Not the closest Aldi to me, but a pretty solid one. It's near the AMC theaters in Covina so there's lots of parking in the plaza for this location, unlike, say, the La Puente location. Decently sized Aldi location with lots of stock. It's a bit messy and disorganized when I went and there were only a 2 cashiers working with a huge line of customers but they did their best to be as speedy as possible. And despite that they were very friendly as well. I was able to get A LOT of the Halloween goods on sale here for a reasonable price. I was able to find the Halloween pasta, cheese, and sauces at this location and not at the other 2 that are a bit closer to me. I was able to get Dia de Los Muertos sugar cookie decorating kits and "haunted mansion" gingerbread house kits for around 60 cents which is insane. This was back when I taught middle school so it was a HUGE steal to stock up and provide it to the students. Great location! read more

This is the closest Aldi for me. I go here often for pantry staples and produce. Its not as well-stocked with non-food and specialty items as Walnut and Glendora are. But thats OK. Eggs, milk, dairy products, frozen goods are great. I don't usually buy meats here except for pork chops and ground chicken- those items are great. I also find that specialty cheeses are actually a better value at Trader Joes, believe it or not. The selection of mineral waters, dry pastas, spices- amazing. Benson's cookie dupes are great, and Clancy's tortilla and potato chips are terrific! The also have their own brand of European chocolates that are very good. Most of the cashiers are so sweet- but for one young lady who clearly hates her job. I was mightily overcharged recently- over $100!- when I pointed out that there was no way that total was correct, she proceded to argue with me. When I insisted she check the items she had rung up, she found her mistake, yet never apologized. She seemed angry at me! Her bad attitude and rudeness was astonishing. That said, I am grateful for Covina Aldi. It is so convenient and cheapest groceries overall. There are unsociable, but I guess that's the generation but today I was really bothered that the person checking My groceries was more in a hurry to push me through then he was careful with my items. He was just tossing my chips and everything in there, not even with any consideration, put my eggs at the bottom of cart and he was about ready to put something on top of them really disappointed with this Aldi store. First time visitor and definitely will not be my last for certain items. This store is conveniently located just off of a major street (Azusa), directly across the street from a Walmart. Food choices were plentiful as everything from meats, veggies, fruits, dairy products etc.. are offered here at surprisingly affordable prices. The store appeared to be fully stocked, clean and very well organized. The only contact I had was with a cashier when I paid for all my merchandise. I don't recall ever visiting a Aldi store so I was surprised to also see tools, toys, gazebos, clothing and so much more as I was under the impression this was solely a grocery store. This is my go-to ALDI location! Have been coming here for years since I moved here. I always buy the eggs, Coconut Milk, non-fat milk, bread, bagels, select seasonings, veggies and fruit, and other essential food stuffs here. Their prices are reasonable and I like to stock up on several of their items in my pantry. I also try some of their seasonal stuff and specials whenever it strikes my fancy (and I can actually afford to do so). Even if money is a little tight, I am still able to buy enough and not worry too much. I am enjoying cooking more now at home and eating more of a healthy variety...thanks to ALDI! read more

I'm writing to express my deep disappointment with how my mother, a senior citizen, was treated by an employee named Destiny at your store today around 2pm On her recent visit, my mom purchased around $100 worth of groceries but realized her debit card only had $50. She politely told the cashier, Destiny, to only ring up certain items she had selected to make dinner. Instead of listening, Destiny rang up the wrong items. When my mom calmly explained that those weren't the items she needed, Destiny began arguing with her, insisting that my mom "never said that." This exchange not only confused and upset my mother, but it also humiliated her. A kind woman behind her in line noticed what was happening and offered to pay for the items my mom had actually chosen. My mom was so overwhelmed she cried -- and no one should be made to feel that way, especially not in a place they shop at regularly. This isn't the first time my mom has been treated rudely at this location. She shops here because it's close to home and she doesn't drive far. That should never mean she has to tolerate disrespect from staff, especially when she's simply trying to buy groceries with dignity. I hope ALDI takes this seriously. Employees like Destiny should be trained to treat all customers with patience, kindness, and professionalism -- especially elderly ones who may already be dealing with enough stress. Aldi remains my supermarket of choice, due to convenience, distance, and prices. Target is a second close call. But I always hit up Aldi first. This particular Covina/Azusa location has a great parking lot. No matter how busy the day or time is, you can still park relatively close by. Can't say the same for the Alhambra location. That lot is a mess. Oy. Though most things are pretty darn affordable, the prices of eggs are still affected at this otherwise economical grocery shopping one shop stop. As of late, it's a whopping $5 or so a dozen. Still beats the $8 to $10 a dozen price tag at other supermarkets, though. Things that I continue to hunt for when I visit, besides what I already have written down on my list, are: Candles, wax melts, Weekly Aldi Finds, new treasures in the frozen section, whether it be sweet treats or savory meals. The most coveted item to get in late January are the pie bites! Chocolate covered key lime pie, banana cream pie, and coconut cream pie in bite sized pieces? Yes, please! Staff continues to be efficient AF! CAPTITAL AF! There is no other establishment that the register can check customers out as promptly as Aldi does. Given, this is baked into their merchandise design, with their enlarged and many bar codes on a given package box and all. But the people working at the place just understand what their assignment is. They. Just. Do. Scan scan scan. The machine goes doo doo doo. And I'm on my way. Thanks, Aldi team! The fruit and vegetables are always fresh and crisp as fruits and vegetables should be. Lots of variety for the kids to pick up snacks. Aldi finds are awesome, be sure to check them out coz "they're here today, gone tomorrow." I've had their Norwegian Salmon once but have not seen them again. Norway has the best fish farming practices. A few of my favorites here are the Thai Coconut Curry chicken, Italian sparkling water, select vanilla and chocolate ice cream. 3.5-4 stars I've only been to this Aldi location twice. The first time, we did not have a great impression as there were many homeless people in the parking lot. The second time, I did not see any homeless people in the parking lot. I guess it depends on what time of the day one visits. The aisles in this Aldi location are a bit odd, so it took me awhile to find a few items here as compared to the Walnut location that I tend to frequent. As with all Aldi locations, they provide cart wipes and antibacterial hand sanitizer but the automatic machine was out of the sanitizer when I visited most recently. Even though it was only a few days past the circular start date, they were already out of the apple cider donuts and the apple cider. Popular items! I ended up being able to find them at the Walnut location a few days later, thank goodness. Pretty decent, fresh produce and fruit section, and was able to find all that I needed. Prices are always very reasonable. In the frozen food section, I even found Bavarian pretzels (imported from Germany), due to Oktoberfest, delish! Disappointed that they didn't have any German mustard to pair with the pretzels though. (World Market ftw for German mustard.) I also really love their sliced cheeses, as they have Havarti and I also tend to grab Provolone and Pepper Jack at times. As with any Aldi location, the lines to checkout are always all over the place. One visit, the lines can be lining up near the side; on another visit, they could be just behind the one cashier checking out. They certainly like to keep us on our toes... Just make sure to keep an eye out on where the "collective" line is so that you're not cutting in line. I just wish that they had 1-clear line because newbies might be "cutting" in line without knowing it. If you don't know the back story of Aldi, and have the time, it's certainly an interesting one to read up on! And as always, make sure to bring your quarter! In the past, I would just bring a reusable bag, but I tended to always buy more than I had intended to, so a cart is super handy. read more

