Came in with the family on a Tuesday and loved the experience! Tuesdays are meant for families: Free kids meals w/ adult purchase Free ballon animals Free face painting Arcade room (daily) They also have happy hour deals 3-5:30pm! We had really good appetizers: cheese curds and fried pickles. My favorite were the cheese curds, soft cheesy inside with a great batter on the outside! The fried pickles were also good! The portions were great. Got adventurous and tried the jalapeño popper burger, it's a really popular burger. There are so many options to try, I'm confident I can find more burgers I'll love. The salads also looked really good and I'd like to try one on my next visit. They also offer cute/fun themed drinks for the kids and my two opted for a milkshake and a just ducky (blue mixed drink with gummy worms and a rubber duck on top). Went in for lunch with my son and grandson. It's a place open to families. We ordered a pretzel with cheese for an appetizer! It was buttery and served with ranch and nacho cheese! Fantastic! One of the best pretzels I've had in a long time! I have seen on a review that this is one of the best breaded tenderloins in the state! I'm not much of a breaded tenderloin eater but this was out of this world! Fantastic! My sandwich was called Hoosiers daddy! It was served with lettuce, tomato and onion. It has a side of mayo served with it! This also comes with French fries that were crispy and hot. A delicious meal!!! Our server was very attentive and kind too!

A friend and I decided to meet here because it is in between and we both agreed we were happy that we did! One side is more of a bar, they actually have it closed off which I liked b/c the other have is more family style tables and booths. Our server, Brock took great care of us and was very attentive - my friend went with the steak with sweet potato fries, I just got their boneless wings (half sweet chili and half medium hot) and we shared their spinach dip w/pita - we also had hot tea and they have honey available (not always common) - nonetheless, we enjoyed everything! They have happy hour until about 5:30 (weekdays) and Wednesdays you receive FREE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES - Brock gave us 2 each If you haven't stopped in before, I hope this review has made you start the car!

Great place for family. We were able to watch some of the college basketball games and enjoy our food. I had salmon and broccoli which was good but not a huge portion. My other half had steak and twice baked potatoes. The steak wasn't cook like he ordered and the waiter was able to get a new one cooked for him fairly quickly. My little one enjoyed the smiley fries, burger. We had dessert chocolate and Oreo milkshakes which were both delicious. CR Hero offers Americana food with a family friendly atmosphere.

This family pub has a unique decor of superheroes and historical figures. Our server was very helpful and attentive. The food was pretty good. Our kids loved their specialty drinks! Nice place is bring the family on a random day. I'm sure we'll be back soon!

My family has been regular customers at CR Hero's since it opened in the early 2000s. This is one of my must-eat-at places when I visit family! When I found out about my food allergies, we discovered that CR Hero's had also undergone some menu changes to accommodate gluten-free diets. I always leave feeling satisfied and full! My favorites are the cheese fries (gluten-free, dedicated fryer) and the Hoosier Mama, but the burgers are always a solid choice. The food is always fresh, the waitstaff is friendly, and the decor is top-notch! When I describe CR Hero's decor to friends, they are confused until they walk inside and see the superheroes (comic book and real life) coating every wall. The vibes are not to be missed, nor is the food!

I love this place! Been here a couple times. They have so many options for everyone dining. Great prices as well. I have celiac disease so I can't have gluten and they have gluten free chicken tenders and fries (all fried in a dedicated fryer), that's unheard of! My husband got boneless wings and fries. Our server was Brock and he was so helpful and attentive. Do yourself a favor and stop in

Had always wanted to try this little neighborhood place and glad I finally did. Was there for lunch during the weekday with a coworker, but noticed a full bar on the left side. We both ordered the firecracker burger - Cheddar Jack cheese, bacon slices, onion straws, pretzel bun, firecracker sauce on the side. It was a good sized burger & had a nice amount of heat. I would go back and try other items on the menu; told my hubs we need to go again. #yum #ReviewsByRL

    Buffalo Mac N Cheese!!

Growing up, CR Hero's was my all-time favorite restaurant. I celebrated my birthdays here, got my face painted on kids eat free night, and begged to come here every time we went out for dinner. My family and I were regulars when I was younger, so much that I learned the weekly specials schedule: Free Cookie Wednesday, Trivia Thursday, and our favorite--kids eat free Tuesday, complete with balloon animals and face painting. CR Hero's held such a special place in my childhood because so much of the restaurant appealed to kids. From the specialty milkshakes, to the superhero theming, to the arcade, it was essentially a wonderland--with delicious food! As we got older and busier, CR Hero's fell off our radar, but our love for the restaurant was recently rekindled. When I was younger, I was a picky eater and really only tried the buttered pasta and the soft pretzels at CR's. Now that I have a more mature palate, I was ready to venture out onto more 'complex' dishes. For dinner, my sister and I both had the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. The meal comes with crispy chicken, but I was able to substitute grilled chicken for no additional charge. The mac and cheese was so creamy and cheesy, and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. The green onions added a nice pop of flavor to the dish, which my sister and I both enjoyed. As much as I loved it, I couldn't finish everything because the portion was huge! My sister and I could have split it and each had enough to fill us up. My mother had the filet grilled cheese with a side of the homemade potato chips. It looked and smelled delicious, and the steak was cooked to medium rare, exactly as she requested. My father was happy to see that the Buffalo chicken salad was still on the menu, as it has always been his favorite dish. And of course, no meal at CR Hero's is complete without an order of soft pretzels! Whether it's ordered a la carte or by the basket, the pretzels are hands-down my family's favorite appetizer. Salty, buttery, mouth-watering dough served piping hot, you really can't go wrong. We have even ordered a tray of CR's pretzels for our family gatherings on numerous occasions! CR Hero's will always hold a special place in my heart, not only for the nostalgia, but for the delicious food as well! ‍‍

