What a nice surprise the Staybridge Suites in Liverpool was. Big room, 2 tvs, kitchen, countertop with chairs to sit out, living room, couch. We all gathered together. I was there on sad task (last visit to best friend's house, now deceased) but it hlped to have this great place to stay with her 2 daughters. Hearty breakfast. Best of all was the front desk. I left a cherished water flask I've had 30 years and after so many calls to shipping co and front desk, the shipping worked. We arrived at the beginning of check-in time, parked in a relatively empty lot, and entered to register. A stale odor permeated through the lobby. The 4-story property suites more than sufficed for the number of vehicles outside. It remains a mystery why we were given an accessible (handicapped) room in the farthest corner of the building. We didn't request or need such a room. There are advantages to these rooms, primarily associated with spaciousness. The disadvantage of this particular room is it has no closet. In the bathroom, it has a below-waist bar for hanging clothes. Dresses, slacks, and coats touch the floor when hung. I used the desk chair to "hang up" my clothing. The kitchen lacks a table, any silverware, or cups/mugs. It had 2 bowls, 3 bread plates, and 2 dinner plates stored in a cabinet that was not accessible. The bed I expect is only accessible on one side - given the bed is slightly higher than an average-height woman finds it easy to enter, it might not be considered ADA compliant. We were surprised that there were not any USB ports in the space. The complimentary breakfast - the hostess was friendly and helpful. Yet, she (or a colleague) failed to notice the baked goods were days past being edible - hard and dried out. We tossed ours. The area was clean, the food was decent and the staff replenished the items in a timely manner. The bottom line is that by picking some low-hanging fruit (fresh-backed goods, deodorized public spaces, and a kitchen setup) the experience would have been so much better. read more

I stayed at this hotel shortly after it first opened over 10 years ago and have since stayed more than a dozen time, and even after all that time it still is great! The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. This location also has a large and very nice continental breakfast that most people will find something to enjoy. We did get to have a diner there this last stay with spaghetti and meatballs and a salad and it was actually quite good and filling. More than anything, the staff has always been nice and accommodating so we come back again and again. Big thumbs up. read more

I am a nurse who came to Syracuse on a business trip. I chose this hotel because of great reviews. The hotel offered breakfast daily and I found out that they also offer dinner Monday-Thursday, which I thought was nice. The staff, while there, were polite. Unfortunately, I had an incident involving bugs in my room, resulting in a multitude of bug bites! I was switched rooms, the staff seemed nice about it. The manager, Michelle, assured me that the infested room would be out of service and I would receive the extermination report so that I'd know exactly what bugs bit me. Unfortunately, after checking out, the customer service changed. I have sent emails every week following up and inquiring about the extermination report with no response. I also called and left messages with staff for the manager; I have yet to receive any return calls or emails. It has now been 3 weeks. It makes me question guest safety and the protocols in place regarding bug infestations and proper extermination. It's very disappointing for a place that has such high reviews. Due to this incident and the way communication is being handled, I would not stay again nor recommend. read more

