    Soft opening day... 7/27/18.
    Heather P.

I really wanted to love it here. I'd followed them on Facebook even before their opening and it seems like they are all a cool group of folks. I don't dispute that, but I have to keep it real and report, the food sucks. You must have to be tipsy to enjoy it. Harsh? Maybe. I'm just trying to tell the truth, folks. Believe the "bar" part of their name and don't think it's more of a grill. I guess I followed and believed their FB food posts. I can't comment on their bar amusement, so I won't ding them too much on the stars. They have a couple of pool tables and a stage, so the nightlife might be where it's at. The day I was there they were charging a $5 per person cover fee. I don't know if that's the norm or what, but that made it all the more disappointing when the food was less than mediocre. When I walked in, I sat at a table but no one ever came to wait on on us, so I moved up to the bar. We both ordered waters and was a bit surprised when someone from behind the bar said "nothing is good here". Uh, that was strange. But ended up ringing true. We should've took his word and just chalked up the entry fee as a loss. Now for the food... I ordered the loaded cheese fries and when they arrived, I was almost surprised that they were a bit small for the $8.99 price tag. But I didn't end up eating them all in the long run. The fries were soft and could've used a minute or two longer in the frier. The cheese and bacon bits were ok, so I ended up eating the ones from the top. My dining mate ordered the loaded nachos and at first glance we were both impressed. We both liked the homemade chips, but the serving of pork was fatty and bland. They too were not worth the $8.99 price tag. I do hope that my experience was a fluke, but I can't say they're the best option in Georgetown. I also don't think I'll go back.

It's new to Georgetown. About 1.5 months old. Went there for lunch. They had plenty of tv's to watch the game. A goo menu for a bar. Had the pretzels and beer cheese and they were awesome. Also had the hamburger and wife had the quesadilla and they both were great. Not to bad for first time. Also had 2 mixed drinks. They have a full stocked. Also the waitress was spot on, her name was Mary. Please ask for her

Awesome atmosphere. The staff is helpful and personable. We had the bourbon sriracha wings, quesadilla, and fresh pork rinds. The drinks were really good as well. Great dive bar to check out in Georgetown.

We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.

The chicken breast itself was exceptionally large, tender, and juicy perfectly fried the Nashville sauce on it was hot, but not too hot you know what I mean and the coleslaw wasn't runny and have too much mayonnaise. It was just a really good solid cold coleslaw. The brioche bun was excellent. My wife's Cuban sandwich was amazing and my mother-in-law's hamburger was very good as well. The only thing I will say is that the service from the young man that we had was just average. It took us a lot of effort, joking around with him, asking his suggestions and recommendations to get him to even smile I would suggest that he acts like he wants to be working and not come across to his customers like we're a bother to him. If that wouldn't have been the case, this would've been a 5+ star review.

There was no parking in their parking lot, so we had to drive down the hill and try our luck with street parking, then walk back up about 5-7 minutes to get into the restaurant. A bit of a pain, especially since the restaurant was only about 50% full. The host or person at the front desk was hiding - sitting on the floor on his phone. We had to lean over the counter to ask him to get up so we could ask him to seat us. He ended up being our server as well, after he literally argued with a coworker who walked up while we were inquiring about a table. "I just took the last two damn tables, isn't it your turn?" doesn't inspire confidence that you're a welcome guest. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown. When in Rome, right? The menu says you can get it with Mornay sauce or Kentucky Hot Brown sauce. I asked the waiter which was better - he said the Hot Brown sauce. Sounds great! It came out with the mornay sauce. It was still good, but I was a wee bit disappointed. My companions enjoyed their meals. I picked up a reasonably priced bottle of Sazerac Rye on the way out, since they didn't have any left at the distillery when I was there earlier in the visit.

After leaving yet another distillery, the ladies in our group wanted to head to Georgetown for some shopping. But before the shopping could begin, we needed lunch. We had stopped at Fava's a few weeks earlier with another group of friends for breakfast, and it was excellent. With that great experience in mind, we decided to try Fava's again, this time for lunch. The décor is classic Old Town Kentucky--exactly the kind of place that brings back childhood memories of small-town restaurants. Charming, comfortable, and familiar. We seated ourselves and looked over the menu. I went with the chili cheese hot dog with fries. My wife and one of our friends chose the open-faced Reuben, and the last member of our group ordered the club sandwich. Every dish was excellent. The club sandwich was so large it required a to-go box. Before leaving, everyone except me ordered pie to go-- Fava's pies are legendary, at least to my wife and me. I skipped dessert this time and immediately regretted missing their ice cream options. We dropped the pies off in the car (it was cold enough outside to keep them safe), and then the ladies headed off to explore the shops of Georgetown. And I cannot leave out the wait staff, very attentive and friendly . This was my second visit to Fava's, and both times have been outstanding. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can enjoy their food again--and this time, I won't miss out on the ice cream.
