Wow is all i can say. A group of severs and i went here for a night milkshake but left in shock after our whole experience. Our server Alexis greated our table with terrible attitude telling us "remember what you ordered because I'm not going to put it in the system in any particular way or splitting it". She did end up splitting the checks but still had attitude for the whole time, crazy when she was working for tips. Anyways, drinks were never refilled, napkins and sliver ware were never brought but whatever. While one of my friends was drinking her milkshake she found a big piece of plastic in the shake. Someone from our table walked up and told the manager but he never came over to fix the situation or apologize. When we walked up to check out, we wanted to speak to the manager to find out what the piece of trash was. Manager Justin came over after Alexis told us the drive thru was more of a priority than us literally finding TRASH in the shake (no exaggeration, she literally told us that). He said he was the one who made the shakes and that the trash seemed to be from the crayon box... he did Comp her meal but didn't really seem apologetic. Kind of scares me if Justin the manager is the one training people on how to makes shakes if he can't even examine the glasses enough to see trash in it. I'm writing this not because i want anything but to warn parents to examine their kids shake due to the fact that it obviously didn't shock him that there was trash in the cup and that others will probably overlook this easy chocking hazard. This one of the worse locations I have ever been to. Twice now I have been sat and then nothing. No one came to our table or spoke to us. Finally someone from another section took care of us. One of those times I was with a pregnant friend. No one should have to wait 10 to 15 minutes to be acknowledged. read more

Here goes! I go to steak n shake often with my stepmom and today was just horrible. There were 2 tables they were so slow. Mt order was wrong and I didn't get my onion rings till were were done with our food. The waitress was more concerned about flirting with the guys in the kitchen than waiting on us. Kim was her name. She never offered us refills,we were brought one napkin and she didn't come back to check on us. But had plenty of time to walk by our table to tlk to the kitchen guys. I'm here at least once a month. The food is usually inconsistent, service is decent, but tonight was the WORST. We were seated quickly, and greeted by our waitress, Marybeth. The food was brought out to us in a timely, but off she went in a rush. I asked for napkins after and she brought the table only 3, then in a hurry she took off. Then when it was time for a refill it took 5 minutes! Either needs better employees or better management. read more

Barely one star. I went there tonight with some coworkers so there was 8 of us total. We SAW the attitudes when we walked in - they didn't want to serve us. Most of us are servers so we get it... "young people who don't tip" however having attitude immediately doesn't help anything. Our server, Alexis started off telling us to "remember what we ordered because she was NOT going to put it in a specific order and she was not splitting checks for us" RUDE. Definitely an unnecessary remark and the entire meal she was rude and made snarky comments like "I don't know if that's your burger I can't touch it..." If she was new we'd understand, because again we're servers ourselves HOWEVER they were not busy. There was 2 total tables and speaking of, we even heard her complaining about her other table's issue FROM the back of the restaurant so I know that table heard it since they were right up front. Piss poor attitudes all around. The worst part - drinking my milkshake I found a HUGE CHUNK OF PLASTIC. My friend went to say something and nothing was done. So as we're leaving, "manager" Justin took forever to come over to address the problem - our server claimed the drive thru takes more precedent than finding a choking hazard.... ha oooooookay. Finally he comes over and tells me "yeah I think it's plastic from a crayon" ...so what the hell is it doing in my milkshake? He doesn't apologize. He doesn't care... Being from the restaurant business all of us would've understood new employees, mistakes or even being understaffed but attitudes and not caring when there's a health issue FROM A "MANAGER" that is NOT acceptable. I wish I could give it less.... my friends like to call this place "wait and shake", I thought they were kidding but nah... we showed up at 9:20 and left at 10:00pm with to-go orders and there were 3 tables in there!!! We only ordered 2 burgers and it took like 40 minutes while they were slow. It's not over though, then when I swiped my card the employee at the register forgot to mention the number I'm typing in is the "tip" not my PIN number..... so I ended up paying 50$ extra because they employee was not doing his job, did not repeat the total, and used the manager card without authorization to make the payment go through. All though I was refunded of the "tip" I gave, we still waited 40 minutes and payed full price for 2 burgers, absolutely horrendous experience, save yourself and your time. read more

It took about 10 minutes to be seated and almost 40 to get our food. On a Saturday afternoon they only had 2 servers working and no bus boys so the place was pretty dirty. Tables around us stayed dirty & with food on then until another waitress finally came in. The floors were super sticky. The fries were a bit stale. This is one of the best burger joints in town! You can get good food for barely any thing!

