Looked around the area to try and find a Steak n Shake - sure enough, found one. We live out west and there are none in our area, but we love their food. First thing we noticed - no more table service. Wow - order from a kiosk and pick up at the counter. We missed the old table service - not sure how this is going to go. Chili Mac - great as usual ! Burger - great as usual ! It wasn't busy, at all, but it was early, only 5:00pm. We were concerned - some locations have closed - good news, this one seems to be fine. Hope this new format catches on ! Great food !

Came through the drive-through for a late night snack of a shake. The employees were super nice. Lots of options for shakes here. You can get a regular shake or a supreme shake with things like Butterfinger Oreo and cookies and cream. When I got to the payment window I saw that I had my pup in the car and they offered a cup of whip cream for her. She was delighted.

     a single use hand sanitizer

Royal Burger was just as good as I've ever had back home. It's a new world at Steak N' Shake. Gone are servers. Now ordering is via kiosk. I'm fine with it. I think it probably streamlined things, speeds up orders, and make for more accurate orders. Some people might not like that. But the owner is up front to greet you, and introduce you to the new ordering procedures. Customers that miss the servers, keep in mind the new system means your order is submitted as soon as you pay. Any delays in ordering is on you now. I doubt you will ever visit another SnS that is faster than this one. Typically SnS is slow, but worth it because of the made to order meals. Hopefully the new changes will occur at all locations, and maybe then closed locations will reopen again. I lost all the locations near me. Have to drive an hour away to find one now. As for the pandemic, they are dine in. They have sanitizer hand wipes both by the condiments and drinks counter, as well as in the bathrooms. Very clean location.

I do love steak and shake. It's a good meal on a tight budget. The milkshakes cannot be beat. As a chain they deserve 3 to 4 stars. This one in Georgetown ky needs a little help. The food was good but very slow on help and the milkshake was just ice cream, no milk. I really feel sorry for some of the staff because they were really short handed. We got our shakes when we were waiting for the check. Will go back, it should get better next time. Keep the faith.

    yum instant coffee

I used to love steak and shake but it's more like steak and shame now. They used to have Mac and cheese kids meals, gone. They had garlic parmesan fries, still kinda there but the seasoning is in a sticky shaker that everyone in Georgetown has probably touched. For the cups the guy dropped them in the floor and then just sat them back up on the counter. There was literally dirt and mud on them?? As for the coffee they were clearly serving an instant coffee and had a single use milk like the kind you would get with a school lunch just sitting there out of temperature with just an open bag of sugar?? Who wants that?? It's just so sad. We were literally the only people there and it was dead. I won't ever be coming back. :(

We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.

Rodney's is a genteel bar/eatery in a restored house with an upmarket seafood & steak menu, plus outdoor seating. For our opening course, we tried the Sea Divers Scallops. These were tandoori-rubbed and served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The scallops had a good sear and a slight crunch, with the tandoori rub offering a mild, earthy kick and a hint of chili powder flavor. The scallop was light and melted in your mouth. The Thai chili sauce added a sweet heat combo that complemented the scallops perfectly. We then shared the Lobster Bisque, which our server recommended. The bisque was very creamy, with a slightly thicker, velvety texture than typical bisques. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like it had cheese in it, which it did not. It had a salty, slightly paprika-spiced flavor, while the sherry added a slight nutty note. This was an excellent dish and worth the drive itself. For my main course, I ordered the Lamb Chops. They were char-grilled with roasted garlic mint demi-glace and the Potato de jur, which is smoked Gouda au gratin. My lamb was spot-on medium-rare; however, the char was a little hard and bitter, especially on the edges. This was present in most bites. The mint sauce added a touch of sweetness and depth to the meat's flavor. The potatoes were cooked through and offered a slight chew. The Gouda was creamy and nutty, pairing well with the potatoes, though it needed a bit more seasoning. My wife chose the Filet for her main course. She ordered it medium rare with Weisenberger white cheddar grits and green peppercorn cream sauce. Her grits were cooked well and not overdone; the cheddar was only topped on the dish and not melted into it, but it did offer a sharp bite. We both found them to be bland and in need of seasoning. The peppercorn sauce was creamy, with the onions adding texture, crunch, and a slight sweetness, while the peppercorns popped with flavor and mild heat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare; it melted in your mouth. However, the hard char on the edges added a heavy, bitter flavor to most bites. Rodney's menu features appetizers, soups, salads, prime beef selections, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. They offer a full bar with beer and soda selections. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will offer suggestions and advice. The Fat Man says that Rodney's on Broadway is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

After leaving yet another distillery, the ladies in our group wanted to head to Georgetown for some shopping. But before the shopping could begin, we needed lunch. We had stopped at Fava's a few weeks earlier with another group of friends for breakfast, and it was excellent. With that great experience in mind, we decided to try Fava's again, this time for lunch. The décor is classic Old Town Kentucky--exactly the kind of place that brings back childhood memories of small-town restaurants. Charming, comfortable, and familiar. We seated ourselves and looked over the menu. I went with the chili cheese hot dog with fries. My wife and one of our friends chose the open-faced Reuben, and the last member of our group ordered the club sandwich. Every dish was excellent. The club sandwich was so large it required a to-go box. Before leaving, everyone except me ordered pie to go-- Fava's pies are legendary, at least to my wife and me. I skipped dessert this time and immediately regretted missing their ice cream options. We dropped the pies off in the car (it was cold enough outside to keep them safe), and then the ladies headed off to explore the shops of Georgetown. And I cannot leave out the wait staff, very attentive and friendly . This was my second visit to Fava's, and both times have been outstanding. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can enjoy their food again--and this time, I won't miss out on the ice cream.

Let me say to come hungry because the portions are large but yummy. The sprouts are a meal all by themselves! But there's more! I had the porcini rubbed filet and Teresa had the cabbage confit. Both portions were sizable and while I know she loved her cabbage, I was in heaven with a perfectly prepared filet that just melted in my mouth. Plus the asparagus spears and the Okinawa sweet potato mash were perfect accompaniment! Sadly, there was so much goodness we ended up bringing some home and we'll have to come back for dessert and another menu sampling. All in all a very memorable experience and a great place for a birthday dinner! But we'll be back just because! Special closing shout out to Michaela for taking such great care of us.
