I do not like to give negative feedback, but it is hard not to give this salon and it's owner a non-perfect rating. I will be as honest and transparent as possible along with pictures and details. On Saturday, December 31st, 2018 at 9:40am, my girlfriend had an appointment to get her hair bleached. She has been doing this for years and its nothing new. She also follows all the proper procedures to take care of her hair so that it won't get damaged and won't have any future problems. We have tons of pictures together and her hair is always perfect, right up until she visited this salon. I was waiting at the coffee shop next door, when at 1:50pm (so 4 hours 10 minutes from her appointment), she comes in with a fist of her hair and tears in her eyes. Her hair was falling out but she didn't know what to do. She wanted to complain but too scared of the workers and she also didn't want to create a scene in the salon where there were also other clients getting worked on. I've never seen anything like this before, she wanted to give this salon a try as her friend also got her hair dyed ($60) and said the price was fair and they did a great job. My girlfriend on the other hand, was getting bleach work done but they charged her $350. She didn't think it would cost that much so she went with $250 and said she'd come back to pay the rest but that's still outrageous! They obviously did something wrong, either used way too harsh of a product or leave the bleach in for over the amount of time instructed by product details. At this point, we went to grab late lunch (2:43PM) and her hair was still falling out and now her scalp was starting to burn. She asked me to take a look at her scalp and it was red. I took her back home so she can take a closer look and also change into something else since we already had plans for the night. She came back out with the sweater she was wearing and somehow the salon got bleach all over the back of the neck of the sweater! She was wearing 2 gowns around her neck during the procedure! How did they even manage that? It's getting late, we discussed the different options and decided to go the civil route and go back to see if we can come up with a solution for this mess, as it may not be worth filing a claim at court until after we see a dermatologist. So we went back with her mother to come up with a peaceful resolution (6:50PM). Instead, the owner just ripped into both her and her mother saying that there are "absolutely no refunds" and that we should all understand the risk there is to constantly dying her hair. She rejected the idea of a refund and instead to come back tomorrow and they'll provide a treatment service. Somehow, we were able to get a sample packet of the bleach product they used on her hair and scalp so we can take it to a doctor. So, night and holiday plans ruined, go home feeling at a loss and her having to try and get some rest while her hair is still constantly falling out. Next morning, Sunday December 30, 2018, she wakes up to her pillow with more of her hair having fallen off. She goes back with her bleached sweater and a clump of her hair to the salon. The owner and worker just brushes it off and thinks nothing of it as they think they are already providing her enough of a service to accommodate for the problem that they created. I really don't know what the treatment did as her hair is still falling out to this day, December 31st, 2018, but considering it's during a holiday period we have yet to book a dermatologist or doctor to take a look at her scalp yet, I also think everyone will agree that hair loss is a very serious and no laughing matter. I will try and update this review as we see fit. read more

For people like me who really take time to look for that hair salon that will truly satisfy you, I must say I found my "The One" - that is of course, Station Hair Artist. Booking an appointment was easy for me as I did a same day appointment and was able to get a slot right away. When I entered the salon, I was greeted by this jolly lady who really made me feel comfortable by taking care of my belongings and putting them in a safe place. She was also the one who washed my hair and it was relaxing. Angie, the hairstylist, listened to what kind of haircut I wanted. She's very detailed. She made sure she met whatever specifications I asked. What I liked about my experience was the friendly atmosphere and Angie's professionalism and passion. By the end of my session, she showed me how she did the haircut (she provided a mirror that I can hold and showed me front, side, and back angle of my hair). Hangji did an amazing job on my hair today. Made an appointment for Saturday morning at 10am, got a haircut and a perm, and was able to walk out the salon before 1pm! She was so efficient, fast, and professional. The price was reasonable. She has a good sense of styling! I had a few pictures of different haircuts when I walked in. She was able to suggest what would look the best on me and did a phenomenal job carrying out the style. As of today, I've found a salon I would frequent for my hair :) read more

I love this place! Amazing service, styling and cutting/dying/perming skills. I had magic straight and I had an amazing experience with Hangji Jo. Ladies are super lovely and give on-point advice, I completely trust them in terms of length and beauty styling. I came later in the weekday for magic straight and they accommodated my last minute request and was thorough. Lots of places in flushing will give you the short-cut 2.5 hr version but they took the full 4 hr version to make sure my hair looked amazing, even closing the store later than their usual closing time. Very kind and warm staff who genuinely want you to look great. I've been coming to flushing area to do my hair since I was a kid and this is by far my favorite place. Recommend to all my friends and family, and I'm definitely coming again for all my hair appointments. Another plus is that it's right off the Murray hill train station and by lots of yummy food places. read more

ABSOLUTELY OVERPRICED!! TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS FOR A CUT AND COLOR TREATMENT! Anywhere else is only $90! I got a cut (long hair) which they charged $50 (actually WAY beyond Manhattan pricing) and $180 for a coating treatment that only costs $60 elsewhere for a total of $230. Only go if you have time for them to eat a full meal when they should've been rinsing out the treatment after the recommended 20 minutes that the stylist specifically said when I asked AND while they talk shit about other regular customers in front of me assuming I wasn't fluent in Korean which I was AND ONLY and if you have money to burn. I was there for over 3 hours for something that usually only takes an hour and half! I'm appalled and hope others coming to this area won't think that this salon is representative of the area because it isn't! There are way more established salons that won't charge these prices and give you better bang for your buck. read more

Now, I've been to many hair salons that sell you unnecessary services that wouldn't really benefit the customers ...Ms. Hangji (the owner) was up to date with the hair trends and knew what was good for my hair. Most people do not know how to maintain their BLEACHED hair and like to blame it on their hair designers - Allow me to explain: WHEN YOUR HAIR IS BLEACHED YOU MUST BE RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO EDUCATE YOURSELF ON HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BLEACHED HAIR. Ms. Hangji was generous enough to advise the best technique in terms of keeping my hair tamed whilst bringing out the vibrant color. She also cut my hair to allow it to fall in just the right places. If you find a good designer that has the best intentions like her, it's best to stay with that one person. Trust me, I've been burned many times. Been looking for a good Mens haircut spots. Tried so many different hair salon in Flushing and Manhattan. For me Quality meaning the details were very important and the price as well. Pretty sure many guys out there dont want to pay over 30bucks for haircuts. I m always busy with my work so I couldnt make reservation and they werent suppose to be in business today but I got lucky and seated right away for haircut. Soon as she set me she asked if i wanted twoblock cut because i think she knew i had a twoblock cut from my previous stylist. But recently i been changing my style so i explained to her how i been styling lately, she understood right away and started cutting my hair. I basically asked for basic trim but she designed/styled the cut to exactly what I wanted. I have been to many cheap or expensive salons but problems with cheap salons were they lack details. This salon definitely has good detailed cut and price was pretty fair for me. I would definitely recommend if u are looking for a good mens cut.
