Very loud with hit or miss food. I was super excited when they brought a new sports bar to Doylestown, as there really isn't one. They have bunch of good beer which is the only reason to ever go there. The food is very overpriced for what you get and you honestly never know how it's going to taste. Also, if you want to have an intimate conversation forget about it. As soon as people start to file in the sound level gets insanely loud. Good place for a couple beers at an off hour. Otherwise, steer clear. read more

I know this is a new restaurant and normally I don't write "bad reviews" often. But I did not enjoy my experience here. One positive was the location itself is nice. The indoor restaurant looked cool, the bar looked clean and the outside area, where we sat, was nice. The food was far over priced for the quality and the amount. I got the "jumbo lump crab Mac & cheese " for $17 dollars which wasn't a bad price except the crab was finely shredded and almost non-existent. It looked like it should have been flavorful but it tasted just like milky Kraft macaroni not a sharp cheddar or that it had any real seasoning. My biggest gripe is that I paid $17 for the large because I thought the small would be too small, however the $9.50 small was not much smaller than my large. Also there were no salads or bread given and it took awhile for our food to come. Our waitress was friendly but seldom stopped by our table. The waitress of the table next to us visited their table 3 times as often as ours did. Our waitress also offered a soup of the day and then minutes before our meal came out told us they do not have a soup of the day until the winter - even though she told us the flavor for the soup du jour. Everything else was a disappointment. 2 day old salad, water down dressing, onion rings dripping with oil. Looks good for happy hour, however, plenty of better options in D-town if you are hungry. My co-workers and I went here for lunch since our office is within walking distance. Sadly, the experience does not live up to the space itself which is spacious and nicely designed. Pros: Big outdoor space, cool interior design. Cons: terrible play list, 100% mediocre and unforgettable food (we got wraps, burgers and sliders - they all sucked.) and to top it off, the service was terrible. Seriously, it couldn't get worse. It started off when we were seated without a beer list. Then we ordered our food and drinks and waited. After a good 15 minutes, the waiter returned to let us know half the beers we ordered were not available. This was followed by mass confusion over what was actually available. We finally got our drinks 30 minutes after arriving, at the same time our food came. No apologies from the staff. Like I mentioned, the food was not worth the bad service. Burgers were absolutely flavorless, pulled pork was dry, brisket was dry, and the cole slaw was brown. Then we got our billed and discovered the waiter charged us for beers that we originally ordered but were not available. We finally paid but then it was another 30 minutes before we got our credit cards back! And again, no apology for the wait. The restaurant was not busy - in fact there looked like more staff than customers. Bottom line: if you want to sit outside next to the coming and going trains, by all means go to the Station Tap House and pay for bad food and service. If you want a good draft list, good food and good service, go to Pag's Pub or Mom's. read more

Very underwhelming. Parking during the day is very difficult even though the restaurant may be quiet. This is still a train stop. It's pretty enough and the service was very good but today was really sub par food wise. My buddy asked for a chicken cheese steak, but received a beef one. I order a chicken parm but it was subparm. The roll was over toasted or stale and heated, either way yuck. Lots of cheese a sauce but the chicken was not hot. I'll assume it was made ahead and sat around. The onion rings where pretty good. Just got take out... I placed my order by phone, got a call back because one of the items I ordered was no longer on the menu. Picked up the food, which was ready on time and everyone was friendly - good marks there. Came home, sat down to eat and apparently the "Alaskan pallock" described on the menu for the fish tacos is now "Maki", which to those of you who don't eat fish, might sound like no big deal. Imagine if you ordered chicken breast and instead got pulled pork. To me, it makes the dish inedible... I'll survive, but STH, could you please just update your menu on here??? read more

