I've been a regular customer of this location for 15 years and recently have had several bad experiences with the deli this past week that I have to address. I came in Monday May 5th at approximately 5pm. I was immediately helped but it took the clerk 25 minutes to slice 2 lbs of lunch meant and a lb of cheese. I had to guide her to where the stuff was located and explain what it looked like. I understand new hire learning curves but this was beyond incompetent. At one point I told her I'd be back for my stuff and when I came back from getting several dairy items she was still slicing my stuff. She handed me an unopened bag and a male clerk ended up slicing the cheese to help get my stuff. I visited again on Friday May 9th and thankfully after standing around for several minutes Josh came to assist me. The same woman who took 25 minutes on monday was standing in front of the hot food display on the customer side staring at the sign with 3 customers waiting for service. Josh came out from the back and asked her what she was doing and she said "studying". This behavior was bizarre but the issue I have is after a long day of work customers should not have to stand around because the store has an incompetent employee working the deli. I moved on and as I was checking out Josh came over to the manger who was checking me out at the register to let her know that the woman I mentioned was refusing to take her break separate from someone else and he needed a manager to handle the situation. Again, as a customer I don't think it's fair to have to deal with this type of service. I visit the deli twice a week for deli meat. I'm considering going somewhere else because I cannot continue to waste my time after work standing around or the fear of this woman helping me and taking upward of 35 minutes to slice meat. Visited on 5/16 thankfully Josh came to assist me. Lo and behold the same woman was working and again walking as slow as she could avoiding customers. Management needs to rethink the type of people they have in fast moving positions. I would recommend moving this person to a position that isn't client facing or has any sense of urgency like sweeping or greeting customers but definitely not at a deli counter! Furthermore why would anyone managing a business schedule this person the busiest days/hours of the week? read more

I have visited Stater Brothers all over the states, but my experience in the Perris Stater Brothers meat department was anything but pleasant. A woman named Zitloly or something was very rude and curt while taking my meat. Luckily the situation was sorted out, but I have had much better experiences. read more

The quality of this store is going down hill. I stopped by today to pick up dinner. I looked at the meat section, and they have meatballs that are already bad. And the chicken area up front has flies around them and it's not even the temperature it's supposed to be at. They pick and choose which customers they'll be friendly to. I purchased the cake for My Husband's birthday. I told them specifically what to write on it when I got here to pick it up it wasn't written on as if they thought I wasn't gonna come back and pay for it and then after talking to me for several minutes, she goes to write on the cake and comes back and hands me the UPC And says you need to pay for it before I can give it to you. However, the customer before me was given their item and told they can pay at one of the registers . Discriminating and stereotyping if you ask me. They just lost my business though. read more

Poor management. 15 item or less line was the only lane open and had ten people in it, most of whom had full carts. It took the clerk 15 minutes to finally call for another checker who had an attitude. Then that lane backed up and it was another ten minutes before a third checker came. I spent almost a half hour waiting to checkout with four items. This is the closet Staters to me, but I go out of my way to go to the Sun City or Menifee stores. The staff here are always pleasant and while I hate the produce because it often looks rotten, MOST of the employees make it a great shopping experience. I was there yesterday, May 2, 2018. I went to the deli to get a fresh sub sandwich made. The lady making it (deli manager) made my sub sandwich fresh but didn't bother to ask me what I wanted...If I wanted someone else's creation, I would have picked one up from their refrigerated section. She hands me the sub and I ask for the manager. Bobby came out, spoke with me in a professional manner and apologized. He offered to make a new sub for me, however, I couldn't wait because I had to pick my kids up. I let Bobby know that all I wanted was for him to know and correct the issue for future customers. I got in line with my deli and other items and all of a sudden, Bobby appears. He gave me 50%off of my sub sandwich. I politely let him know that I wasn't after a discount and I wanted better customer service. He insisted and I took him up on his offer. In this day and age, there aren't many managers like this. Don't understand why the meat department has changed so much. Went from having good quality meats to crappy cuts. Went to get some flat meat and they only had marinated flat meat. I asked if they had any none marinated and they told me they would have to cut it and I would have to wait until they where done cutting steaks. I went to stater bros today and went to the meat department at 7 p.m. and the the meat clerk told me that they were closed. I asked sense when do you close at 7? He said they always do. I then went and got the manager on duty he told me that the clerk was wrong, but when the store manager went back to the meat department he said he'll have them cut one time, but only as a courtesy and it won't be done again. Not only was the meat clerk rude , but Jose the manager on duty was very rude. I worked for the meat department at staters for over 10 years and do not understand what is happening. Normally I prefer Stater Bros over other grocery stores... but I don't know after today. I went in earlier and purchased 2 lbs of shrimp. I got home and placed them in the fridge. A couple hours later I took them out to start peeling but I got a bad smell from them, they were slimy and even a bit sticky. I asked 2 other family members and they agreed. I went back to return them and I got asked if I wanted to exchange them or return them... Of course I wanted to return them. I was just shocked that being that its shrimp there was no immediate movement to call the meat dept to ensure it wasn't bad. As I'm sure other people have bought some. Today is my last day as a courtesy clerk at Perris Stater Brothers. I will be going to Sun City Stater Brothers at my own request. It has been a great pleasure working with my soon to be former coworkers. Erika (key carrier) is very kind, Mike Malon key carrier has a great sense of humor and easy to work with. Sarah key carrier is a hard worker and you gotta love her laugh! Deborah certified meat cutter is honest and lends a listening ear.Denae (clerk) is so nice! I will miss her a lot.Joshua B. Lately my husband and i have mostly stopped doing our shopping here because this particular location is constantly out of the normal things we buy. There's entire shelf areas that are bare, whereas I'm not seeing this issue with any other Starters or other grocery stores I've gone to. I get sick and tired of having to go hunt down those few items i need at other stores. It's super inconvenient. I am a regular customer for 25 years, I went to church came to the store to buy dog food . I fell down a large pothole in the same parking stall I was in. They fixed the parking lot recently because of me. I knew I hurt myself because I couldn't walk when I went to tell someone they acted so rudely to me by giving me the brush off you would think I had the plaque. I hope no one ever goes through what I did. Because I had a really bad sprained ankle and twisted knee and my muscles in my lower back were inflamed. I went to the hospital because urgent care thought I broke my ankle. I am still paying my bills and haven't received replies to my emails or phone call. Noone wants to give me an address not through the email so I can sent you the bills and be reimbursed because this is really been a burden on me. Especially during the holidays. The manager I reported the incident to knew exactly where the pothole was which I found disturbing. Don't they do safety inspections daily of hazardeous conditions? You would think so if they have security guards there. Get a better process. I should be able to shop safely without being hurt on the property. read more