The staff here is so wonderful. I can't believe how friendly their costumers are. I haven't gone here and I had a bad experience. I was never much of an ALDI shopper before, but this location converted me. The prices are wonderful. It has a very European vibe. Other countries don't have a vast selection at their grocery stores . The U.S.'s huge grocery selections are contributing to obesity and heart disease. Also, there has been psychological research that shows more choices inspires greater unhappiness in terms of consumer purchases. My son got hurt today at the check out line 2. His hand was squished between the cart and a wall. It was really minor but it upset my son. The man who check us out was genuinely concerned for my son's well-being. I'm super appreciative of his gestures of concern. It's refreshing. read more

I'm not certain why the reviews for Aldi are poor. After my first visit, my wife and I were somewhat impressed by the market. It's no whole foods market, but it's really clean, they have great prices, and depending on what you're looking for, some great products like their frozen pizzas. Things to note though, much like Trader Joe's they strongly encourage bringing your own bags, they carry a lot of off brand kind of things rather than well known brands, and they package some meats and food just like Fresh & Easy use to(plus or minus depending on if you liked that or not). Overall the staff was friendly and helpful and we didn't feel like the managers were ignoring people like one person commented. I'd say, give Aldi a chance, after all they're owned by the same German company that owns Trader Joe's. read more

The store was clean and organized. There wasn't much of a food selection, but the prices were really cheap. The bagging section area was a bit strange. They should have used the same checkout counters used in Europe, where the groceries didn't have to be moved to a different area to be bagged. The end of the counter would be sectioned off into 2 lanes and the person at the register would scan your things and place it in one lane, where you can bag your things. Then the next customer's groceries would go to the other lane. That's so much simpler. read more

It's a cluster of produce, pantry items, some frozen items, luggage ?, dairy items, and gardening supplies. Less than impressed with their selection. Produce section was pretty mediocre, not much produce to choose from. The prices were okay, cheaper than you'd find in Albertsons or Vons, but not as cheap as some of the other local grocery stores. You can get similar items at other discount stores at a cheaper price. Bring your own bags, if you want to be able to carry out your food in a bag. If you want to use a cart it's 25 cents, but you get it back when you return the cart. read more

What an Awesome New way to shop. Aldi had a soft opening this past Tuesday May 17th & will have its grand opening this Thursday May 18th, make sure to stop by for a free Aldi bag and enter the drawing to win free groceries for a year :) Aldi has the best concept going on when it comes to the shopping carts, I wish all stores would do this. To use a shopping cart you have to put a quarter into the coin slot and when you are done you return the cart and get your coin back, you definitely can take the cart with you to your car and back but it must be returned to get the coin which mean less carts in the parking lot :) Aldi has only about 2% name brand items in the store the rest is all Aldi brands, they grantee there products 100% that means if you buy something and are not happy with it bring it back and they will give you a full refund and also give you another product to try. They say there products taste or are very close to tasting like other name brand items. Make sure to bring your own bags if not you may purchase them there, plastic are $0.15 or paper for $0.10. Once you are rang up you may take your purchase to the front of the store and bag your items. Stores are opening up everywhere local, make sure you check them out. We went to the open house today and sampled some of Aldi's private label products. I tried cheese, crackers, juice, granola bar, and chocolate. All of them were good eating!! Aldi's claim is lower prices, they have most of the items they sell coming from their own brands, which they offer at lower prices. Great idea! Walking around this clean, bright store, the prices did look lower. My wife said the prices are good, but how do the they taste?? Time will tell. We will definitely give this grocery store a try! It is located across the street from Walmart where Michael's used to be. A couple of tips: you have to bag your own groceries, bring your reusable bags or they'll charge you per bag, bring a quarter to use a basket - you'll get it back when you return the basket to the front of the store. read more