This has become my go-to hotel to stay at when I am in Liverpool for work for a night or two. This isn't the fanciest hotel, but I love the convenience and reliability. It is a straight shot off of the thruway which is so convenient. I never have a problem finding parking close to the entrance. It is never very crowded. The staff at check-in have always been very nice to me. One staff was especially nice trying to helo me find my room. They make an effort to decorate for holidays by the registration desk, which I think is cute. They have a small shop for incidentals if you left anything behind. There is a nearby seating area with a cozy fireplace and TV and a smaller room tucked away with big, comfy chairs. It was good for an informal two-person work meeting. Also, there are a few board games and books to borrow there. One of the huge perks is that they do a free breakfast and a free dinner. I don't think I have ever been to a hotel that does a free dinner. I'm not sure if that's a new trend, but it is so perfect for someone in my situation. I am usually traveling alone and, especially with COVID, I wouldn't want to stop at a restaurant to eat. I can grab an individually wrapped bagel, peanut butter, a banana, and coffee on the way to work in the morning. At night they have one menu choice for dinner. This obviously might not work well if you are a vegetarian or vegan or have food allergies. But it is nice to have an option available. Some of the things I have had are chicken breast with veggies and potatoes, pork chop with rice and veggies, stuffed chicken breast and everything comes with a little side salad and packet of Ken's dressing. O assume if you had a big appetite you could ask for two dinners. The bedrooms are suite-style which I like. I love having a little kitchenette. It comes stocked with just about anything you would need from a water pitcher to forks to dish soap and towels. I've used the microwave and even made ice for my water bottle in the freezer overnight. They do have an ice cube maker. One room I stayed in did not have one that worked but the last room did. There is also a hairdryer, coffee, and standard toiletries. I find the towel selection to be sufficient with lots of different sizes. They are not super rough like at some places I have stayed. The channel selections are sufficient. I have never had a problem hooking up to wifi and working from the room. There is a desk and comfy office chair. I find the mattresses on the beds to be so-so for comfort. They aren't hard and they aren't soft. It's almost like they are stuffed with something different than the usual mattress would be. When I lay down I'm always a little bummed, but I do think the pillows are extremely comfortable. I am not sure if this is the case every time, but 2 stays ago I noticed they specifically had soft and firm pillows provided. Also, they provide ample pillows which I love. The bedding is comfortable to me. Despite the mattress, I sleep very well each night. I've never had an issue with their bathroom. One thing that I have noticed that can be a little off-putting is that the bathtub can sometimes have dings or dents where the porcelain or enamel is chipped away. This isn't a big deal of course. But it makes the bathtub look like it isn't clean from the previous guest until you look closer. I think this has happened 3 times so I'm not sure why that would be. I rarely hear noise from next-door neighbors or people in the hallways. They do have a small business center with post-its, pens, paperclips, and two computers with a printer and fax machine. The suites are pretty new and the rooms are a nice size. All the suites come equipped like it was your own apartment/condo. There is a TV with many channels and the bedroom and living rooms are separated so someone can sleep and others can watch TV without disturbing each other. There is a pool in between this hotel and the Holiday Inn, a half court basketball court in the back and that's about it for the amenities. You get free breakfast...try to make your own waffles!!! The coffee (Wolfgang Puck) isn't half bad either. The beds are on the soft side so for those with sensitive backs, be warned! I found the couch to give more support to the back than the beds. There are many places within a 5 to 10 minute drive from the hotel but not much around the hotel minus a gas station and a pharmacy. To the staff, we're the party that left over half a dozen bottles of booze for your tip ;) read more

I didn't explore the area, but within walking distance is a drug store, gas station, and Taco Bell/kfc. We have always stayed at Candlewood Suites in East Syracuse, but decided to try this instead. Given the cost difference in points, we were expecting to be impressed. Not. Staff from front desk to the morning breakfast team nothing special. Breakfast atmosphere un cheerful and food mediocre. Coffee bitter and tasted burnt. All cereal choices loaded with sugar. The fridge in our two room rattled all the time from noisy compressor. Clock radio emitted soft crackles and crunches intermittently throughout the night. The beds and generous bedside table were very good and the hot shower fantastic. One of the doors between the bedroom and the main room would not close, and the other was very hard to open. Overall, the experience was a disappointment and hardly worth the extra cost. Better value and better sleep at Candlewood Suites in East Syracuse. The included breakfast at Staybridge is vastly inferior to the nearby delicious breakfast places in East Syracuse. read more

There must be a rule about the behavior of groups, usually non-business travelers, who stay at hotels. In this case, I am speaking about groups of young kids staying at the hotel while playing in a softball tournament. What is the rule? Why, the kids have to run up and down the halls most of the night, slamming their doors to add to the noise. Where the chaperones are I have no idea, but I imagine they are watching TV or having drinks while ignoring the kids, maybe using that old idea that "boys will be boys." Not a hypothetical example; this happened at a recent weekend stay on a rewards night free room. I did not call the desk when the racket was going on, but I did speak to the front desk personnel the next morning. They were all over it, and they apologized immensely. In short, they did ther best to solve the problem, and there were no races in the hall the next night. My thanks and kudos to the staff for dealing with the problem. Also they did a great job working on my reservation when the Holiday Inn group web site was not working well. I have found that HI has an OK but not great web site and horrible off-shored customer support - such as not knowing the languge too well. As I always do, I called the local hotel for help, and they delivered. Calling the off-shored help desk, on the other hand, is an exercise in frustration. Holiday In group: you have great hotel employees and clueless customer support. Anyway, end of rant 403. The rest of the stay was fine. The hotel was a very nice one, and the rooms had all we needed. The breakfast was fine, and they did not run out of food even on a busy weekend. I would stay here again. read more

