Horrible service, inaccurate food delivery. The facility was nasty dirty. It looked like the floors hadn't been mopped in week and the table had dried up food on them. It is obvious that the people who work here do not seem to have pride in their workplace. read more

Poorly managed. No one working drive they window apparently. Several cars lined up. I guess they are understaffed at noon.

Usually our favorite hamburger establishment but this location people are horrible. Walk it place is 3/4 empty. First person with a mop says I'll be right with you then continues mopping the floor. When realize she has no interest in taking us to a table/booth we just walk through only to find not one table has been cleaned. This place should be inspected by the health department and then fire everyone and start over. Not surprised at the one star ratings. After waiting over 1/2 hour for hamburgers and fries cxld order and left. No wonder the place was empty read more

We got in to Ft. Myers on a late flight...as such, our selections for dinner were rather limited. This was nearby so we decided to go here. What a horrible decision. The service was absolutely terrible. I wish I could say the food was of decent quality, but it was not. They got our order wrong and my steakburger was smaller than I have ever gotten at a Steak and Shake (maybe they serve larger patties up in Ohio?). To top all this off, we stood and waited for five minutes at the checkout before anyone acknowledged us. I finally stared down one waitress who was shooting the breeze by the fountain with her coworkers, and she reluctantly came over and rang us out. You could tell she wasn't happy about it, though, because she hardly said a word. They show happy workers and customers on their placemats, and speak of their history of quality food/milkshakes and commitment to customer service. Maybe they are speaking of the 1930s, because all of the above are horribly lacking as of May 2015. I will not be returning to Steak n Shake ever again. read more

I used to work late nights, and this was one of three 24-hour restaurants that my co-workers would sometime grab a bite to eat at, after work. The food is cheap (obviously), the service is awful (poverty wages don't exactly motivate people to perform!) and the atmosphere (derelicts hanging out on the sidewalk, and people having little bathroom parties) are not exactly what I look for in even an inexpensive restaurant experience. Advice- You guys are corporate! Exercise your resources and give this place an internal makeover. There is a lot of late-night business out there in Fort Myers, and I know that plenty of people in the area that would like somewhere reliable, safe, and halfway decent for some midnight fast food. read more

It took 24 minutes to get 2 burgers. No drinks or anything. Garbage staff. I paid at the window and was demanded to move forwarded, against another truck that was roughly 10ft in front me which didn't serve them a single purpose. It shouldn't take this long to get food in a drive thru. Ridiculous. read more

Ordered at the kiosk with no problem. When I went to get my food, I was told that they were out of cheese sauce. I asked for a refund since I paid extra for the cheese sauce. I was told no and offered other sauces. There was no notice on the kiosk that they were out of cheese sauce. I asked the manager for a refund, he told me no, and walked into the kitchen. I took my cousin from Indiana to this steak and shake. We had a booth and sat awhile before we had our drink orders and food orders taken. When our food came which was nice but the waitress almost threw the food at us then she runs away. We called her back as did not give us a fork spoon or knife. There were 2 of us and when she came back she only brought one set. Then she did not ask us how our food was and just threw things on the table and walked away. We left her a tip but dont know why. Not friendly at all. We told the manger and she just said sorry. Im not going back there. This young girl needs some training on how to treat people.there are some young ones, not all that just should not have a serves job and deal with people. When you bring someone something to drink you don't just throw it and run. She acted like she was afraid to be asked to do something. read more

