    BARBECUE BABY BACK RIBS

As always the food, and ambiance were excellent! This is my go to place when I can't decide what to eat. Because they always have something delicious. Raymond was our server. He anticipated everything we wanted from appetizers, finger tip towels, and drink refills. He was excellent!

I love Charleston's! I appreciate their ambience. It's warm, friendly, and the staff makes you feel right at home. I ordered the ribs with a baked potato and broccoli (which was at special request since it's not listed on the menu) One thing about Charleston's is they are going to make sure if you arrived hungry, you will NOT be leaving hungry! The portions are very generous! My meal arrived warm and ready for me to dig in! The ribs were savory and the meat fell right off the bone. My baked potato and broccoli were also delicious! If you haven't checked out Charleston's, what are you waiting for? Great food, amazing service, and wonderful atmosphere!

    $19 Reuben Sandwich

Before coming here make sure you go to CostCo down the street and get the $100 gift cards for $79.99, a free 20% discount on your meal. My mom loves to come here. The ribs are excellent, but I decided to not get ribs this night. I had the $19 Reuben Sandwich. It was ok, not great, but not bad. We sat at the bar and there are a ton of townies here. The food here is better than a chain like Chilis, Applebee's, Olive Garden, but nothing fancy. Quick and friendly service. Solid place for a cheap meal.

I had came here for dinner which I had never been to this Charleston location and it had been a long time since I had been to a Charleston. While here I had sat at the bar. The bar tender was friendly and answered the questions that I had. I had got a peach Bellini drink and then chicken with the sweet potatoes which all really good. The food was made really good. It didn't disappoint at all. Service was quick here and I didn't have to wait a long time for my food to come out. The atmosphere was really great and quiet in here. There were people in here but it wasn't loud and the vibe was a good one. I will be back here again for the food soon.

The salmon salad is absolutely delicious. Always pair it with a yummy croissant. But on this evening I also tried a delicious Key Lime Pie martini. Um. Amazing. Food is always delicious here and now I know the drinks are too!

Charleston's is a nice casual dining restaurant that always delivers quality service and food. This visit was for a group of 9. Charleston's was great about accommodating us without a reservation. Although they couldn't seat us a one table, they were able to sit us at two tables across from each other. I usually get the fried catfish, but this time I opted for the gumbo and Chicken Club Salad. Both were very good. Everyone really liked their meals and the restaurant recommendation.

Perfect Margarita with fresh muddles strawberries

Amanda has been an exceptional!! She works Sat, Sun and-Mon every week! Her service is beyond excellent with top notch quality at a luxurious designed bar which truly brings your pulse down to rejuvenate no matter the weather! I ordered a perfect margarita with a Caesar salad (oh the sweetened croissant delish) and not only did I place the order. Amanda took it to a whole other level just by asking if I desire fresh strawberries to be muddled served in a frosted martini cocktail glass. I ordered two but would stay longer. I need to be in and out and the service is more than 5 stars. The attention by all the staff to greet me and make me welcome goes above and beyond! On a Monday night the tables in the bar were filling up and everyone was so pleased with the service by Austin! I took it a step further and ordered dessert and when they said cheesecake, I didn't expect a grand piece 4 inches thick served with a blueberry coulis and lemon cello sauce. I can't wait to devour the dessert and more of the menu when I return on a girls night. This is an excellent option for a group of six at a table in the bar or seating for 15 at the bar. Not sure if they can reserve those seats but it would be worth it when the service, staff and quality are reaching a tier worth stopping in for!!

Charlestons is one of those places I often overlook. It sits next to a hotel and is across from Twin Peaks on 82nd St., at the intersection of I-69 and 465. I had a gift card, so figured I'd stop in one evening to have dinner. I was seated quickly and noticed that there's a fireplace inside that emits a lovely burning wood scent. That, along with the beautiful poinsettias and warm wood booths really adds to the cozy ambiance here. My friendly waitress Alicia attended to me quickly and took my order. Despite it being late (around 830p), there were quite a few occupied tables. I ordered the walleye fish blackened with vegetable blend and a side house salad. My salad arrived, accompanied by a delicious croissant with a drizzle of sweet butter. Shortly after, my dinner arrived. The fish was cooked perfectly, and it was such a large portion that I was able to take some home for lunch the next day! The service was excellent...that combined with the warm, inviting atmosphere was perfect for a cold winter's eve dinner.

