I love working with artists, but I love working with professional artists too. You know, not the type that's so creative they're unreliable and flighty, but the type that is just the right mix of brilliance and practicality - like David and his team at Statue of Design. I just knew he would take my ideas and make them come to life in a way only a seasoned professional with a beautifully creative mind can. And he did. It's true, Statue of Design is not your standard "florist." Nothing about this group is regular. Instead, they strive to make each event an artistic representation of their client, by non flower experts in the right direction, or in my case, completely taking the reigns and executing a jaw-dropping tablescape. I was the bride that really didn't care which flowers went where, what specific blooms were used, which containers they were in, etc. So, David and his team took what little direction I gave them, and completely took my breath away with the result. From the reception decor, to the unique bridesmaids flowers, to my picture-perfect bouquet, it was more perfect than I ever imagined. In addition to the flowers, David and his team also helped guide the overall event aesthetic, consulting with me on things like place settings, linen color, lighting, tent placement, and all those extra details that most of us don't even take into account (which you want to do for something as important as your wedding.) I said from the beginning of working with David that all I wanted was to walk into my reception and have it look timeless, classic, and elegant. It was that, but above and beyond. It is least important to me what other people think, but hearing from our guests that it was the most beautiful wedding they'd attended certainly didn't hurt. read more

I met David years ago though a mutual friend. Over time, we've bonded via social media over a love of animals and a flare for the fabulous. I quickly became a big fan of his floral work. When I got engaged, I couldn't think of another florist to contact. I emailed him right away. I was scattered and unsure of what direction I wanted to go. The only certainty was that I was getting married in California, I wanted Statue of Design to do my decor and I wanted the flowers to be in laboratory glass. As time grew near, my floral dreams began to morph. I wanted gold animals, woodland creatures, moss, antlers, botanical garden-type flowers that were very "different," dahlias, flower colors that resemble the sunset, air plants, succulents. Purples, reds, yellows, greens, and this crazy flower and that one and string lights, no candles, but maybe candles and terrariums. The more I looked on Pinterest, the crazier my vision got. It must have been a nightmare for their team. At one point, I knew I was in over my head and I had lost the ability to make all of these stand alone ideas cohesive. David had become my idea dartboard. I just told him all that I wanted and prayed that he could pull it together. I collected items from eBay and etsy, and garage sales and dumpsters. Through it all, David and his team were happily recording my crazy ideas, and working hard to turn it into a dream wedding. I was emailed photos of flowers, given a pinterest board of my very own to approve and add to, and most importantly, they always made me feel like my opinion mattered. They responded to my questions day or night and I was confident that I had made the right choice in hiring statue of design. Fast forward to the wedding week. They flew out to Los Angeles, CA days before to prepare, collected my items and assured me that they could make it all work. I wished them luck, threw up my hands and put all my faith in their creative hands and minds with no certainty of the final aesthetic as I had given them artistic freedom to do what felt right knowing my vision. On the day of the wedding, I walked into the most absolutely over the top gorgeous view. It was better than I could have ever imagined. Not only had he made my scattered thoughts all work as one cohesive theme, it was the most gorgeous, wedding set up I had ever seen in my life, and it was MY WEDDING!! I felt like I had just won the wedding lottery without even having to buy a ticket. My bouquet, the tables, the ambiance... It was elegant, decadent, original, thoughtful, robust and left me speechless. And I am sure you can tell by this review, I am a girl of many words. I cried like a baby and was thankful for waterproof mascara! I can't thank David and his crew enough for making my wedding day the most memorable day ever. I am still getting compliments on the tables and the decor weeks later. THESE AREN'T FLORISTS, THEY'RE ARTISTS! OH! and the best part??? His prices were better than every florist in town.
