I was meeting old friends at Hurricanes. They winter in FL and suggested we meet there. We arrived just as they were opening. The place is pretty good sized with an outdoor patio that's big as well. We were seated inside immediately. The server was friendly but not around much. The first thing that caught my eye was the Calypso salad. One friend ordered the chicken quesadilla, another the hamburger sliders with fries. It took awhile for the food to arrive, probably because the kitchen was gearing up for the day. I was impressed with the salad - chicken, shrimp, on a bed of delicious rice. I usually don't finish my whole meal, but I did with this salad. The sliders were big, the fries plentiful and the quesadilla was big with lots of chicken. I like this place. I'll go back. read more

Our server Corinthia was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of. You could really tell she cared about making sure we had a great experience. And the food was delicious! Huge free standing building with a large covered patio boasting a bar and several monitors to watch sporting events. The interior dining room had an additional bar and surf boards as tables. We ordered the $1.00 wing special with two flavors - Jamaican Spice and Garlic Ginger. Got two local craft draft beers to complement the wings. It was not busy and took twenty minutes for the wings but was served the beers immediately. The 80s rock music was excellent and customers can choose a song from the wall mounted digital juke box at only $1.00 for two songs. The dry rub Jamaican wings were too dry and not enough jerk kick for my taste but loved the garlic ginger with a big tray of french fries. I'm new to the area and decided to try a new restaurant, Hurricanes, and I'm so glad I did! Our server, Zoey, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. Great service can completely change your experience at a restaurant, and Zoey definitely went above and beyond. She made us feel right at home and gave me a great first impression of Hurricanes. Pros: Honestly it was amazing! With the half price apps, the nachos being huge, and the waiting staff being lovely all together it was a good experience! Cons: The music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think or my partner talk (while talking very loud). But hey! It might be your vibe! A Fun Place, Great Food and A Patio We have passed this place many times and finally stopped in - glad we did. We were promptly seated outside on the covered patio as we requested. This is one large patio that can accommodate many people with a good size bar to sit at. The patio does overlook busy Pine Island Road and road noise is present, especially by those drivers who like to rev their motors knowing there's a crowd there to impress, but it's very tolerable. Not unlike most late afternoons in this region, it was hot, but the numerous fans and open sides moved the air making it very comfortable. We arrived about 5:00 and our server told us about their Happy Hour which has dollar off some tap beers and maybe some mixed drink specials that ends at 6:00. Our server made sure I could get in another beer order before HH ended and I appreciated that. I opted for Yuengling Draft for $3.50. My wife chose Unsweetened Iced Tea $2.99. Their food menu is quite extensive, sure to please anyone. We found a Specials card on our table and ordered from that. (Not sure if these were daily, weekly, or seasonal specials.) My wife ordered the Seafood Rice Bowl ($15.99) and I ordered the One Pound Peel and Eat Shrimp ($18.99). The Rice Bowl was a winner! She ordered it as grilled, so sitting atop a bed of seasoned rice were 3 or 4 large shrimp, several Mahi Mahi nuggets, onions and peppers, all grilled with Cajun seasoning. Just a little heat, not too spicy. Both the shrimp and fish were perfectly cooked. I can't recall if I could get my shrimp warm or cold, but mine were cold and that was fine with me. This was a very generous pound of 20 shrimp that I've ever had. These were multi-biters that had been steamed and chilled. No soggy shrimp here. They were seasoned with Old Bay, served with lemon and cocktail sauce. The cocktail sauce had the right amount of horseradish with a surprise ingredient - chopped cilantro. It added a unique pop of flavor that I really enjoyed. I could have easily had the 1/2 pound order as the full pound was a bit too much for one person. Totally shareable by several people. And to top off the experience, there was a gentleman on the patio doing a nice job of singing popular songs. A lot more seating inside and another bar. We had a great time and will return, especially for the shrimp! read more

Great late night place for food and drinks! Not bad for a casual hang out night. Service is good and the bar is good.

Wings are judged on 3 categories. Size, Sauciness, and Crunch. SIZE- The wings are truly jumbo here. At the national chains I can eat 15-20 wings no problem, often times the meat on one wing isn't even a full bite. At Hurricane, 10 wings have more meat and weight than 20 wings at the other places. I was very impressed, and for the money you cant get a better wing deal anywhere. 5/5 value and size. SAUCINESS - With dozens (maybe 30 or more) sauces to choose from, you have plenty of options. I agree with the other reviews that the extra hot isn't really too hot, but this is Cape Coral where the average age is 94 years old....I'm never fully satisfied with any spiciness levels. That being said, the Gridiron style wings are something special. The amount of flavor provided by caramelizing the wings, presumably on the flattop, cannot be missed. If you need your wings drowning in overpowered sauce, you either don't like wings or the chicken doesn't taste good on its own merit and need a disguise. Sauciness 4.5/5 CRUNCH - One of the best parts about having some big ole wings is you can get the crunch and not overcook the whole wing. A thick crunchy outside layer with some juicy tender chicken inside...its the best of both worlds. Crunch 5/5 Try the gridiron wings, I can't imagine eating other wings now...they're absolute crack and I will be here anytime a football game is being played. read more

Ended up here because the place I wanted to go was closed. It was a bit late, around 11:00 pm. The place sounded like a 2008 night club. The wings themselves were fine. Average size and nice and crispy. The sauces were not good and they don't have anything that's even remotely hot. The service was good though, despite how loud an busy it was. Seemed like it'd be an ok place to hang out and drink with friends or watch a game or something, but if the main goal is a decent meal, I'd avoid this place. read more

The menu is full of excellent options, it was hard to choose! The prices are also super reasonable compared to similar type restaurants. I decided on the Grilled chicken Cuban wrap with fries. It was delicious! Everyone else in our group enjoyed their meal as well! They have a full bar which I would likely try out one evening.
