I gave her a heads up that I have terrible jaw pain (I have TMJ) and she held my mouth wide open poking around with no breaks for what felt like an eternity, and when I tried to ease up a bit just to get a little relief, she snapped on me to keep it open wide. Then when I came back for a filling, I experienced the most jaw-dropping encounter (no pun intended). She chiseled my tooth to where it was totally hollow, so she could do the filling. She stops, then shoves a mirror in my face and says "LOOK, SEE, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU EAT TOO MUCH SUGAR" as she shows me my completely OPEN tooth, complete with roots and gum exposed. Absolutely disgusting and inappropriate. I was on the keto diet at the time, and don't eat a lot of sugar actually. Now for the icing on the cake. I made an appointment for my husband which was for today at 9:00am (after they had to reschedule twice, but whatever). At 8:35 this morning, the office calls and says the doctor doesn't think she's going to come in this morning because her first appointment isn't until noon (um?), so he will need to go to the Aurora office instead at 3:00 today. By the way, when I made this appointment originally, I asked for the soonest available because it's a chipped tooth... pretty urgent, not just a cleaning. I guess she just wanted a nice morning at home, and we know by now she has no regard for other human beings. Needless to say, we're changing dentists. Just to reiterate, all issues we have had have been with Dr. Kothapalli as an individual. I know there is another Dr. practicing in this office, so go for him instead.

The office is clean and the staff is friendly. I really like that they email me and remind me of my upcoming appointments (make sure that you confirm or they will cancel your appointment).

I have some pretty bad dental terror (the local shots don't work well on me so I had put it off too long. It's hard to find a dental office that has Saturday hours, accepts your insurance and offers sedation. Gentle Dental checked all the boxes so I gave them a try. The positives: The dentist was patient, gentle and friendly. The hygienists that I dealt with were awesome. The sedation process was mostly seamless. I feel so much better now. I am going back for a bridge in a few months. . The negatives: I was referred to their oral surgeon for some of my work. I got that bad vibe from him. I just don't think he "gets" dental terror. He also told me he could do all of my work under sedation in one sitting but the treatment plan I took home ignored the low profit procedures I needed. If I didn't read it, I would have been furious after. I asked the general dentist if she'd do it all under sedation. I took my chances and I'm glad I did. I also find the front desk staff to be hit or miss. Every question I ask gets a response "I'll have to ask my manager and call you back." Then I have to call again to get that answer and I sometimes feel they are mo more confident with the answer. Overall, though, I'm happy.

She brushes, flosses, and uses a water pick every day. She came home from this recent appointment and was told she had nine cavities!?!?! I will be filing a formal complaint with the department of dentistry. This place could have wrecked her teeth.
