Station 400 is one of my favorite brunch spots around town! The Specialty Mimosas - which are hands down the best mimosas around - come in a bunch of different flavors, so you don't have to get the typical combination of orange juice and champagne. Some of the flavors include Blood Orange/Hibiscus, Pomegranate, Elderflower/Cucumber/Lemon, and Blackberry Bramble. They also typically have a seasonal flavor too, so make sure you ask about that! In terms of food, you really can't go wrong here. That being said, I recommend the Banana & Brown Sugar Pancakes if you have a sweet tooth, and the Huevos Gringos if you're into Mexican-style breakfast! Brunch is probably my favorite meal ever. This was my 3rd time here and it has been just as good or possibly better every time. Benedict is my absolute favorite breakfast meal. I had the fried green tomato Benedict with Pesto Hollandaise! OMG, every bite had so much flavor..and the egg was cooked to perfection. I visit Station 400 on Lemon every time I visit sarasota, and it has never let me down! I've only been for breakfast, haven't tried their lunch menu. I love the history behind the place, an old train station that was moved to sarasota and turned into a restaurant. The inside is nice, but the outside patio is gorgeous. Surrounded by brick buildings and nature, it creates the perfect atmosphere for a quiet breakfast or brunch. The wait staff is always super friendly, and so on top of refilling our coffee! My favorite is the ricotta lemon curd pancakes...a must try! We usually get them for the table to share and if I get them for myself I can never finish them...they're so fluffy, rich, sweet and LARGE! I've tried different dishes but I always go back to the pancakes (with a side of bacon). Dad got the fall special...coffee crusted pork chops over sweet potato hash. It was decent, but not the best pork chops ever. The sides are always great, and the portions are big enough to hold me over until late afternoon! Incredible breakfast and lunch with an adorable patio. The menu has a wonderful selection of various items which are all available all day. My boyfriend and I went to this resturant yesterday (1-13-19) and were extremely disappointed. We arrived around 10:45/10:50 and were immediately seated as some tables had just been cleared. We ordered food about ten minutes later (so 11am). I ordered the truffle Benedict, my boyfriend ordered the pressed French dip roast beef sandwich. At 11:30 I noticed we hadn't gotten our food yet, as more and more tables were cleared around us and replaced with more patrons and two other tables next to us, that had ordered prior to us, began to complain. Our waitress came over at 11:40 to refill our drinks and tell us that there were "four tickets ahead of ours, sorry about the wait, it's a Sunday." Finally, at 11:55am, 55 minutes after placing our orders, our food came out. I wish I could say that it was worth the 55 minute wait, but it was not. Our food was luke warm and bland. The "truffle" Benedict had no sign of truffle anything (the hollaindaise sauce tasted plain to me), except for the five tiny mushrooms that came on the plate. The English muffin was old and stale. My boyfriend's "pressed" sandwhich had a skimpy amount of meat on it and was lightly toasted at best, definitely not pressed. I told him, "Well at least the fruit (I got as a side) was good" to which he responded, "Yeah, they didn't make it, of course it would be!" When we got up to leave, I wiped up something I spilled, and the napkin came up blue/green. Go ahead, if you are eating there, take your napkin along the inner edges of the table...they don't even do a good job wiping down the surfaces you can see. Makes me question the sanitation they use in other areas (like the kitchen) that customers can't see. We came because it seemed like it would be a cool venue (historic train depot) and it had good reviews (God knows why) but honestly there was nothing special about it. The atmosphere was like any other south Florida cafe but this one had some train decor in it. The food was meh, the service was kind of crappy, and the wait for our food was horrendous. Great local spot that's feels like family. Tons of natural light that opens up the small dinning area. Cooper top tables are cool. Food tasted wonderful, seasoned well. I had the steak and eggs, amazing and my friend had the breakfast fry-definitely the best value on the menu. We wanted to share French toast but no half orders were available so we got the starter French toast bites for $6.50. It was one piece cut up, way overpriced, so go with the full order for 9.50 next time. Biggest drawback was bad coffee. I couldn't drink it, but still paid for it. Oh well, what lacked in value & good coffee was made up for by wonder service and atmosphere. Must go here, just bring your own coffee. read more

