the small side. If you don't give them a 5 star review, prepare to be insulted from an owner that acts like a 4 year old. The only positives was that our server was top notch and the cook came out to ask my wife how she wanted her steak cooked. The food was actually very good. My sliders were very good. The beer selections on tap were very limited. However, If you like "bros", and guys that wear "high quality" clothing, then this is definitely the place for you. Take for example our view at the bar from where we were sitting. Very nice! Edit for the owner: My wife and the couple with us are types that were absolutely disgusted with not just the shirt, but also seeing "Thank You For Being A Slut" on the hat, "I Eat As" on the socks. We were in Page just looking for something to eat. We decided to order from State 48. I went to go get the food. So I walked it, and the place is split in half. The left half is a restaurant and the right half is a bar. In the restaurant area there was a sign that said please wait, we'll be right with you or something. I stood there for about 10 minutes, during which several waitresses saw me and did nothing. By the time I had 2 or 3 other parties behind me, they decided to come see what we all wanted. I told them I just wanted to order something to go, and they told me to go to the bar. So I wasted 10 minutes right there. Then I went to the bar. I got a menu, picked out what I wanted and waited some more to place my order. It took the bartender a while to get down to my end of the bar. All the seats at the bar were full, so I couldnt exactly go to where he was. Eventually I placed my food order, in addition to a beer to drink while I waited. So then I waited. And waited. And waited. I waited so long, time lost all meaning. I couldnt say how long I waited at that bar, but I know I finished my beer and still waited at least 10-15 minutes after that. I'd guess I was there 45 minutes - 1 hour. For a burger and one other similar item to go, that was ridiculous. Now, when I did actually get the food, yes, it was good, but I was waiting for so long I was afraid I was going to die of old age. So I'd give their food 4 stars (the beer was pretty good too), but their service only gets 1 star. I'd go here for a drink, but never again for food. read more

It is always nice to be here, they are super friendly but not without waiting... there is always waiting time and no reservation available but definetly worth it. Open late! Arriving at Page late, I was afraid if any restaurants open after 8pm. I did a quick Yelp search and most of them close at 8pm around here but this place opens until 1am and they serve dinner here. I was told that wait was about 15 minutes. The original price for a mushroom Swiss burger was $11 without a patty. I also ordered the truffle oil mushroom aioli parmesan fries. The truffle oil was very muted. The mushroom was mixed in with the aioli and there was a small sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on there. The fries were cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the pork belly mac and cheese. I had a taste and I didn't think that the pork went well with the dish. Our service was good. Our server was very attentive to our needs. We had no issues with parking. And I loved that they didn't just put the toppings on top, They evenly distributed the toppings throughout. And the steak was good!) I was very disappointed in the dinner though. I did the 10oz sirloin w mashed potatoes and a salad. My steak was charred and cooked well done. I was told you pay extra for the loaded mashed potatoes and it comes with cheese, bacon and sour cream. I unfortunately just got some dry potatoes with bacon and cheese. My dad did the surf and turf with a salad and coconut lime rice. The rice had no coconut or lime seasoning to taste and his steak was also overcooked. Was looking forward to a burger but yet again I have yet to find a restaurant in Page with a veggie patty. I ordered the brie sandwich which was tasty and the sweet potato fries were pretty good as well. I would definitely try this place again just maybe at a later date since our waiter and host weren't wearing masks. SOLID stop for dinner! First off, get the beer battered avocado. It's amazing. I loved it and I want to try to make it for myself. Triniti was our server and she was great. The fried avocado was AMAZING. Highly recommend. We each got a local AZ beer which was good. My wife and I each ordered the Smash Burger which was prepared as well as many other places that offer a 'smash' burger. It was exactly as expected, crispy/char on the edges in that delicious way that you want. The staff was quick to check on us and clear the table as we finished with each course or drink. If I could make any singular suggestion it would be to add some texture! Soft tortilla shell right out of a mission bag with super wet mushy meat just wasn't cuttin it. I threw the mango slaw in there and hot sauce to try and help but that tortilla need to be grilled or fried or add some cilantro and onion to give it some sort of crunch. We came here after hiking through the lower Cathedral Wash trail and were happy to see they had steaks on the menu. Ordered the ribeye with garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a side of soup. I was starving after 4 hours of hiking and so steak was exactly what I needed in my system. It was flavored well and cooked perfectly to my preference (medium rare). The mashed potatoes were delicious and the consistency matched my preference as well. All this paired nicely with a cold beer (I ordered the Grand Canyon Sunset amber ale). I think they forgot to bring out our soups first and when we did get them, the soup was barely warm so that was the only downside to my dining experience. Absolutely delicious little local spot in Page! We were doing an overnight stop before our trip to antelope canyon and this was recommended to us by our hotel. The food was delicious the atmosphere was very chill and local feeling. I would definitely have given them 5 stars but unfortunately they were out of almost 1/3 of the menu so that made it tough to order. We got an order of the loaded fries, the sliders and the Brie burger. All were cooked to our perfection. I really loved the fries. The combination sounds weird (sweet potatoes, ranch, black beans and avocado) but it actually all came together really great! The fries were not soggy which is a big plus!
