And if I was there to take photos only or enjoy the scenery, this would be a 5 star review. The location is great! We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and people watching on the Nickle Plate trail. Taylor was our server. She wore a birthday headband so not sure if it was her actual birthday or decorations but her energy gave she would rather be anywhere but work (perhaps celebrating her birthday?). I had to ask another waitress walking by if I could get more water (she was super nice and friendly, I didn't get her name). We had a friend join late, Taylor never acknowledged her or even asked if she wanted to place an order. Taylor came and grabbed our receipts because she didn't want them to "fly away". Mind you, there was no wind and they were tucked in the receipt book thing-a-ma-bob. Stephen the manger checked on us and filled him in on Taylor (unbeknownst to me he was the manager at the time). I had the pear margarita. Apparently they ran out of oranges so the drink arrived without any garnishment so no photo worthy pic obtained. It was just ok. My friend had the pineapple rum old fashioned and said it was delicious. I had the Brussel sprouts. They were mediocre at best. I requested some ranch to make them More palatable and that was a good move. The ranch is very good!!

The 'Hoosier Daddy' was excellent! All four in our party selected the same thing. Two of us selected tots, the other two selected fries; I highly recommend the tots though my wife said the fries are excellent as well. Get the tenderloin loaded and ask for the aioli/garlic mayonnaise. It's has a kick and the flavor is outstanding. Dress the sandwich with tomato, onion, lettuce and a pickle and you will have one of if not the best tenderloin sandwich you've ever had! The eating area is a rustic bar setting. It is comfortable but a 'tad' loud but we were able to talk ok. It was comfortable and we're enjoyed the evening quite a bit. Our server was friendly, courteous and prompt. Two of us added a side wedge salad We were very satisfied. The sliders are just the right size, easily manageable and the taste was excellent. The breading could have been a tad more crisp, but it was fine. The buns were a tad larger that the tenderloin, but we were happy with the portions. There are 3 sliders with the combo and we actually split two order among the 4 of us. Adding the salad was wise as we all were quite satisfied One order came with fires and we had the onion 'straws' with the other. The variety was nice and made us enjoy the total order better. Our server was great and made sure we got our Tenderloin Trail discount up front. Couldn't have been more accommodating! We sat inside as it was miserably hot and humid outside. The indoor seating was nice and pleasant. We were surprise that the restaurant wasn't busier on the night we were there, but we heard that the turnout for other places was lower on that night due to the heat. We were very happy that we went and that we chose Wolfiea in Geist to start the trail. We truly enjoyed the fries and the salads.

Another in our party had the baja shrimp tacos along with the jalapeño creamed corn. Said both were very good. I tasted the creamed corn and it was excellent Finally I had the Wolfpack Supreme pizza. Very tasty, fresh toppings and very crispy crust. Could have used just a bit more sauce for my taste, but was still excellent. Parking was easy and the view was worth the trip. Service was very fast and courteous.

It has been over ten years since my original review of Fort Ben Pub, a locally owned pub and grill…read moretype establishment located in the Fort Ben area in the same strip center that includes Moo & Lou's Ice Cream and Phaya Thai. There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. That's Fort Ben Pub.

I had Cole slaw and fried okra with is, both we excellent sides. The Cole slaw was 'runny', not a heavy mayonnaise base but did not taste vinegary. The chicken parmigiana had the same breading as the tenderloin and my wife said it was crisp, yet juicy as well. Both meals are something we will definitely return for! We loved the ambiance. The bar eating area is very reminiscent of an English pub, with dark wood, booths surrounding a large bar and the lighting was just enough to not be drab Our waitress was pleasant and took good care of us quite well!

The booths are pretty small ... kind of a tight squeeze for 4 people. We were greeted quickly. The waiter brought our drinks quickly and then we ordered right away, some of us choosing old favorites like pasta RIGATONI BOLOGNESE, yummy CHICKEN PICCATA... i think my bro gets the same thing every week! Both my sis and I ordered a salad with chicken, pineapple, strawberry (1), and.... amazingly delicious figs ... it's my new favorite called WALTS CHAMPAGNE CHICKEN SALAD. Service was good until the refill coke was handed over the back of the booth, and never noticed that it spilled immediately. (Waiter was long gone as we cleaned up the little spills. ... oops) Prices are pricey but food is delicious. I don't go often because it's too rich for me without a special occasion. The location isn't bad; driving in from the east side it's got a weird way of entering the parking lot next to the bank. There aren't a lot of other places to eat nearby so this works for us! We will certainly be back!

Husband had the pork chops ($16.99) you can choose 2 sides and if you like, they'll make them BBQ Or Cajun. He chose Cajun. There were two giant pork chops on the plate. He said they were thick & juicy, and perfectly cooked. Definitely pleased. I chose the Smothered Monterey Jack chicken ($15.99) with broccoli & garlic mashed potatoes. The breast was small, but VERY tasty! Covered in cheese, sautéed onions & mushrooms. The garlic mashed potatoes were good too! Our service was good and the manger came around to see how we were doing. I noticed he visited several tables to see if everyone was happy. Overall a very good visit and we'll be back. The four stars is because they have several burger, chicken, & specialty sandwich options, that sound wonderful, but they only come with chips. If you want fries or onion rings, you have to pay $2.79 extra, on a burger that is already $12. Plus extra .79 cents for "deluxe," Which includes, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and pickle. I feel like (with all the many restaurants that offer combos) this is a little disappointing. We will still return, because what we had was very good. But if we want a burger or hot sandwich, we will go somewhere that offers side options, included in the meal.
