    Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure

It's a bar so Amigo Dan was with me. This was a very good stop. They have grilled cheese and cheesesteak on the menu. I asked for grilled cheesesteak, the bartender said no problem but I have to charge you an extra $3. I said, no problem. He asked if we wanted tomato or bacon. We said yes to bacon. This was a very tasty grilled cheesesteak. This would score very high as a grilled cheese with steak. As a grilled cheese cheesesteak, I would have liked more cheese and meat but it was still good. The bacon added a nice flavor. The chef was working on a BarBQue - Bourbon sauce. He gave us a sample. It starts as a nice BBQ sauce and then the Bourbon smacks you in the face. I like Bourbon smacking me in the face! That's going to be an amazing sandwich!

I love the nachos. They are so big that you need to share with 3 or 4 people. The staff is very friendly. There are booths as well as a bar. It's not very loud so if you want to have a conversation you still can. There is a large IPA take out section. They have one pool table with specials Sunday and Wednesday. Trivia night on Tuesday is so much fun.

A late evening visit with a big group of friends . Server was helpful and accommodated us in a booth eventhough they already closed that section .decent selection of Beer's and spirits. I really liked spicy chk wings and chicken loaded Nachos.

Nice bar. They have a lot of TVs, pool table, takeout... Good craft beer selection. Not too loud of a bar. Service was good

We took our food and left. We weren't allowed to use the pool table unless we beat the man currently using it.

Most familiar places were closed, it being Monday so we took to Google to see what our options were. We just wanted burgers. Nothing fancy. We got seated right away and got to peruse the menu. Simple and to.the point. More than reasonable prices for how excellent the food is. Nothing over $20 on the menu. Seriously. I got the maple bbq burger. Now, the only note I have is the bacon could've been crispier. Other than that, it was juicy, full of flavor, cooked perfectly and all elements worked in harmony. The bbq sauce wasn't too sweet or ketchup-y like some and the maple bacon was YUM. My mom got the cheese burger with cooper sharp and it was heavenly. The tomatoes were just bursting with flavor. The decor is geared towards music. We had an old pic of Sonny & Cher with Bob Dylan. It was hard to look at given how changed Cher is from her um... enhancements. The ceiling is covered with old concert.posters & it was a hoot picking all of the ones I LURVE out (old Bowie poster.from the 70s to start). There are TV screens EVERYWHERE with ALL current games showing. I could watch a baseball game while the.flyers were hopefully beating Pittsburgh.(Sorry to all da burgh fans) Just a fun place for great food & drink. The parking lot and the…read moreinterior were huge, but I came at opening on a weekday, so it looked a lot more empty inside than it was. Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

I had a Breakfast Stoudt and Pliny IPA, both were served in nice glassware. My female friend had a Toffee martini (IIRC) and a "hard" lemonade cocktail. Sorry, can't remember the names, but both were good. We ordered a basket of fries in between. We sat in the large dining area and had really good service from our server and had two others check-in on us regularly to refill water, etc. It was the perfect level of service for two people taking up a dining room table to basically drink. The dinner crowd poured in and out without too much noise. TVs had the Winter Olympics on at a low volume. I wanted to move to the bar but she wasn't interested, but I did see the pool table and game area when we walked in, and I'd love to check out the outdoor deck area sometime. This place definitely has more to offer than its outward appearance would make you think. Other reviews called it a "dive" bar but I didn't really get that vibe.

It took several minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and even longer before we received menus. Once we finally had them, we were given plenty of time to review our options. I initially ordered the Loaded Ranch Egg Rolls and asked if they could be made without the ranch sauce. The server politely explained that the sauce was pre-mixed and could not be removed. No problem. I skipped the appetizer and decided on the Chicken and Waffles instead. That's when I was told they were out of waffles but could substitute pancakes. I'm still not sure how a restaurant can be out of waffles but not pancakes, but I moved on. Next, I ordered a Chicken Cheesesteak with vodka sauce. I specifically asked about the vodka sauce because it was offered on their meatball sub. The server assured me it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, it was a problem. My Chicken Cheesesteak arrived with marinara sauce instead of the vodka sauce I had requested and been assured was available. To make matters worse, the receipt showed an additional charge and clearly listed marinara sauce. The sandwich itself was also disappointing. As a cheesesteak, it appeared to have little to no cheese on it. If there was cheese, the amount was so minimal that I genuinely couldn't tell it was there. Between the slow service, unavailable menu items, incorrect order, lackluster food quality, and being charged extra for the wrong sauce, this was a very disappointing dining experience.

We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Rating: 3.5
