Fully understand the challenges of running a restaurant post-COVID, but simply not a great experience. Works as a bar with bar food, but service was slow (even though there appeared to be more than enough staff) and the floor manager was...weak at best. Good took 30+ min, which I get post COVID, but the server was more interested in what was happening on the patio than at her tables. At one point a runner brought our food. As I reached for my plate I spilled 1/2 my beer. It was as if nothing happened. No attempt to help us clean...just kept putting food on beer covered table. Server came over and saw sopping wet napkins. I asked for more napkins (needlessly linen) and she brought me a used side towel? Evening mercifully ended when server dropped check at 7:50. She came back to pick it up at 8:06. 16 min between check ins at table is bad service that costs the business guests...and money in table turns. Granted I have 30 years experience in this business, but the issues were just too many, and too obvious. Doylestown deserves better restaurants. It's begging for them. Not sure why it's rated so poorly. I had a great time. I didn't really expect much. I love the interior it's open and fun and warm. All my friend and I wanted was snacks and drinks. It was perfect for that. It was snowing there was college football on the TV. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. I'm not the biggest IPA fan. The poutine was not traditional but it is good. A bit on the salty smokey side but I love that. It made it better for me. The wait staff is great. read more

I've given the Station Tap House two shots for food and drinks and it's gonna be a no for me dawg. The restaurant has a ton of potential - a huge layout with a big bar for plenty of seating, an outdoor patio, a long list of beers on tap and a bunch of TVs for sports. Outside of those factors, this place falls flat. Both times I've visited there were two bartenders, one was great and moved quickly to take care of everyone, the other can only manage to blink once every 5 minutes. Our group has tried the cheesesteak eggrolls, chicken tenders, calamari, tacos, buffalo chicken salad, and quesadilla. My friend's quesadilla came out 15 minutes before any other food so we just stared at her eating, and the other food was either cold or the quality of a freezer section dinner. For reference, we arrived last night at the beginning of the last Eagles preseason game and by halftime could only manage to get served two beers and our food came out with 2 minutes left to the half. We were ready to drink and enjoy football but since we could only get one Miller Lite every 45 minutes, it was time to leave for the second half. When you pair bad food with slower than slow service, it just makes for a painful experience. So much potential with this place, especially with football season and a seemingly "good" sports bar, but our group decided we won't be back. read more

A loyal fan of the former Freight House. Stopped in late'ish Sunday afternoon with Hubbs and was surprised it was so quiet. Prior attempts had us waiting for a table or seat, the joint is typically packed. A holiday weekend was a win for us! Started off with cocktails and craft beer(s). Station Taphouse has an abundant selection of top choices in both categories. Our meals, which included the poutine fries, salad and burger arrived in a staggered but timely manner and looked amazing. The poutine fries were FABULOUS and had a nice ratio of toppings = fry. Love that every fry was drizzled in rich gravy and cheese. SO. GOOD. My Cobb salad was modified w/salmon, but came out with both chicken and salmon. My mistake? The chicken was chopped, akin to what you would find on a chicken cheesesteak, not chicken breast. Nonetheless, the salmon was delicious and plentiful. Always a big fan of this place, the atmosphere, tons of tv's, expansive bar, and the indoor/outdoor seating options to accommodate larger parties. I ordered from STH through Door Dash last night because my oldest son likes their food. They get two stars because the burger was the only thing in our order that was remotely edible. We ordered two portions of cheesesteak egg rolls and the loaded tots. Did the kitchen staff just say screw it because it was a takeout order?! The egg rolls were over fried, greasy, and looked like they were just thrown in the to go container. Not to mention one order was cut in half and the other still whole egg rolls. The loaded tots were not very loaded, soggy and also looked like they were thrown in a container. For what I spent on the food itself, delivery charges, and fees I could have gone out and had a dinner at an establishment who takes pride in their food. The one star is for the ambiance. The service was terrible and the food was worse. Everything took forever-just meeting our waiter to order drinks took over ten minutes. My friend ordered the stir fry and it was so bad she did not eat it and did not order anything else. My fiancé ordered a cheesesteak and both the meat and bun were very dry. I frequent the Station Tap House every now and again on the way home from work for a quick bite or out to dinner on weekends. The positives: The wait staff is attentive, timely and usually thoughtful enough to be social, which makes you - as a customer - feel welcome. The ambiance is nice, and they've done a good job of making sure you don't feel like your in some generic, franchise type of environment. Parking is ample in nearly every experience I've had at this location. Even when they're really busy, I've never struggled for a reasonably nearby parking space. The food, when its prepared correctly, is usually very good. The apps are good and their bar selection is extensive. Now, the not-so-positives: When the kitchen is having an off night, you'll know it. As most reviews here about Station Tap House note, the food can be hit or miss. When it's a hit, you'll be planning your next visit. When it's a miss you'll be particularly unhappy when the check arrives. I'm not sure why this is the case. The hallmark of a restaurant is consistent quality of the food it produces. My advice to management: someone in the kitchen isn't paying attention. You might want to focus more attention there. My only other criticism is more of a design issue than anything the owner or employees can do anything about. When it is crowded, the restaurant becomes extremely loud. On my last visit, there was some type of St. Patrick's Day party taking place and no one - not the bartender, the host or anyone else - could hear a thing. I couldn't wait to leave. Now that's an extreme case. However, I've been there on a business Friday or Saturday night and it's not the type of place where you'll be able to have a conversation when they are busy. Overall, it's a nice place with good options on the menu assuming you can catch the kitchen on one of its better days. read more

