Hire new employees in the Deli area that actually have customer service skills and want to help customers. The people there are morons basically and have no customer service skills or food handling history. Asked for fresh wings because the wings in the warmer been sitting there for 3 hours and the old bag says "no I can't, we have to sell these first" and continues to say "their fresh, we just made them this morning" . Well no ish idiot, I don't think you'd serve leftover wings from last night, but just because you made them this morning that doesn't mean they are fresh you DAB. This is an extra big store compared to the average Stater's. The bakery always has decorated cakes in the display case and there is usually plenty of fried chicken for sale in the deli. However, the last two times we bought the chicken, it was extremely salty, down to the bone. The pieces are nicely sized, but the saltiness is not appetizing. read more

I'm honestly really disappointed with the customer service at Stater Bros. it consistently feels uncomfortable and unhelpful every time I go in. On my most recent visit, I asked a simple question about how their app works. Instead of getting a clear or friendly explanation, the employee immediately seemed annoyed. His response was, "What do you want to know?" followed by "What do you mean? I don't get what you're talking about." I was just trying to understand if the app involved some kind of game or if it was something you ask for in store. Instead of helping, he brushed it off by saying, "It explains it all there," which it really doesn't. It shouldn't be difficult to ask a basic question without feeling like you're bothering someone. Came randomly on a weekend evening. No lines for check out, plenty of parking. There's a deli, bakery, and sushi section here. Reasonable prices and they had the greens I need for my beardie, as well as pre-packaged super greens with collard, mustard, and turnip greens (they used to have this brand at Von's before they stopped carrying it). Took me over an hour to get 12 latex balloons. I'm assuming a manager (Kenny), got an untrained employee to help me out. Poor kid took 45 minutes to get me 7 balloons, I don't blame him. He let me know he had never done it before. He got swapped with someone else to finish the job. The manager who put him there walked by me several times, so he knew how long I had been there. Sadly i tried this location because it was more convenient for me one day and as i was shopping a white older lady came directly to harass me, she purposely got close to my cart and face, then looked up and down at me with hate in her soul and told me i was standing there like a f**ken idiot. I was not in this lady's way at all. I just couldn't believe it and felt so uncomfortable and terrified to run into her again in the store so I couldn't finish doing my grocery shopping I ended up walking to register to leave. Had the worst experience with the cashier Nate. Horrible customer service, very rude and bitter. First my daughter asked him where the bottled juice was and he told her aisle 5. We walked all the way over there and it was the incorrect aisle. She asked another employee and he gave her the correct aisle which was aisle 11, one aisle after the aisle he (Nate) was in pretending to "fix" stuff. There was only one register open and a long line so he opened another one and took the next person in line which we followed. I was making a separate purchase and so was my daughter. He just removed the stick and scanned my daughters first item. I told him I had a separate purchase, ignored me and continued scanning. He asked her very rudely to move her shopping cart to the bagging area. When it was my turn to make my purchase I gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked if it was a long day, I asked him again and he continued to ignore me. I told him to cancel my purchase. I believe if you're not happy or miserable where you work then quit, don't take it out on other people. Maybe they should be given a course on customer service. I'm no longer embarrassed to claim a supermarket as my own...I'm an official stater bros bro--and I'm happy with our local option here on Grand, especially when compared to smaller, more poorly lit stores like Claremont or the beleaguered building on Azusa in West Covina. First, management should be aware I'm launching a full blown investigation into their practice of providing free default wi-fi in their store, as I suspect they're sucking up and selling our consumer data. there's a ton of valuable information gleaned from our time in store, location/duration, search. That's wack and I automatically turn off my wifi when I'm in the store. The employees are solid, the US Bank convenient and parking lot plenty big. I've taken to using the order/pick up app which convenient, except when they fail to come to the car with the goods, tho you've checked in on the app. I've had to call the store number so many times that I know to advance to option #8 to speak to the store manager to reminder him/her. All in all, I won't be changing stores anytime soon and hope they strive for that 5 star rating. read more

I've ordered my cakes here many times and it's pretty good for kids birthdays etc. they only need a day before for pre ordering a cake so it fresh. The cashiers don't know the price of the bakery items. They have opaque bags for the single rolls. The sign says 39 cents but the cashier rang it up as 99 cents. Times are tough with inflation. You gotta save every penny you can. That is a 60 cents markup. I had had to go back inside to see the sign and check it to get a refund. Please get clear bags for the bakery section. read more

This store is large and the employees are courteous and friendly. The store is clean and tidy. I shopped here in anticipation of selecting a new "regular" store in the Covina area. The parking lot is very large and shared with several other businesses. The carts are well maintained and an ample amount are available for shoppers. There are many products to choose from. The wine selection and beer selection are adequate. The organic selection is lacking. If one is shopping for organic, this is not the store to choose. One must check expiration dates vigilantly here. I found expired products, even milk. I also found broken eggs, make sure to open cartons. All in all, I had a successful shopping experience. I had to settle for alternate food items when the type or brand I desired was not available. They have a "club" to save money. However, the prices here are already low. This is a good store to keep the grocery budget low, however, in my opinion, the brands available are not my preference and organic food, including packaged and fresh, is important to me and does not seem to be a priority to this store. I will come here in a "pinch" but my quest for "my Preferred store" continues! read more

I bought tangerines in a bag, and most of them were bad.i returned them and mentioned the problem to a manager. Then I bought 2 containers of watermelons, and both were bad before the expiration date. I returned them. That's 2 trips back to the store. Now, 3 avocados were bad when I cut them open. That's 3 trips back to the store. I'm not buying any more of their product. Recently, in the last 6 months, I've had some type of product that is bad from this store. This review is for the baggers, box boys, whatever they're called. Dear Store Manager, teach these people how to bag properly. I had 2 large Trader Joe's bags for my groceries. I bought 4 - 2 liter sodas, they were not bagged or even offered to be bagged. One of my reusable bags had 3 small bags of pasta and 2 bottles of punch, these could have been put in the other bag which had plenty of room and would have left my 2nd bag available for the sodas. Next time one of them asks if I need help to my car, I think I'll accept the offer then show them the right way to bag groceries. Because I did redo everything. read more

Today i was at the deli, the man before me had ordered a medium container of mac n cheese, the deli guy put Macaroni in a container, when he handed it to the man, the customer says..i ordered macncheese, the deli guy says, no you didn't, i heard you say macaroni, the customer disagrees and says i wanted macncheese, the deli guy says , next time you need to be cheese.
