This is the couch that turns into bed, Mind you this is their "Newest" Platinum cabin
    Tina R.

I was highly disappointed. I was going with my husband and 4 grandkids ages 5-10. It started the Sunday prior, when I called and they told me they were closed due to covid 19, and that they sent out notices of certificates to be used at a later date. (I didnt recieve one but wish I did) When I told them is was for the upcoming week they found out I was in a cabin and of course it was open to me. $$$. I asked on the phone if they had kayaks and how much they were, they responded 25.00 a day. When I got here it was now opened to everyone. I asked about kayaks again and they told me 25 a day but I had to rent for minimun 2 days for 50. I didnt want them for 2 days nor did I know which day yet. They only had 3 and a canoe. So I didnt even bother. We had just got there. Even thought they gave us a map of the site and they circled the cabin. It had colored chairs and no number so I figured that one was rented. There was no number sign we could find for over 20 minutes. Then we just took a chance and used key it was the right one. The day after we found number under a bush and on the ground in back .The cabin is cute, and very good spot. except unlevel so no privacy since doors wont stay shut. The couch was so hard and disgusting I didnt even want anyone sitting on it. They say they sanitize it everytime ppl leave but there were dirty socks in kids room and a bag of rice in plain site in cabinet. So I'm not sure how much sanitizing is done. I understand about the covid 19. And brand new game room being closed, activities etc. But this being out "big" getaway with kids I would have rather been offered a gift certificate. This cabin was 600.00 for 3 nights. I wouldve been better off in a hotel. On the bright side all the regulars seem to be friendly and like it here. They told me if I complained the manager would do something. I believed I complained enough and I was just dismissed. They charge you 50.00 for anything broken or if they have to throw any trash or things out. Does that mean I get 50.00 back for picking up the rice and dirty socks and bringing them to the front sign in. Just look at couch

I was just here this past weekend for a music festival, and this was the perfect venue for it…read more The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of space for camping. Lots of waterfront camping space, but if you actually want to be able to sleep in on those hot summer mornings there's also lots of space in the wooded areas to camp. Everything was really clean upon arrival (as clean as it can be for being a camping area) and was kept as such throughout the weekend. Not an easy task when you have 500+ people traipsing around. There's two sets of restrooms (with running water) and the ones at the front also have 2 showers in each bathroom (mens and womens). The showers were much great, hot and good water pressure. There's also a concession area right as you arrive at the campground which carries smaller items (sunglasses, waters, etc) and are super reasonably priced. The only downfall is that you can't swim in the lake (at least not when I was there), but it's a bit murky so I'm not sure if one would want to. They do rent out paddleboats and canoes though for $50 a day with a $50 refundable deposit. There's also some pretty good fishing in the lake. One of my favorite things about this place was the fact that the owner, John, was always on hand. Interacting with patrons, making sure things were running smoothly. He really did a great job of making us feel welcomed. I'll definitely be returning next year :D

If you're thinking this is a family campground and taking your kids be ready to explain a lot of behavior. Like drinking and driving golf carts? Blasting music till quiet hour while harassing weekenders who drive 1mile over the 5mph speed limit? Then this place is for you. Fear not if you've run out of booze, there's a fully functioning bar down back. Bored? Have you ever been in a knife fight? Well that happens here to. The owner (Kim) doesn't keep track of paperwork or your deposit so I suggest you do. It's the same crafts for the kids it's been for the 5 years we were seasonal. The electric is severely outdated and the WiFi isn't strong enough to actually use it. Dogs are allowed to bark nonstop and if you complain be ready to be told "that's what dogs do". The upgrades to the campground are nonexistent but the upgrades shes made to her house that's on the same property are definitely noticeable. Just know your money isn't going into the campground it's going to her house. Just go to George Washington. It's right down the road. It's quiet, peaceful and clean. No drunks and excessively loud live music. It's a campground not a bar.

Have been here multiple times last year and this season.. by far the best value around…read more If you like privacy, clean public areas, themed weekends with great live entertainment at the rec hall you gotta check it out. Plus the wifi service covers the whole place, if your job follows you. The Owners are so accommodating..