This was our first time at the Tap House, we were very disappointed. They sat us next to the kitchen and unfortunately we got to see what it looked like in the kitchen when the doors would open. Not one person cooking or touching the food was wearing gloves. We ordered nachos with pork, the pork was soggy and tasteless, the waiter agreed us (he said he wouldn't eat it either) and sent it back. Couldn't figure out what kind of cheese it was on our nachos, certainly wasn't something that tasted familiar. We ordered a burger which was just okay. Attention managers...Cooks & anyone who's working with food should be wearing gloves at all times. read more

I'm really shocked at the bad reviews - my experiences here have been nothing but great! I really wish more people were inclined to leave good reviews when they've had a good experience. Ah, thus is the mind set these days to only write when something isn't up to expectations, ahhh life. Anyway - the atmosphere is great. Love the long bar, lots of beers on tap, and the bar chairs are comfortable. I've sat perched on them waiting for my fiance very comfortably with a glass of wine and a light nosh. The bartenders are always friendly and check up on you when necessary. I've always found that they'll hold light conversation if you seem like the type, if not...they know when to back off. That's a good thing cause I'm more of the back off type person. :) With that said, I'm also quite introverted, so for me to feel comfortable sitting alone in a restaurant, at a bar and eat and drink...alone.....def kudos for having a great comfortable atmosphere. Many TVs above the bar to keep you occupied, tuned to different channels. Haven't sat outside yet, anytime I've done its either been 90+ degrees, or raining! So inside for us. Sat at the high tops, and the regular tables, both comfortable. Service has always been efficient and friendly. I read in another review the salad size was small - I've had the same salad, and most of the rest of them and they are not small by any means....not sure what happen there! All of the food we've had over our visits have been really good and fresh. Admitting, their onion rings are great and we order them every time. Salad and onion rings.....I know I know. :) I would recommend coming here, it's a great space with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Been coming here for quite a long time. Long time Doylestown resident. Has always been nice bar to go to to sit at the bar and have some drinks and a meal. Came tonight at 6pm and immediately asked to give our credit card to start a tab. We were like, we are eating here. I am not giving a credit card to eat dinner here. Bartender walked away but strangely brought the drinks we ordered. Never came back. We paid for the 2 drinks and left and went to eat somewhere else. Will not be going back for a long time. Maybe old fashioned, but not giving my credit card in advance to have dinnerat an "upscale" Doylestown restaurant. Very disappointed read more

We went for dinner on Friday evening. We were seated at a tall table near the bar. Good points: extensive beer list, decent service. Poor points: wife had crab cakes. Obviously frozen and microwaved (perfectly round and uniformly browned, even on the edges. They had never seen a skillet or flat top). I had shrimp skewers, obviously prepackaged and frozen. The Station Tap house is a welcome addition to the dining and nightlife scene in Doylestown. Taking over the Freight House location at the R5 Station, the owners of the Jamison Pour House and Wycombe Publick House have brought a casual menu with a very good beer program to the Borough. Beer wise they have 36 taps, very few of the macro lagers, and a knowledgeable bartending staff that can help you select the right beer. Furthermore, their menu even suggests styles that might pair with the food. The menu reads like a best of the other two establishments they own. I tried two of the dishes on the other menus, buffalo shrimp and crab macaroni and cheese. The former was six shrimp served tail off tossed in buffalo sauce, and a side of blue cheese dressing. Relative to the version at the Wycombe it was pretty tame. The crab mac was also a bit disappointing as it lacked crab flavor, and the cheese sauce was a bit thin. The sauce was also a neon orange resembling Kraft. I am sure these are just early days for the kitchen, and things will settle down. All in all we are lucky to have another good place to dine in Doylestown. read more

Great restaurant. We stopped there after visiting peddlers village, and there was no wait at all even at rush time which is great especially with two young kids. I asked for a smaller type pasta so my daughter didn't choke, and they were very accommodating. After a few minutes the waiter came out to ask if it was ok if he switched pastas with another member from the table because it was going to take a while longer to cook, so that meal would be on the house. Egads. Went for lunch. Greeted by BLARING music in the cavernous dining room. (But it was 80s music like Madonna and Paula Abdul which I love) Then tried to find a table and chairs that weren't sticky and crumby. No luck, we wiped down the area ourselves. Service was friendly. Menu is nice and varied (pub food). Kitchen (only two other tables seated) ridiculously slow. Sports on tv to watch while waiting and waiting and waiting... Food was meh. Everything was a little dry (chicken, beef) and it seems the only seasoning used in this place is salt. And a lot of it. We won't go back. Instead we'll hop a train on out of there for one of the other 999 mediocre places to eat in Doylestown. read more

