That being said parking can be tricky to find especially on weekends. This visit we got there after 12 pm on a busy Saturday and all the pastries were sold out. Stopped in after a visit to the super cool book store that's essentially connected to this place (check that out too!). The had "infused cold brew" which is something I never saw before. The flavor of the moment was Vermont maple! It was unsweetened but you could taste the maple flavor. With a little bit of half and half and brown sugar simple syrup - a delightful coffee! You likely stumbled upon this place as it's situated beside of on the coolest bookstores, the book loft of German village. This coffee house had a ton of seating inside and out and also has a public restroom. The coffee menu is pretty standard, but I wasn't sure if they offered matcha, so I had to ask the cashier. The cashier confirmed they sold matcha and so I ordered one. The matcha wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. The service is what compelled me to give this coffeehouse a 4 star rating. read more

Staufs in GV might just be my favorite Columbus coffee shop! Front room, back room, and outdoor seating so there is plenty of space even on the crowded weekends. Love a good local coffee shop. We are staying nearby for a wedding this weekend, and have been here everyday this week. They have plenty of options and there's always something new to try. This local coffee joint is located in the heart of German Village, and next to the Book Loft. We walked over and when we walked in, we were greeted with the incredible coffee smells. The roaster located right at the front and endless bags of coffee. I ended up trying their drink of the day, and loved it. The cold brew made for a really refreshing drink and the energy kicked right in. We also got a few different savory items, the toasted bagel came with 2 cream cheese cups which was perfect for both sides of the bagel. All in all we had such a great experience, and can't wait to come back and try more coffee blends & drinks. read more

The lavender chamomile iced tea is so-so, not a very pungent flavor of lavender or chamomile either. At least there are more loose tea options here than the kiosk at North Market. read more

There weren't a lot of options in the area during our visit that were open, and thankfully Stauf's covered what we needed! I'm not usually a big coffee guy so I'm always a bit hesitant to review coffee shops. But the staff was really friendly (though understandably annoyed at the rude crowd in front of me) and helpful. You could tell the place gets a lot more traffic, is a big open space that would be nice to work in if there aren't many people around -- though I'd imagine that's a rarity. A bit more unkempt than I anticipated on this visit, especially given how slow it was. Not necessarily long-term neglect, just things like the counter with napkins and such being pretty well-used and scattered. But maybe it was busy right before we walked in and they hadn't gotten there yet. read more

The location is fantastic. Nice place with lots of seating and an outdoor area to enjoy the nice spring weather. It was very busy in a Sunday morning with the line almost lit the door, yet service was still quick and the wait was pretty short all things considered. I ordered a cappuccino as I always do and asked the barista if they had different beams to choose from and if so if any of them were naturally processed. I don't think she quite understood the question because she simply responded by telling me that all beans were naturally processed. The cappuccino tasted ok, I have no idea what beans were used, for me personally though it lacked flavor. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time and the place was too busy for a discussion about beans, but I would come back in the future on a hopefully less busy day. read more

I enjoyed the summer special- a coffee cooler! It was a delicious cold brew concentrate with vanilla extract. I also enjoyed a chocolate chip scone. The location was buzzing with young folks, old folks, couples, all sorts of people. Many of them typing away on their laptops. This is a spot I'd work from if I lived here. Chiming in here this morning with a COVID-19 update on this location of Stauf's. I stopped by for a latte to find the entire coffee shop set up like a well oiled coffee making machine! Currently they are only offering coffee to-go, but on a nice day you are welcome to social distance outside on their luscious green patio. They really went above and beyond on the safety measures. From social distancing to one time use pens, plastic barriers, one-way traffic, you name it, they thought of it. I felt 100% safe the entire time I was there. As always, their coffee hits the spot. I'm glad to see they've kept their lavender syrup, as I love lavender in my latte all year round. I can't wait to get back here to work one day. I surely miss the hustle and bustle of remote workers, students, artists, and friends gathering here. It'll be here soon and I'll be back once more. read more

Came here this morning for my morning coffee before work and decided to try something different. Today I ordered the iced Chai latte for me and it was amazing and a black coffee for my boyfriendand it was great! Staff: The staff are always so sweet and welcoming and so patient especially when I want to try something new and can't make up my mind blessed their hearts for dealing with me this morning lol. Service: Super amazing and fast service they never disappoint. Their also very helpful in my decisiveness today which I appreciated so much. Selection: They always have an amazing selection and I love that they change things out here and there and bring in new product its refreshing. Quality: The quality is always top notch I've never been disappointed. Seating: My only complaint is that they are so good there's never enough seating but that's okay. Prices: For both my drinks I paid around $6 I believe. Honestly they have the best prices by far of anywhere else and ther coffee is the best. You definitely get what you pay for here Overall Experience: If your looking for a quiet and friendly place to get a coffee or tea you need to stop here and give it a try. I'm obsessed with the Stauf's located in German Village, although I have only been able to go a couple of times. You could easily grab a coffee to do some work inside, sit on the patio during nice weather, or walk around and enjoy the views of German Village. It can get busy, but they have the room in the back where it is more quiet for you to enjoy some peacefulness. The coffee at this particular location has always been on point! I tend to get iced chai tea in the summer and for some reason only this Stauf's location makes it the way I like it! You can also see that they roast their own coffee beans and they sell it also. There are plenty of syrup and flavor choices for your coffee and drinks along with milk alternatives for any dairy intolerances. read more

I was craving a cup of coffee before heading out on a hike so my boyfriend and I found a local coffee shop near our airbnb in German village. There were plenty of seatings inside and outside of the shop which is perfect for anyone that wants to get some work or readings done! I got a triple shot espresso and my boyfriend got a double shot espresso. We're not huge fans of sweet coffee so we ordered our usual. Both drinks were a bit too bitter for our liking, though, and had a distinct aftertaste. This coffee shop is located in a very cute neighborhood so it would be a nice place to quickly grab some coffee or pastries while walking around. Lived in Columbus for decades and I've never been here, even when it was a different shop. And it's next to The Book Loft, which is like a second home. Why? I'm not really a coffee drinker. But Sweetie is, and we had some fun at the bookstore and needed caffeine. Came in, Sunday late afternoon, and it was pretty busy. (Side note: coffee shops need a better service model; you have something small and cheap, and lots of people want it, but they have to wait forever and crowd the typically tiny counter. Someone come up with a better mousetrap.) Ordering was easy, and then we waited. Baby K and I walked around, checked out the back rooms, etc. There's a small seating area up front, a little hectic, then much larger and quieter spaces in back for studying, etc. I like the layout overall, and the simple, darkish decor. And the smell of coffee. Beans, lattes, all mixed together. Again, not a big coffee drinker- until we had a baby. Now I need more caffeine. I can appreciate a good cup, but tend toward the sweeter drinks. I got a buckeye, as did Sweetie, and they were very good. Strong, good coffee, nicely flavored but not overwhelmed with sweetness. Baby K got a cookie, and they have a very small selection of other sweets. We'll be back. Prices are a little high, as always at coffeeshops. But it's good stuff, and good service, and a cool place.
