This place needs new waiters. No matter when you're there, or how many tables are empty, you feel like your waiter has about 50 other tables. The food is greasy. The skinny french fries are yummy, but that's about it. The chili is ALL beans, the baked beans aren't that great, the apples & grapes side tastes like water, or lettuce, or something equally tasteless. As far as the burgers go, they're good, just REALLY greasy. The chicken fingers are okay, not the best, but definitely not the worst I've had. The honey mustard is good, if the right person makes it. Milkshakes are good. But, they're milkshakes. How do you mess that up? Prices are ok if you order off of the regular menu, however recently they added a smaller meal for under 4 bucks. First off Patricia was an absolute great waitress. She was very welcoming and attentive. The food isn't all that great I saw reviews bout their steaks so I was a little afraid to even order any. I just had a taco salad with chicken (lettuce was kind of stale.) My girl had chili 3 ways (she claimed it had way too much beans then actual chili itself) & we shared a side of chili cheese fries. Never again! This place is absolutely horrible! I've been to numerous locations around the southeast and my experiences have always been decent. This place, however, ruins it for the chain altogether! First off, I ordered a #4 combo (comes with double patties, cheese, and bacon). I received a double cheeseburger... patties, cheese, and a bun. I asked about the side items that could be purchased in place of the fries, and the cashier was clueless. I plainly stated I don't want fries and asked for the other options. Her response? "We have fries, different flavors." Ummm... didn't I just say I don't want fries??! Then, she mentions onion rings. Okay... what other options??? She was still clueless. We get all the way back home (Phenix City), and this is when I realize the order is wrong. The side salad that I'd requested in place of the fries was completely missing, and yeah, I had a double cheeseburger. It's hot as hell, by the way! Nonetheless, my husband and I get back in the car and take the food back. They get the burger right this time, but the patties are lukewarm; so lukewarm that the cheese won't even melt, and I still don't get my side item. Just a lukewarm burger and a drink. My husband's order was fine, minus the fact that he asked for it to have everything on it. We will definitely not be coming back! I just can't bring myself to eat here anymore. The food is typical drive through quality but it is certainly not worth a 25 minute wait in the drive through. The problem with this location is that it is managed and staffed by children. After waiting 25 minutes I went inside to ask for my money back and there were only young kids operating the restaurant. Why are you using yelp to look up a Steak and Shake? This is a typical S&S... you wait forever, the staff is unable to do things like math, the food rarely presents like the menu, and the idea of flavor hasn't reached the kitchen. This Steak and Shake takes this to a whole new low. I guess when you order something on the menu, that is translated to "I'll bring you whatever I want". And when it shows up incorrectly, you are the one that screwed up, not the server. In the end, you get what you pay for. This place is dirt cheap. It's not the best place for burgers, I would say Wendys is above this place. My food was good, I had a Bacon Cheesburger but for $8 something its a little overpriced. The fries are small kid sized fries and super thin. The burger patties are thin also it has some flavor but I don't know. There are better burger places like Red Robin but these are around $4 but it's ok. Not a fan of this place so we may not come back. It was a good first time visit but I don't feel like anything here is worth coming back to. Try it our for your self but don't be expecting much. This establishment is open 24 hrs but I highly recommend to stay within normal business. Usually on the rare occasions I visit the food is fine. Expecting the same quality for a late night trip was the opposite. The lack of care and concern for quality control was deplorable. I was thrown a cold Frisco Melt that had unmelted cheese. A melt that wasn't melted?!?!? The melt was cold! completely cold! The drive thru doesn't mean it's easier to let these things slide. Food safety should be paramount no matter the hours of operation. Hello, I went to stake and shake last night 5/31/2014 and I was beyond disappointed. I would like to say first my coworkers and I visit stake and shake on a regular bases and after I tell them what I seen I doubt they will ever go there again. I work at sprint on Bradley park so it is very convent for us to travel there during our lunch break. First off I order my food and was just waiting at the window for it to be made. I have worked in the kitchen before and know how sanitation should be handled. So decided too look in the window to see how they worked. First I saw an employee grab a trash can with his gloves on to empty out the old fries. No problem there I thought he would take off the old gloves and wash his hands before switching to making the food. NO he not only grabbed the fry scoop with dirty glove hands he then scooped them up to fill the orders. He over filled the fry cup and fries spilled everywhere he took the spilled fries and put them back in the fry bucket. I am not one to write bad reviews and complain but I just had to this time. I couldn't believe what I seen. It only makes me wonder what else these employees do.