She called over the manager and her too was very rude!! She told me I can refuse to sell you the alcohol I don't have to sell it to you! This market is always clean and well kept! The employees are always nice and eager to provide help to anyone who needs it! Sam, the manager, is always helpful and goes out of his way to assist both employees and customers! Christopher, Gemma, Shiela, and mostly all the employees are really great people! The meat department is superior! Great job! I love the excellent quality of meat and I especially like that they will cut and season it to my liking! I can't end this without a special shout out to the produce department! Their fruits and vegetables are always fresh and delicious! Oh, did I mention the bakery? Well I have bought virtually every single birthday cake for my entire family here at the Perris Stater Bros for every single birthday in the past nine years! Well, I am so disappointed. With the lifting of the mask mandates by President Biden and the CDC, I felt comfortable going into Stater Bros without a mask. Now, I got vaccinated and took a picture on my cell phone so in case anyone ask me I have the proof. I am really upset with a cashier, not the staff in the produce dept, meat dept, they were wonderful. They gave me all the help I needed and the meal I cooked was great because of their help. This cashier on the other hand was an ass, she was so disrespectful. Just plain rude, I have NEVER been treated so badly by anyone at Stater Bros before in my life. I thought she was going to start yelling at me for not wearing a mask. I explain to her what the CDC and Biden said, I was never given a chance to prove that I was vaccinated, she was simply argumentative, and I was completely wrong I am not welcome back unless I wear a mask. I was trying to tell her that when I walked through the door the greeter never said a thing about a mask, she told me "Welcome to Stater Bros" If you are not willing to treat me with respect then never expect me back into your store. There are plenty of other stores that will treat me with respect, I have had cashiers from other stores who have thanked me for getting vaccinated and welcome me without a mask. I will not have an employee raise her voice, treat me like garbage, completely disrespectful, I did not earn that from her. I did the right thing and got vaccinated. Horrible customer service. I went in to purchase Similac Non-GMO Sensitive baby formula. I accidentally purchased Similac Non-GMO baby formula (not the sensitive version). I walked out the store, realized my error, and was literally back in the store within a couple minutes. The store manager, Christian Z, would not allow an exchange. He first stated that it was state law. I asked him to put it in writing, and he backtracked, stating it was store policy, even though there was no such policy stated. I e-mailed corporate in the following days. I asked them about their policy. They stated "In regards to the formula, we guarantee all of our products. So in the event of a product being defective or out of code...even without a receipt, the formula can be exchanged for a "like item". So we will exchange for the same product." I then told them the situation, to which they changed their answer to "This would be a manager's decision. Please contact or visit the store to relay your experience to the Store Manager for further assistance with your product inquiry." I asked for a District Manager to call me. They told me one would contact me, and I have not received any response. I followed up one more time, and still have not received a response. I'd give zero stars if Yelp allowed it. read more