Visited Station Tap house for Mother's Day brunch. Not a disaster, but it was not great. Learned from staff that a number of kitchen staff called out sick, causing major delays in food availability. Regardless of this problem, the selection of food was average/mediocre. Deserts included a number of store-bought pastries and cookies. I went to the Station Tap House 06/15 for a company party. We were able to reserve the diner, meaning that there were extra servers on staff to help take our orders. Other people were allowed to come to the restaurant but our company paid for unlimited drink and food the whole night. We had excellent service and after the first drink many of the bartenders already knew your drink order which was nice. The outdoor seating is a nice bonus when there is a group of thirty people standing around. The bathrooms were clean and not your usual bar bathrooms which tend to be the last thing to get cleaned. As far as food... it was average. The best food I actually had was the mozzarella sticks, they were actually triangles and DELICIOUS. I woke up the next more thinking about them. However they had very little items on the menu that were vegetarian which was rather disappointing. When I asked my other coworkers what they thought about the food no one was really overly impressed with what they had eaten. There weren't really any big complaints on what they had but they no one had anything over the top to say about the food. When it comes to drinks this is the place to go. They have a large beer option and many different hard ciders to choose from. If beer isn't your thing they also have a full bar. If I were to go back with my friends I would go to this restaurant to grab a beer and some appetizers. It was a nice place to hang out and relax with a great environment. read more

My husband and I have been going to Station Tap House over the past few years mostly because we love their extensive beer list, but we'd also typically grab a bite to eat as well. In the last year or so, we felt the quality of the food had changed significantly, and we really cut back on getting food there at all. The beer selection just keeps getting better and better, and that keeps us going back. The bartenders and wait staff are also pretty great--friendly, helpful, good at their jobs. However, about 2 weeks ago, we went to the Tap House and the bartender told us that there was a new chef, so naturally, we tried some of the food that he recommended. The chicken parm was out of this world! We went back again last night for dinner and had another repeat of awesome food (braised beef with real mashed potatoes!!)--great quality, cooked perfectly, tasty... We are happy to return now for dinners, knowing of this change in the kitchen! (And we'll still go for beers!) read more

Just had dinner there with a friend trying to use a birthday coupon offers by the establishment only to learn after the check came and I tried to apply the coupon that it was not valid because there was alcohol on the bill. When I tried to discuss with the manager I was told I should have read the small print which states no alcohol allowed with this Birthday surprise. I tried to make the case that this should have been clearly stated in the offering no budging from this manager -- not even something like, well since there was a misunderstanding I'll take something off the bill. No, nothing. False advertising and no good will about it. Not somewhere I will be going back to at all. Do not like false advertising/businesses luring you in with an offer only to fine it's not valid. Food is okay, beer list extensive but there are plenty of other places with the same. read more

We go to this place because it's part of Yelp's 5% cash back. The food is okay not great, but they have a nice bar area. The dining area is big so it seats a lot of people therefore we usually never have a wait. It's good for a last minute decision on a weekend. read more

I had lunch last week with friends and the service was soooo slow!! we were there for almost 2 hours which is crazy during lunch time......took forever to get the bill and then to process the bill!!!! Great venue for watching the featured game on the many screens. Great beer selection. Not good for conversation or for hearing the game - way too loud. Food is mediocre. Food is good. Service is ok. Noise level was a bit loud. Some little kids were running around the restaurant screaming their heads off. I wish someone at the restaurant would have went over to the table and asked the parents to quiet down their children or keep them seated. Suppose a waiter or waitress was walking with hot food and one of those kids ran into them and they spilled hot food all over the child. Then the restaurant would have an issue. read more

We had lunch there yesterday and had a very mixed review on this. The location is cool, building is nice inside, food was good. However the service was severely lacking. Apps came out and hot mussle broth was poured down the side of one of our party. The manager did come over and apologize and joked with us, however there was not a dime taken off the bill. We've both worked in the business for a long time, accidents happen, but you offer something to the customer comp wise, not just a joke and an apology. The restaurant was not busy at all, and we could see what wait staff was there sitting and chatting while we were waiting for food, waiting for other drinks, waiting for the bill and to pay. First impressions: Parking was easy (considering parking in Doylestown can be tough). The building itself is really cool, nice architecture inside and out. You walk into the restaurant Bar area, which is loud like a bar usually is. Lots of windows overlooking the train tracks/station/trains. Nice menu, especially the beer list. Pros: The available beers were great and the menu was organized in an easy to use manner. Appetizers were very good. We had garlic fries and Ruben eggrolls. Both came out quickly as did our beers. Cons: Beers seemed a little pricey. Our table was in a very awkward spot. If it wasn't for my beautiful wife I'd only be able to look at wall or the entrance to the kitchen. Main course, disappointed. I ordered the Porchetta sandwich. It turned out that means a $12 chicken cheese steak. It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't a porchetta sandwich in my opinion. My wife's order sounded promising as well; Crab Mac and Cheese. Nope, it came out and we both said "Kraft mac and cheese". Guess what, that's what it tasted like too. I'm not dissing Kraft mac and cheese but this is s restaurant. Good thing she ordered the small serving. Overall: If you like unique beers its great if you don't mind paying a premium. Great location. Hopefully they will listen to reviews and tweak their menu. I think it would be a nice place for happy hour, but not dinner (yet). I'll probably go back one more time in a few months to see if they make some changes. read more