Charleston's offers a surprisingly elevated experience without the hefty price tag. The ambiance is classy, the service attentive, and the food? Absolutely satisfying. You're only spending slightly more than you would at a fast-food chain, but the difference in quality and atmosphere is night and day. Now let's talk about what stole my heart: THE FRENCH FRIES. Thin, crispy, golden perfection. I'm not exaggerating when I say they're some of the best I've ever had--light, crunchy, and completely addictive. If you're a fry lover like me, this place is a must. The only reason I'm holding back one star is because, as someone who's been vegan all my life, I would love to see more plant-based options on the menu. Currently, there are no vegan mains or desserts, so I had to rely on the fries (not complaining, but still!). That said, Charleston's delivers big flavor, a refined atmosphere, and unbeatable value. If they ever expand their menu with plant-based dishes, it's a five-star experience waiting to happen.

This place is ok. Not my favorite but it is my parent's favorite. The price point is a little higher for what you get. The portions were pretty large. I had the catfish and it was good. It also came with two sides that you can substitute out, for what you would like. Our server, Raymond, was really polite and pleasant to work with. They also have kids meal options.

We celebrated friend, Lori Tilstra's birthday at Charleston's on 82nd Street in Indy on August 29th. The bar is awesome! Ralph and Lori both had the Pasta. Dave had the meatloaf and I had the baby back ribs. I took home lots of leftovers. We all really enjoyed our meals. Sorry no photos of the meals, I forget until we demolish the plate, lol

Charleston's Meatloaf & Barbeque Baby Back Ribs

My friend and I decided to check out Charleston's for some food & yapping haha. I arrived a little after my friend and the hostess was so sweet & complimented me (extra points for her! Haha) but what was most impressive is she knew my name. Love that! Our server was excellent too. He was attentive but also gave us enough space to communicate without constant interruptions. It reminded me of your typical dine in restaurant. Nothing too fancy. Very chill environment. I had the Flirtini for a drink, it was basically a cosmo with champagne 8/10. The Creamy Spinach dip was the star of the show, it was so yummy & the fresh chips were the icing on top. I had the meatloaf paired with mashed potatoes & broccoli. The meatloaf was good, my friend had the baby back ribs & I should've got those instead. The spinach dip alone is enough to make me return & I really enjoyed my drink.

    Bread pudding - delicious!

I got the North African tagine. Had it before and it was almost perfect. Needed more salt, which I requested. Decaf French press coffee from Hubbard and Cravens (my fave place) was absolutely perfect. Our server Paige was friendly and attentive. The bread basket was assorted and amazing. We were in Fishers and a couple of friends suggested that we come here for a late lunch. We arrived around 3 pm on a Sunday. There were only a few other tables of diners at this time. Our party of 3 was seated promptly. We ordered chicken and noodles, a tenderloin, and a veggie burger, a side salad, and Brussels sprouts. I'll mention that there were very few vegetarian options on the menu. Actually the only vegetarian entrée on the menu was the option to substitute a veggie burger for one of the burgers. There were several vegetarian sides. We all enjoyed our food. The tenderloin was huge, chicken and noodles tasted homemade as well as the mashed potatoes. We all enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. We didn't receive the fresh baked bread but after leaving we looked at the menu and it said "Fresh baked bread (upon request)" and we hadn't known we had to request it. Next time we will know it is only served upon request, but I wish our server had asked if we wanted bread, especially with the chicken and noodles. Our server was pleasant but didn't stop by our table again after he took our order until it was time to bring our check. Someone else had brought our food out. It would have been nice if he would have stopped by once to check on our table. The food was excellent, we all said we would come back for the same items we ordered today but would also like to try other entrées.