The service here was very friendly and attentive. I had a burger and the waffle chicken tenders. The burger was perfect. It was called exactly as I ordered and very tasty. They make a root beer barbecue sauce that is delicious. The waffle chicken tenders were good, but not amazing. They dip the chicken in waffle batter, which was great. I've been here a few times, so figured it was due for a quick review. Great beer selection (best in town, such as it is) and above average tavern food. Service had its ups and downs, but adequate every time. I think the place gets pretty crowded in the weekends, but it's such a large restaurant so there should be no wait; more of an issue with parking rather than capacity. During the week is a good time to grab a beer and a burger. It's a laid back place. Pickles can use an upgrade :). Wow, the food has really gone downhill. What used to be above average is now nothing better than your local sandwich shop. I had the Porchetta sandwich and my friend had one of their burgers. Both were so average, almost lame. May be a nice enough place to come back for a beer, but I'll eat elsewhere. Bummer! read more

Our first time there was about a month ago with my family and we had a young man as our server and he was very enthusiastic and we intended on sitting in Mikes section again the next time we were there. We got apps and drinks and the beer selection was very large and good for everyone and he really seemed to know how to recommend. The second time I was there same thing, different server, still very pleasant, food was great. The wait staff is very cordial. Was a bit loud but not enough to complain. Our most recent time there and why I am writing because it stayed on my mind. I came in with my sister and we sat at the bar, it was her first time there and I told her everything was great when I went. Our bartender looked like he needed to wash his face, had gauged ears and seemed tired, was more focused on talking to a girl at the bar instead of serving his customers. It took us 20 mins to get his attention to order food. We ordered the tacos which came out soggy and almost cold, our entrees were fine. It was hard to enjoy our food because our bartender kept talking about his personal life, loudly to the girl next to us. We kept turning to each other to laugh. I am not sure if bartenders at Station Tap House are allowed to drink behind the bar or not, but this one should not have because we could tell. Ate here for dinner and the service AND food were AWFUL. We sat at our table for a half hour without anyone coming over to greet us and take a drink order. The restaurant was practically empty and there were plenty of staff, so I'm not sure why we were invisible. We finally asked someone if a server would be coming over and then another 15 mins later someone finally came over. We ordered nachos for an app and they were ice cold, and covered in some sort of gross cheese sauce instead of real cheese. Then for dinner I ordered mahi tacos ... they were inedible -- the fish was slimy and I quickly realized it was barely cooked. Our server hadn't come over at all after we got our main meals, she just brought the check over to us 30 mins later and didn't seem to notice my entire dinner was still in front of me. We told her the fish was basically raw, so she supposedly showed her manager and then came back with the bill again, saying they took the mahi tacos off the bill, as though that was a special thing. No apology and the manager never came to our table, either. Overall -- terrible service and terrible food. We will not go back! read more

Quick note about recent Happy Hour experience. Took advantage of moderate, late October weather to celebrate On the patio. Arrived around 5, seated quickly and greeted by our waitress courtney. Our group of Eight advised her we'd prefer separate checks by couple, which she indicated wouldn't be a problem. I questioned her about Facebook/Messenger Free App offer. We asked if we could redeem multiple ones, since it says "One per check". She said, "No Problem" Drinks arrived and we ordered apps. The weekly special had Asian Pork Shanks for $10. Asian seasoning on slow roasted shanks with crispy skin. We ended up getting three orders. Fantastic. A few cocktails later we got our checks, which were correct the first time (a rare occurrence in the region) with complimentary apps deducted. Great evening, good food and drinks. Visiting for work for the week. Main goal is for me is to search for then eat food places in town when out of my zip code. Surprisingly I didn't read any reviews before making my a short trip from the hotel to the Station Tape House. You should be weary of the directions google maps directions to get to this place, I believe they think it's on the other side of the train tracks. Any how, Sitting right next to a active train station makes it an interesting POI. I recommend trying to get a table outside if the weather cooperates. I started off with a staple IPA from 420. With close to 40 beers on tap and many more bottle choices as well as a full liquor bar, they had something for everyone. I ordered the jumbo Bavarian pretzel which lived up to its name. I did try to order the Cheese steak egg rolls, however they had been 69'd. For the main course I went with a traditional Philly cheese steak. The bartender has never had it before, which left me skeptical but I decided that wasn't going to change my mind. And as expected it didn't disappoint, my only complaint is that the plate wasn't big enough to for ketchup! Left full and very please with the service. I highly recommend trying out this hidden gem. I'm only giving them 4 starts out of 5 due to not being able to try the Philly cheese egg rolls! I look forward to returning soon. read more

Very loud with hit or miss food. I was super excited when they brought a new sports bar to Doylestown, as there really isn't one. They have bunch of good beer which is the only reason to ever go there. The food is very overpriced for what you get and you honestly never know how it's going to taste. Also, if you want to have an intimate conversation forget about it. As soon as people start to file in the sound level gets insanely loud. Good place for a couple beers at an off hour. Otherwise, steer clear. read more