This spot is located right next to the doylestown train station. The restaurant is large and is usually filled on a weekend. The out door seating is available but does not have heaters. The beer selection and bar is one of the best in doylestown . The food is good and is what you expect at a restaurant that size. Amazing gluten free options! Reasonable pricing for hosting events in their back room. And, most of all, great parking right out front.

Their fried mozzarella is SO good. During the day, it's a great place for kids. My daughter loved watching the trains come through.

Food was sub par. Came out cold. Everything lacked seasoning. Ended up packing everything. Way over price for what was served.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I had been here before and didn't have the best time. I recently revisited and that changed. The service was great, we had a large party so there was a lot to handle. We got our appetizers very quickly and main course soon after. Great beer with a wide tap list. I don't know what's worse-- the service or the patrons. It's a shame because the beer list is good. We left because the bartender was too busy answering prank phone calls from patrons sitting at the bar to take our order. Poor experience. Fried mozzarella was light on the mozzarella. Steak was a poor cut of filet mignon and was overlooked. The seared tuna came burnt to a crisp and was inedible. It was ordered rare. Food was slow to come out. Would not recommend at all. read more

I give it 4 stars mainly for the bar and beer selections. The bar is about 40 feet long which makes it one of the biggest in the area. They have several new flat screens that always have the popular games on. Bartenders are so-so, not the friendliest bunch, but knowledgeable about the selections and distributors. I LOVE the draft beer selection here! At least 20 beers on-tap at all times, including several locals. Can order a tasking flight, if you wish. Prices are comparable to market. I would give another star, but the menu is less than desirable. There are not many choices and I always find myself coming back to the same 3 things. No specials to speak of...I suspect this place thinks of itself as a bar 1st, then a restaurant, hence the limited menu, but if you look at the square footage, the restaurant section is much larger. there are other places around D-town that offer a more diverse menu, with beer selections, they're just not as large or have a long bar. I love Station Tap House! I love trains, so being able to look out the giant windows at the trains, either coming and going or just parked on the tracks is a major bonus for me. This restaurant also has very versatile seating options - from a nice long bar, bar tables, or more family friend tables in the back. The food is always tasty and they offer a great variety of options. I've had great appetizers, sandwiches, or nice entree style meals. We like this place. A bit pricier than other places in town for lunch, but they make a buffalo chicken cheese-steak that's the best in the area. Good looking place--- love the huge, concrete bar-top that you could land an airliner on. They've hired some of the Dtown service-industry stalwarts who're known for being good at their jobs. The outside seating is plentiful, and makes for fine al fresco dining if the weather suits. The concept of the beer list on vertical flat-screen TVs is great. They'd earn one more star if their beer selection was being done a bit more thoughtfully. It was when they first opened, but now the 36 taps seem to be filled with a lot of redundant beers--- particularly IPAs, where all dozen or so seem to be of the super-hoppy variety. I am not a food critic, but as a local resident for over 25 years, I have seen my share of restaurants come and go including the aforementioned and cougar-frequented Freight House. Three of us went to the Tap House on Thursday night and came away really impressed and hoping this place thrives. The entrance is decent-sized with a sports-bar theme. Lots of TVs and a place to attract people who want to watch a game, meet and greet while drinking and eating apps. Further back, is a more traditional restaurant set up. I am not a beer expert, but the two I ordered off the Beer menu were very good. We enjoyed wings (some of the meatiest and best I have enjoyed in D-town in quite a while) a Cheeseburger, Fish & Chips and a Beef Brisket sandwich. The food was great, moderately priced, and the service friendly and attentive. I would give the place 4 1/2 stars -- really enjoyed it. You can't please everyone as the previous posts indicate and every restaurant has its off days/nights, especially a place getting started. But as for me - and my family, we'll definitely be back! read more
