Longhorn is one of the few chain restaurants that I still dine at. The food is consistently good and you are never surprised with the quality being poor or not up to your standards. We dined here last Sunday for my dad's birthday celebration. We arrived around 5:45pm and our party of 4 did not have a wait. The restaurant was very slow for a Sunday, which was nice. The service was subpar. We waited nearly 15 minutes for bread after arriving and our appetizers and food took a while to come out. Our waitress was a bit slow. We enjoyed the tasty onion petals for an appetizer. I enjoyed the salmon with rice and broccoli, while my husband had the grilled chicken with a sweet potato and brussels. My parents enjoyed grilled chicken, chopped steak, and their respective sides. If it is your birthday, make sure to have someone let the staff know. Food: for the money you cannot beat this place. The steaks are amazing of the appetizers are great. We had a party of five people. Everyone getting some different food and everyone really enjoyed it and again you cannot be the price. You have to try the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. Service: the service was very good. We were greeted by a host that made us feel like an inconvenience because he said we "caught him in the middle of doing something." He spoke like everything was a question because he said he was busy. It was very awkward. We finally got seated and waited around 10 min to be greeted despite very few diners (2 other tables.) To receive service, I had to stand by our table because us waving at the host only caused him to leave his post. By the time we were waited on we decided against an appetizer because we were ready to order our meals with our drink order. When our server finally brought our bread, she didn't bring the bread knife so we could cut it like usual. I can't imagine why a very green server with no hone skills is turned loose with no help on a Saturday night. He could not remember anything. Even with 2 reminders we still never saw some things we ordered or asked for. Bourbon on the rocks? no ice. Could you bring some ice? no ice. Menu states salad and 1 side. 4 entrees ordered. No salads ever came. Asked for one salad to go at end of meal. Never came. Baked potato soup? received a baked potato. A six thirty reservation became a 2 hour dinner and the place was not packed. While we did receive a discount from the manager it was too little too late. We thought we were being punked it was so bad. Food was good for half of us. My favorite chain steakhouse of all time. I always get the parm crusted chicken and it never fails to satisfy my taste buds. Longhorn has the best Brussels sprouts, hands down. Sweet, savory, crispy and delicious every time! Today I tried the lobster Mac since it's a limited time side and it was good! Not too fishy but the lobster didn't change the flavor of the Mac too much at all. We also had the dragonfruit patron margarita which was delicious. I stopped here for lunch on a weekday when I was working nearby. Even at lunchtime on a Thursday the restaurant was very busy. A popular place! My server was prompt and very friendly. She brought delicious hot bread and butter, and I ordered salmon and a baked potato with sour cream, butter, and cheese. Salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Excellent! My potato was large, and very hot. I knew it was freshly baked as it was steaming and fluffy. I love a good baked potato, and at other restaurants I have been disappointed with obviously reheated leftover baked potatoes but not here. This was truly one of the best baked potatoes I can remember. This was a great lunch experience. Food and service couldn't have been better. Whenever I ask people what is Longhorn Steakhouse, a lot of people would say a fancier version of Texas Roadhouse. After going here for the first time, I completely agree. Typically when I go to steakhouses, I'm not satisfied with the steak. That's mostly just me, because I like my steak raw and red. This place did just that and it was absolutely delicious. They made my ribeye EXACTLY how I liked it!!! I would say everything was a little salty but overall flavor was wonderful. Our waitress was super sweet and kept checking up on us. I went around lunch time on a weekday and the place not too busy which made it easy for us to find a seat. Parking was super plentiful around. The Longhorn here was not ideal. My filet was overcooked and my mashed potatoes were actually cold. I normally would have returned the food but I didn't this time because it wasn't my normal location and I was with family from out of town. The restaurant was dirty. This location uses a bait and switch scam to get customers, online waitlist shows "no-wait", I even made a reservation and was told to walk in to the restaurant, upon entering I was told by the staff that the wait list "doesn't really mesh well" and that they don't go by the waitlist, and was told I'd have to wait an additional 35 minutes after the website told me my table was ready. I made a reservation for my party, but the host did not have our reservation. After speaking with the host they were able to find a table for my group. After we were seated they service was great. Lunch. Sunday. Crowded. Worth the wait for a table. Food was great and I mean great. Better than expected. Service was very slow so be prepared for that. It was almost like eating in installments between the appetizer and salad and before the main course, however - the food and friendliness of the staff went a long way to helping us forget how slow the service was. I highly recommend the "Tonion" appetizer. The options came with very generous portions. Hubby and I both ate well at the restaurant and took home enough to eat again later! We are grateful to have Longhorn in our neighborhood. For two decades, they are our choice for a night out or to enjoy with family and friends. 