This is a good establishment with great food. The service sucks and servers we're rude and started yelling. This is the third time we have came here. ESTO NO PUEDE SER!! I don't consider going to this place if I want something like 5 guys. I consider going to this place if I want a McDonald's experience where you get served. Probably the closest type of experience that is the most similar is maybe a Friendly's or a Denny's. The breakfast is great and the dinners are ok. This is the place you want to come to for value. My wife and I pigged out with 3 entrees and dessert (a shake for each) and with tip and all was about $30. The best part is breakfast though, I must admit. The bad part of the place is that the meats aren't the best quality and the fries depending on your taste - they are the stringy fries, not very thick. I like fries I can use to dip stuff in and these skinny fries just don't do it for me too much. And speaking of which, they have a really good hot sauce at the table. Oh and a warning... If you get a "skillet" buyer beware, it's not really a skillet. It's a bowl shaped like one. I'm not sure they can legally get away with this, but it's still good so what can I say. Breakfast is really when this place shines. The shakes were good too BTW. The service was lackluster but not bad. One thing I do notice is that every time I go, they put the stupid check on my table when they come over with the entrees. I think it is a policy because I've seen two separate waitresses do it. I hate it. Give me the bill once I decide whether or not I want dessert (or with how cheap everything is, something else to eat)! Makes me feel rushed. Good clean location too. I went here least night with my mom at around 12 am. We are not from here and travelled here through numerous flights and were exhausted. It was absolutely awful. The floors were sticky, the staff were literally screaming and cursing at each other. Our waitress gave us an update on how the cook didn't feel like making our order, and she got her manager to do it herself. By this time we were fed up, left, and went to 7/11 for snacks. the WORST fast food i've ever been to...I went inside to order my food to-go, and was there for a total of 30 minutes with the place almost empty. The "shift manager" was extremely unprofessional. We just had a very unpleasant lunch at this Steak n Shake. Service was slow and poor. When I complained about at the counter when paying bill the waitress mouthed off that it wasn't her problem and she didn't want to hear about it. So the so-called manager came up to see what the problem was and she allowed the waitress to continue to yell at us. Then the manager said she was so sorry and smiled. Walked in the door and you can hear the two workers yelling at each other. The one near the cash register yells at me and says they are only doing to go orders even though people are at the tables. Throughout my time in the restaurant the two female employees are yelling and arguing with each other. Shocked at the lack of service this location has for its customers. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take my order and left for another location off Cleveland. This location really needs some leadership on 3rd shift. This place is a Jerry Springer episode masquerading as a restaurant. Infighting amongst the employees. Management that holds grudges based on past romantic happenings between employees and relatives of management. Management and employees lying about each other and putting the customer in an awkward position because they involve the customer in their feuds. Absolutely the worst steak and shake i have ever been to. There were a total of 5 workers at this location when i walked in. There were a total of three customers. Only one person was actually working (the cook). The rest were in and out of the back walking around aimlessly. It took 15 minutes for them to acknowledge me and then stated they didn't have my online order. Not that the online order wasn't ready (as it said it would be) but that it wasn't even in there system. We tried to cancel the order with the app and could t get it to cancel which probably means they just have no clue what they are doing. Stopped by to grab a quick bite from the drive-thru... nothing quick about it. With just two cars ahead of me, it took 45 minutes from start to end. Once I got to the window, I was told my order was never rung in (wtf), so that accounted for 15 of those minutes as they threw it together. Do not waste your time or money. We waited approximately 45 minutes to get the shakes we ordered, and after about 1 hour and 40 minutes, our food was still not delivered. I took my Granddaughter into the restroom, and there was NO soap in our stall, one with a changing table. The restrooms were filthy! I decided to just pay for the shakes and leave, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. A nice young waiter, Brandon, tried to help us figure out how to pay. He was professional and polite. I will not name the waitress or manager because I really don't want to hurt anyone. But both of them were very unprofessional and never once apologized, just kept blaming the grill. Any restaurant looking for an amazing employee, stop in and hire, Brandon! We paid for our shakes, and our order for food wasn't even near being ready after 1 hour and 45 minutes! The manager just said, the drive up was really busy. Numerous parties were seated, ate and paid while we waited. Went to this location around 7:30 PM. No one was in line at the drive though, and the inside was maybe half full. We couldn't get anyone to take our order at the drive through, they just kept asking us to wait. We waited in line for about 6 minutes and then left. This would be understandable if they were busy but they clearly weren't. I would give this review zero stars sense my family and I received zero food but... ps. Im so upset. I have never been treated like such crap. I called to talk to the manager after the incident and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I called back again and the manager HERSELF put me on hold again for 5 minutes. I hung up and called back again and asked for their store number, the manager answered and hung up on me! The wouldn't answer the phone. Be a manager and deal with your stores problems, don't run away and avoid them. I can not believe the way I was treated. I have been a customer for years, but I won't be a customer anymore and will pass my story along on my social media. read more