First lunch visit was very successful. Easy to find something pleasing on this menu; although, I quickly took server's, Ashley's, suggestion of Huevos Gringos. Mom had Station Omelet which looked perfectly cooked. Service was appropriate for the causal setting; and although we did not visit until 1:30, the dining room was loud. Surprising for being half full. Next time when it's below 92 degrees, I look forward to relaxing on the large patio on the east side of the building. I had to wait at least 5 minutes for a hostess to even greet me and the when we were seated it was in a booth even though I stated my son was in a wheelchair. There were about 3 bites taken out of the pancakes and my mom left hungry. The blt was mostly salad greens on warm bread with to much dressing. Couldn't taste bacon or fried green tomatoes and that was the best dish we had. The eggs Benedict had a shaving of Canadian bacon that was overcooked and one of the eggs was hard bolied. When we complained they brought us a poached egg in a bowl. Not a full Benedict replacement or even an egg with sauce. They never refilled our drinks and then gave us someone else's credit card and slip. I do not recommend. This should not be a top pick for anyone. read more

Lovely server helped me zero in on fried green tomato eggs benedict with a few mods: substitute organic eggs (nice menu upgrade option!), no english muffin (the fried green tomatoes - FGT - were enough "bed" so I eliminated unnecessary calories/gluten of the english muffin so I could better taste the FGT), no meat (I prefer vegetarian). I had the cheesy grits this time - a tourist move because I don't really see them on menus in the Southwest where I live - and they were perfect texture/taste/portion, but I would get fruit in the future to balance out the plate. Visited the restaurant today for the first and we were disappointed that we couldn't use the Handicap ramp and pathway because management allowed 8 bicycles to be parked in the pathway by the ramp I say allowed because they were Sarasota County Sheriff's Deputies... Yes, the same ones who will write you a $250 ticket for illegal parking in a Handicap spot and when I told the hostess/server she didn't seem concerned and did nothing to fix the problem. So I guess it's ok with management and it's a shame that they allow it just because they eat there. I wish I was able to post the pictures here of them eating and the bikes blocking the pathway. read more

My goodness so yummy. I don't live in Sarasota, but if I did I might be here every single weekend. First of all, they have gluten free pancakes. And they're freaking great. They have so many different flavors and options it's so refreshing. And they have gluten free bread, which is amazingly paired with their house made jam. I'm a little sad I didn't ask if they sell jam so I could take some home with me. I'm not usually a fan of corn beef hash made from scratch but I think they had the best I've ever had. We were served water & coffee soon after we sat down, & when the waitress came to take our order, I asked for a lemon for my water & more coffee, which she never brought. My husband got up to find our waitress to AGAIN request more coffee & my lemon! We placed our order, then waited 40 minutes to get our order of French toast & bowl of oatmeal, both not involved or complicated meals! The French toast & bacon were, at best, luke warm, so they were returned to be reheated! In the meantime, my husband used the restroom, which he found to be dirty & in need of a good cleaning & paint job! After our experience here, we would never return. We waited over 15 min to be asked what we will be having to drink and it took another 15 min after our order was placed to receive just our appetizer. Another 20 for our food and they did not seem busy. Strawberry lavender jelly/ coffee/ cheese grits/ omelettes of any kind/ and water highly do not recommend at all worst water I ever tasted definitely tap and unfiltered had to be. The food for the most part was good. The exception in this was: The crab cake fritters we not hot, warm yes but not hot. It came with 4 and for two people that is ok but not for a bigger group. I got the Bibb lettuce salad with seared tofu. The salad was fantastic, beats were so good. It could have had more goat cheese on it. The seared tofu was just plane nasty. I personally love tofu but this was so soft and bland, absolutely no flavoring, it was like worm bland gelatin. I also got a cup of the corn clam chowder and it was perfect. My husband got the grilled panini French dip and parmesan fries. The panini he said was a little stale on the corners but over all had a good flavor. He said both the eyes you sauce and Parmesan french fries "lack luster" As far as the service it was just so so. We had to ask for a refill on our water. Our food came after a party that was seated after us and after they revive their food. The atmosphere was plane but was to be expected for an old station house. I did enjoy the old photos of trains and the train set the goes around the sealing over the kitchen. The awful part was the noise level inside. It was so loud I could not have a conversation with my husband. We will return to tryout this place again but for breakfast as the breakfast menu looked good, and will be sitting outside. We are year round residents so unfortunately we will not come back until after the summer due to the heat and needing to sit outside. read more

The fruit bowl was mostly cantaloupe, with some grapes and a slice of strawberry on top. More variety would have been nice. The avocado on my omelette was very thin, and not worth the $2. It wasn't horrible enough to complain, but the waiter should have noticed that the plate was lacking before bringing it out. Other than that, the service and environment were great. read more