100% of the time their steaks are grilled most perfectly, juicy and tender. A variety of fresh salads with homemade dressings are available as a side, so fresh and balanced I often order another salad to enjoy at home the following day. Broccoli is cooked to perfection with a tender crunch and mildly seasoned. Baked potatoes are fluffy and served with crunchy skin and add ons if you so desire. Sweet potatoes are almost like a dessert; we love the skin and a light pat of cinnamon butter. Most yummy! Other side choices include sautéed plump mushrooms and onion, homemade macaroni and cheese, delicate rice pilaf and freshly made soups. Seafood entrees are flavorful; we often enjoy the bourbon sauce or fresh garlic butter to highlight the entree. Pork chops are yummy as are the various chicken entrees. A variety of lunch combinations are available including a steak salad with soup and bread. Fresh warm bread with real butter is served and offered multiple times. We love the appetizers choices all of which are sharable some with light oriental sauce and others with a perky Hispanic seasoning. Recently, their new chicken bites served with a light BBQ for dipping. Their dry rub wings are a huge portion that offer various ways to enjoy! Last but not least, three scrumptious dessert choices allow them to offer consistency in presentation; the strawberry shortcake is a refreshing finale to your meal. Wait staff is attentive without interference to the meal. Each and every time discreetly checking on your needs. We love the manners and maturity of the staff as this is a rare find in any service these days. Specifically. Chauncey, Bobbi and Tracy make this happen. Though they primarily work at the bar they often pitch in elsewhere. They are all most personable. Tito's tea is a favorite; like a fresh Arnold Palmer with just the right amount of vodka. Chauncey is a master at juggling attentive service in the bar area while having to monitor go orders. Many customers like us become regulars because of the welcoming staff. This dinner was a mixed bag. The restaurant was clean and the music was not too loud. We were seated quickly but then waited for quite a while for someone to even get our drink order. We both ordered a steak an it was cooked to perfection. I ordered 3 extra toppings with my meal only which two of arrived. We also placed a to go order when our food arrived that we waited well over an hour to come out. After a long day of waiting at the hospital, this was a two hour long meal that we did not anticipate or want. Our server was trying to wait on tables and buss other tables. She was great!!! They dealt with guests that waited over 30 minutes for a table when the restaurant had empty tables inside. My Wife and I went to lunch there after church. I ordered the strawberry chicken salad and she ordered the Flo center cut with a baked potato. We waited almost an hour for our food. We finally called the waitress over and told her we was leaving and she said the cook said it would just take a couple of minutes. We waited. The food finally came and we ate. It was good. No problems there. When we was paying my wife told the waitress that she was disappointed that the manager on duty didn't come over and apologize or anything. She said she told him how upset we was and that if it had been any other manager on duty they would have came over. What kind of manager knows he has upset customers and then doesn't do his job and come over and at the very least apologize. This is the first time that I've gone to this LongHorn Steakhouse, as I was always told that the one in Frankfort is the best. Husband and I ordered pick-up. I wanted a medium rare ribeye steak with a potato. The Ribeye steak tho, was very VERY much well-done. Typically I would have gone inside to share my complaint; but I just don't have the time today to do that. The potato was good and the bread as well. Husband ordered their Steak Salad. He loves it. He asked for his steak medium. His steak was also very well-done. His oil with vinegar was actually olive oil (as most people use other oils). He said other than the steak being well done, it was good. My lunch had very good tastes; but I believe I will have to stick to eating at LongHorn Steakhouse in Frankfort, KY. We got curb side it was a 20 min drive back to our hotel, so of course everything was a little cold. We got NY Strip, I had Mac n cheese which was $2.99 extra, & fries. The fries were ok a little cold & soggy from juice from the steak. I didn't like the Mac n cheese, definitely not worth extra charge. The steak was pretty good. My husband had salad & corn on the cob. The corn was also extra $2.99. It was super smothered in butter, but was ok. Still not worth extra charge. It was almost $70 for our meal! I have long enjoyed visits to Longhorn. The shrimp appetizer, the delicious steaks, and the Mac and cheese are some of my favorites on the menu, but one of the main reasons I visit is the French onion soup. They do a great job with this popular favorite with rich broth, caramelized onions, and topped with bread and cheese. Yum! On a recent visit with my husband we tried selections from the lunch menu, which we both enjoyed. Our only disappointment was that the shrimp appetizer was not available when we ordered, and we chose not to wait 20 minutes for them to prepare it. Our steak sandwiches and soup came out quickly, though, and we enjoyed our meal. For lunch or dinner, I think you will find something to enjoy at Longhorn. read more