My daughter wanted a mocktail and the waitress carded her for a beverage that has zero alcohol. The waitress said they have to card. Great so my daughter got a water. The waitress was not attentive, we had to ask someone to get her to come to our table. Considering the place only had about 5 tables at that time we shouldn't have had to ask for her to check on us. The food was ok at best. The lemon chicken had a soggy coating and just didn't mesh well with the arugula that topped the chicken. We were not asked if we wanted dessert and just asked if we were on one check. We had 2 separate checks for the table. My friend paid for her family and I paid for my family. As we checked our bills to make sure we are paying for what we ordered we noticed a 20% tip added for a large party. Large party? There's 7 people. So we asked about it and the waitress said they add gratuity for more than 5 people and it was in fine print in the menu. Her exact words. So many things are wrong with that. Let's start with more than 5 people a tip is added. 8+ people is considered a lrg party. Not to mention 20% That's absolutely crazy. I will never go back there. I've been a server for over 20 yrs and have been out of it for sometime now BUT 20%. Bye Sahm's maybe that's why your restaurant was dead.

I always order the Cuban when a new restaurant has one on the menu, and Big Lug's did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful, and one of the better Cubans I've had in a while. On my second visit, I went with the blackened cod tacos on corn tortillas (you can also get flour tortillas, and they offer shrimp and breaded fish options). They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Both visits I ordered the spicy garlic cauliflower, and it was outstanding. The homemade blue cheese dressing took it to another level. If you're on the fence about ordering it, don't be--it was one of my favorite things on the menu. The outdoor walk-up bar creates a really cool, laid-back atmosphere, making it a great place to relax whether you're meeting friends or just enjoying a meal by yourself. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and both meals came out quickly. I don't usually eat at the same restaurant twice on a trip, but Big Lug earned it. If I'm back in the area, it'll definitely be on my list again.

Big Lug is a very cool spot right off the Monon, and even better if you have a pooch with you!…read moreUnfortunately, our experience with the service was pretty disappointing. We sat right in the middle of the main thoroughfare and were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes before we finally flagged someone down. The guy, "H," apologized and said, "Oh, my bad--it's all good." We figured, no big deal, let's move on. We ordered pretty simple food, apps and were then going to put in some entrees once apps arrived. We asked for waters and a water bowl for our pups. He brought two waters--with no straws--and no dog bowl. We assumed he was going to grab the bowl, so we waited... and waited. Then I noticed him at the end of the bar leaning against some boxes, texting. So I finally got up, interrupted him and asked for the dog bowl. His response, "oh my bad." Our appetizers came out, and naturally, we asked for silverware. A few minutes later, I spotted "H" in the corner on his phone again. At that point I was thinking, seriously?! So I got up again, interrupted "H's" text convo and asked for silverware. His response again was, "Oh, my bad." I didn't respond to him I just turned around and went back to my seat. Honestly, the whole experience started feeling more like a self-serve restaurant than table service. It's a chill spot and we weren't being needy whatsoever. We never asked for any refills- we were merely asking for the basics. We wanted to order more food, but by that point we were pretty turned off and decided to just get the check. Then came the final straw: my guy had his license and credit card sitting on the table because he hadn't brought his wallet out for our monon trek. When "H" came back with the checkout thing, without question or hesitation - he grabbed the card and swiped it. We didn't even realize what happened until afterward. Maybe that's standard there, but I've never had a server just take my card without asking. Usually you get a "hey do we want to use this card? Or something to confirm. And of course the tip structure is skewed so the min is 20% unless you want to try to figure out to manually enter in 15% (which most ppl don't -incl my guy), so we left 20% and left irritated and still hungry. "H" didn't seem hungover or anything--he just genuinely seemed like he did not not give a shiiiit. We had to get up three separate times to get things we had already requested: the dog bowl, a couple straws, and silverware. (Basics) And a quick note on the 7-Layer Hoss Dip: don't expect seven layers. It comes in a small thick ceramic bowl and was basically beans, guacamole, a tiny bit of corn and some hard cheese on top. Definitely would not recommend it. Way too "beany" and not worth $16 at all. The southwest rolls were decent- very fried tho. Cheesecake Factory's are better ;) The location and dog-friendly atmosphere are great, with the exception of the homeless camp right at their patio entrance, but unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. Hopefully this was just an off night, because Big Lug has a lot going for it.
