Ordered a butter burger with no onions,and the first time it came out as a completely different burger with onions,when I sent it back. The second time I again ordered a butter burger with no onions! This one sat in the window for over 20 minutes getting cold.when it got to me it was like cold and the fries were not even edible.sent it back again. The third butter burger was now asked for, now mind you there was only four tables an now the manager stayed he was going to bag up the order ab comp it due to the long wait am all the issues I said thanks but I would like to stay an eat my lunch with my husband seeing we came in to have lunch together. So the manager takes the order out of the to go bag an placeses or on a tray an brings it to the table. Upon looking at the burger it was a butter burger but was covered in onions which I am allergic to so I got up an was very fustrares to see how there was no accountability by the Manager or the cooking stafd. You guys are going to really hurt someone if you continue this laziness not checking things you serve to people it's only a matter of time before you get sued. While charging our Tesla in the Target parking lot. We walked over to Steak 'n Shake for a quick lunch. We were greeted by a sweet server and sat with menus (the booth chairs are very bad and need to be fixed) but it was very clean restaurant. We ordered the original and the butter burger. We both really enjoyed it. It was hot and fresh right off the grill. The french fries were hot too which is always a plus for us. We were also fine with no condiments on the table. This is a phenomenal Steak 'n Shake location! By far the best I have ever been to. The male employee on the drive-thru intercom was so friendly! He made ordering very easy. When I got to the window, the drink and shake for my order were already ready, which was very surprising and fast considering I was the only car in the drive-thru. It only took about 2 more minutes for my order to be ready. All of the employees were social distancing and wearing masks, which made me feel safe about my food. My only problem is that one of the 4 sandwiches in my bag was missing. Luckily, I checked and I just went through the drive thru again and they quickly apologized and had it ready. As always, the food was amazing. I will never stop loving their Frisco Sauce. I always get the Frisco Melt, and they were still doing the free fries promotion. One free small order of fries for every person in your car at the drive thru upon request. Overall, this is an amazingly speedy Steak 'n Shake, and I really hope that it never closes. read more

The Bad: 3 out of 3 orders came out wrong. One order had the wrong side. All 3 burgers were wrong. One had bacon and the person doesn't eat pork. We had to wait for her burger to be remade. Asked for the manager who was super nice and very apologetic. We asked for our shakes in glasses. They came out in to go cups. Manager said they have shortage of glasses in the place. Because the cups were Styrofoam Hannah didn't know which shake belonged to what guest. Pro tip: label the cups. The restaurant was not busy. I understand that food service is hard but damn there were like 3 tables seated so no reason for the mix ups. Plus our shakes came out after we got our food. Do better Steak N Shake! The ugly: 3 out of 3 orders wrong and not one thing was comped. It's pretty cheap and of course we all expected to pay but we just thought that it was in poor taste for the manager to not even offer to cover our half-priced shakes. Seriously $2 per person! I am a big fan of Steak N Shake but going to this location was a mistake. I do wonder if I'd gone and eaten in the restaurant if the food would have been better. I ordered a western burger, fries and a peppermint chocolate chip milkshake. Half the onions on the burger weren't cooked, the cheese wasn't melted, the burger was lukewarm and the bbq sauce was missing. I ordered and got my food in under two minutes which was just odd considering I ordered a milkshake. Fries were lukewarm as well. Milkshake seemed to be very unsized compared to previous milkshakes ordered at Steak N Shake. Apparently they aren't bothering to cook their food correctly and then are sitting it under a heat lamp to shove in a bag and give you at the drive thru. Gross. Don't bother eating here. I've eaten here many times since I live just down the street and it's always been pretty hit or miss over the years. The wait time is sometimes nothing and sometimes it's very long. The food is usually good but recently I placed a to go order and got a side salad. There was a bug in the salad container. First off, there were around 10 servers last night and maybe 4 tables had customers - all who had food. My group (3 people) and another group (5 people) were seated and after 15 minutes no one even got our drink orders. All of the servers were just standing in the corner talking. After 15 minutes a group comes in with a service dog and this ding-dong server is all "oooh I like your dog!" and seats this group and immediately takes their order. It was brought to their attention that someone was in the drive-through, banging on the window, and they thought it was funny.. the cooks were the only people doing anything. I went to this S&S location in May because it was a freebie. The place was clean enough but it's the usual Burger Grease Pit. They call it "Steak and Shake" but there's not a decent cut of beef in the entire place. Nothing out of the ordinary at this S&S compared to other Burger grease Pits. This establishment is open 24 hrs but I highly recommend to stay within normal business. Usually on the rare occasions I visit the food is fine. Expecting the same quality for a late night trip was the opposite. The lack of care and concern for quality control was deplorable. I was thrown a cold Frisco Melt that had unmelted cheese. A melt that wasn't melted?!?!? The melt was cold! completely cold! The drive thru doesn't mean it's easier to let these things slide. Food safety should be paramount no matter the hours of operation. But nobody working here has any form of pride in what they do anyway so why should hey serve quality food especially at midnight on a holiday weekend.
