I came here because of my check engine light was on and it came back on about a few days later and I spent over $10,000 later

I have had a P0401 code for EGR insufficient flow for the longest on my 2006 F250 6.0. After countless hours of troubleshooting, back probing wires, ebp sensor and pigtail, vgt solenoid and pigtail, map sensor, subscribing to DIYAllData, and A&E software, I threw in the towel to seek the professionals for help. I texted the shop number, and Bruno responded right away that he would be able to get me in for a diag right away, pending result to schedule for repair. Having 1 week before my registration is due, this was my last shot at getting this repaired properly. Bruno popped in the Ford IDS and was able to identify the issue right away. I gave him the green light to order the parts, and within 2 hours my truck was repaired right then and there. After 10-15 miles of driving off, all my emission monitors completed and I was able to pass smog. The customer service was awesome and these guys were more than happy to share their knowledge on these 6.0. As a DIY'er, I would totally bring my truck in again to Bruno and Eddie for their expertise. read more

Going to give 5 stars because Nelson the mechanic there actually took the time to get under my 2006 f250 and look at the motor and explain the leak to me. I had bought it from a dealer who agreed to split the cost of repairing the leak for me. 5 stars for Nelson who took the time to look and didn't charge me for his opinion. But on the other hand. 2 stars for Bruno. Called him, said he'd have an estimate for the leak by tomorrow, that was 2 days ago now. I texted him, no response and no estimate for the leak. Unfortunately they don't need my business, I saw their shop, super nice place, very busy, so I get it. I took my 4 thousand dollars elsewhere. Bought a used 26' box truck with questionable engine health. After three other shops couldn't accommodate it, Steady Idle stepped-up. I called this guys to have a monitor installed on my truck they said they will order it for and call me when they had the item delivered which they never did, so I purchased it myself so I called them and asked for them to install monitor and a chip. We agreed on a appointment I show up for the appointment they weren't even there. Yes I should of been more skeptical these guys by then but I did not since I already took a day off from work just to get over this small project waited for them to show up to work which doesn't reflect their opening times stated by them. So finally they show up to work and I turn over my truck too them and leave, I call them late afternoon to ask if my truck was ready they said it was I show up and waited an additional 2hrs for them to complete the small job. And too top it off they charged me more then agreed price for the job. So yes I agree with (Hunter G) experienced sounded very similar to my experience with these two so called diesel mechanics. Steady Idle Garage is as legit as they come. I called up Bruno before I dropped off my 6.0 to have him fix a fuel injection issue. He could have taken the truck in and fixed it like any other shop would have. However, Bruno passed on making a decent amount of money and told me how to easily fix it myself for much cheaper. I took the same truck back to Bruno later on showing 4 bad injectors. Bruno didn't believe that my injectors should have gone bad so soon. His honesty and a little diesel detective work found what the real problem was and once again saved me a ton of money. Any other place would have raped me on the new injectors before they figured out that wasn't the issue. My 2004 6.0 is running strong as ever now with no more problems. When I got there they were very welcoming and quickly they directed me to park my truck inside. I got an oil change done. While getting my service done I asked Bruno some of questions related to my 6.0 and he seemed very knowledgeable. My 07 F350 lost power on the freeway. Within the past two years I've had all the recall items replaced and upgraded by another area diesel specialists. And at significant cost. I was expecting the worst, but hoping it was something simple. Eddie (owner) and Bruno found the problem (poor workmanship by the previous mechanics) and gave me my options. The FICM, which had been replaced within the past 8 months, had essentially "popped" off because of a missing bracket. So they offered a quick fix to get me back on the road, or what it would take for a long term fix. I appreciated the honesty so I asked them to go ahead and make it right. While they were at I had them replace the 10 yr old alternator and replace the batteries. Diesel repairs are not cheap, but Steady Idle was fair and didn't stick it to me. I was asked what parts I preferred. This was helpful when considering budget. All the mechanics were busy at work. Everyone was pleasant to talk to. In my opinion these guys are honest and will give you the service you are looking for. I'll recommend Steady Idle to everyone. read more