We live nearby and have been to other Steak 'n Shakes and enjoyed them. Our last visit to this Acworth location only happened because my husband wanted to try a Prime steak burger. He has been unhappy with many earlier visits where orders were incorrect and oddly bad shakes...icy and not smooth. So I ordered for a pick-up at the drive-thru and ordered the Prime for my husband but with no tomatoes. I ordered 2 of the sliders...I like spicy so I asked for the Chipotle and the Cajun (I think that is what I asked for...whatever were the 2 spiciest). I was asked if I wanted cheese and I said no and then if I wanted ketchup and I said yes. Got home: the Prime steakburger was not 1 large patty, it was 2 singles stacked. That is not what was advertised. My 2 sliders were completely plain......except for the ketchup, Meat, ketchup, bun. And the milkshake? Icy and not good. Done with giving them chances. read more

This place has really went downhill the last couple of years. You have to wait at the front for a while before anyone will actually take the time to greet/seat you. Then, the even longer wait begins for a waiter to come by your table. If your lucky to have made it this far, you will be surprised by whatever you get because it likely will not be what you ordered. read more

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. When we got in, they seated us, but we waited at the table for 20 minutes before anyone asked us for our drink orders. Then, it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if they were slammed, but we were the only ones who needed food still (except for the couple that was seated but wasn't approached at all, so they got pissed and ordered their food at the to-go counter). When they brought out our food, all three meals were incorrect, and it took an additional 10 minutes to get it fixed. After our food came out correctly, we were not checked on again. It was ridiculous, and I definitely urge you to go to the one on Barrett Pkwy instead. read more

Absolutely terrible kitchen staff, 50+ mins and we still don't have our food. We ask the waitress and when she comes back we get told "oh, your order is next to be put together." If you're hungry and want good food that that doesn't take an hour to get it, I recommend any place around here that isn't steak and shake. So me and my girlfriend decided to come in and get some food. There were four people in the restaurant sitting down and drinking there milkshakes. Why is this important? Because the young extremely rude waitress told me and my girlfriend told us "ya were not serving anyone right now our cook is unloading the truck so you have to leave". I asked how come those four people are allowed to order food and we can't? I even told her we can get it to go but she said "no sir they've been here for an hour." Which was obviously a lie cuz I saw the two guys looking at her like wtf? We just got here? Then I ask her how come the cook is unloading the truck? Because usually (and I've worked and owned many different restaurants and know that the driver is supposed to unload the truck then the cook puts it away. He can still make food but just has to unload product when he's doing it) she then got loud and said "sir you cannot eat here. Stop being an ass whole." She literally called a customer whose been coming to this place for 10 years. I coach soccer just a quarter mile down the road and after every Friday I would take the kids to get burgers and milkshakes here. So I'm a very very good customer. I explained to her that I've been coming here for a long time and you shouldn't talk to your customers like that. She then said "I'll talk how the F#*% I want to who I want A#% whole." I swear if that was a man I don't know what would have happened or what I would have done. I was so mad I forgot her name. I think it's Angela or Angelica or something like that. I know it starts with an A. She's a small Hispanic female and is the rudest person I've ever met. I've never been spoken to like that at a restaurant. Soif a manager ever reads this please try and do something about it. She called me all that and was rude when really all I wanted to do was give your company my money for food. read more

When my husband and I walked into steak 'N Shake, we stood there for about 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were standing there. We noticed three employees were conversing and laughing with each other. Also, there were plenty more of tables they were all messed up from parties before us. I asked for a booth, but my waitress didn't offer to clean one off, so she sat us in a table for two in the middle of a lot of people going by. I ordered 2 fresco shooters with fries topped with cheese. When she brought the order out I had the shooters and fries (with no cheese) on a small plate, but she also brought another fry with no cheese and said I had ordered and extra fry. She went and got cheese on that other fry that I did not order. Also, the burgers could not have been fresco; all they were was 2 small, dry burgers with a little mustard on them (that was all)! I think the cooks got lazy. The shakes were excellent, or I would have rated a one. read more