I've stayed here twice, while attending a conference in the quasi-attached Holiday Inn. I really like the Staybridge. I'm not sure exactly why, but it's got a nice style, it's pretty big (I've had a suite with a king bed in one room and two doubles or queens in another, plus the kitchen and living room/sitting area in between -- tons of room!), the breakfast is pretty good, the staff are nice, it shares a pool with the Holiday Inn, etc., etc. I wish had a reason to use the Tesla chargers outside; maybe in a few years. I doubt I'll go back to that particular conference, but if I do, I'll definitely stay here. Great value for the price. read more

Really decent executive suites hotel. Are there things to complain about? Sure. The wifi is slow...but then again, if you go to a hotel with free wifi and expect to be streaming Netflix in HD, it's mostly your expectations that are out of order. The hotel-provided meals are pretty lackluster, but there are plenty of places to stay out there who won't give you so much as a mint on the pillow to eat, much less a hot breakfast and dinner on the house. The Holiday Inn next door has a full-service restaurant if the gratis options aren't floating your boat. The lead here really is what comes with the room: decent size TV, kitchenette, a bed, and friendly and helpful staff. I will say that as somebody with a bad back, the bed that I had woke me up multiple times during the night in pain, but it's usually only one in three hotel beds that don't, so I don't fault the hotel much for that. read more

Nice accommodations and appeared clean. I checked in with several coworkers, and though I'm a platinum member in their rewards program got a small room while some coworkers got three room suites? Also there was some guests who were exceptionally loud at the outdoor area, especially later at night. I didn't even want to go near them, appeared very drunk. We had a 2 bedroom suite for one night that was perfect for the 4 of us. I would paid more to get privacy with my honey after sharing a room in Niagara and Toronto with twin 14 year old boys. There was plenty of space and real doors to keep out nosey kids. All that was missing was a jacuzzi in the room and a lock on the bedroom door. read more

I cannot say a single bad thing about this hotel. I stayed here two nights while attending the NYS Fair. The room was clean and serviced daily. The bed and linens were clean and comfortable. It was easy to find - right off the NYS Thruway Electronics Blvd exit. It was very convenient travelling back and forth to the fair. The indoors pool and warm and clean. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and was always full and fresh. The front desk staff knew of local places to grab a bite to eat/drink. I hope to stay here again. read more

We stay here almost every time we go to Syracuse to visit family. The suites are spacious and clean and well kept. The staff is friendly, professional, and responsive. The breakfast is a very good value. Location is good, close to just about anything you want to get to in that city and neighboring areas. It is also very quiet, have had almost no trouble with noise. Great for an extended stay. The suites are well designed with distinctive workspace, lounging/living room space, bedroom with doors to close it off from the rest of the space. Kitchen is fairly well equipped. Complimentary laundry is fantastic. Fitness room was great too. The only thing subpar at this place was the food. The mashed potato bar was offered one evening. It was unappetizing to see the potatoes being served by squeezing the mash out of a plastic bag. Quality ingredients are not used. If you stay here Wegmans grocery is about a mile away. I planned a girls trip to Syracuse with a few of my cousins and aunts. We stayed at this hotel Wednesday and Thursday night. We chose staybridge because of the room sizes, dinner and breakfast, and gorgeous pool. The two bedroom suite was perfect! We had plenty of room and loved the layout. The complementary dinners and breakfasts were great! We loved the convenience of eating at the hotel. Unfortunately they were having issues with the pump in the pool and we were unable to swim the whole time we were there. It was upsetting for my three year old because the pool is the reason he wanted to come on the trip instead of staying home with his dad. However, they did offer to let us check out later because the pool was about to be fixed. Unfortunately we weren't able to because of our long drive home. Overall- it was a great experience and the staff was very professional and definitely tried to do everything to could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible! Thank you!