I had Cole slaw and fried okra with is, both we excellent sides. The Cole slaw was 'runny', not a heavy mayonnaise base but did not taste vinegary. The okra breading was perfect and the okra was fried just right, not soggy nor hard. Again the flavor was excellent! The chicken parmigiana had the same breading as the tenderloin and my wife said it was crisp, yet juicy as well. Both meals are something we will definitely return for! We loved the ambiance. The bar eating area is very reminiscent of an English pub, with dark wood, booths surrounding a large bar and the lighting was just enough to not be drab Our waitress was pleasant and took good care of us quite well!

Both my sis and I ordered a salad with chicken, pineapple, strawberry (1), and.... amazingly delicious figs ... it's my new favorite called WALTS CHAMPAGNE CHICKEN SALAD. Service was good until the refill coke was handed over the back of the booth, and never noticed that it spilled immediately. (Waiter was long gone as we cleaned up the little spills. ... oops) Prices are pricey but food is delicious. I don't go often because it's too rich for me without a special occasion. The location isn't bad; driving in from the east side it's got a weird way of entering the parking lot next to the bank. There aren't a lot of other places to eat nearby so this works for us! We will certainly be back!

Two of us added a side wedge salad We were very satisfied. The sliders are just the right size, easily manageable and the taste was excellent. There are 3 sliders with the combo and we actually split two order among the 4 of us. Our server was great and made sure we got our Tenderloin Trail discount up front. Couldn't have been more accommodating! We sat inside as it was miserably hot and humid outside. The indoor seating was nice and pleasant. We were surprise that the restaurant wasn't busier on the night we were there, but we heard that the turnout for other places was lower on that night due to the heat. I always order the Cuban when a new restaurant has one on the menu, and Big Lug's did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful, and one of the better Cubans I've had in a while. On my second visit, I went with the blackened cod tacos on corn tortillas (you can also get flour tortillas, and they offer shrimp and breaded fish options). They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Both visits I ordered the spicy garlic cauliflower, and it was outstanding. The homemade blue cheese dressing took it to another level. If you're on the fence about ordering it, don't be--it was one of my favorite things on the menu. The outdoor walk-up bar creates a really cool, laid-back atmosphere, making it a great place to relax whether you're meeting friends or just enjoying a meal by yourself. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and both meals came out quickly. I don't usually eat at the same restaurant twice on a trip, but Big Lug earned it. We sat right in the middle of the main thoroughfare and were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes before we finally flagged someone down. The guy, "H," apologized and said, "Oh, my bad--it's all good." We figured, no big deal, let's move on. We ordered pretty simple food, apps and were then going to put in some entrees once apps arrived. We asked for waters and a water bowl for our pups. He brought two waters--with no straws--and no dog bowl. We assumed he was going to grab the bowl, so we waited... and waited. Then I noticed him at the end of the bar leaning against some boxes, texting. So I finally got up, interrupted him and asked for the dog bowl. His response, "oh my bad." Our appetizers came out, and naturally, we asked for silverware. A few minutes later, I spotted "H" in the corner on his phone again. At that point I was thinking, seriously?! So I got up again, interrupted "H's" text convo and asked for silverware. His response again was, "Oh, my bad." I didn't respond to him I just turned around and went back to my seat. Honestly, the whole experience started feeling more like a self-serve restaurant than table service. It's a chill spot and we weren't being needy whatsoever. We never asked for any refills- we were merely asking for the basics. We wanted to order more food, but by that point we were pretty turned off and decided to just get the check. Then came the final straw: my guy had his license and credit card sitting on the table because he hadn't brought his wallet out for our monon trek. When "H" came back with the checkout thing, without question or hesitation - he grabbed the card and swiped it. We didn't even realize what happened until afterward. Maybe that's standard there, but I've never had a server just take my card without asking. Usually you get a "hey do we want to use this card? Or something to confirm. And of course the tip structure is skewed so the min is 20% unless you want to try to figure out to manually enter in 15% (which most ppl don't -incl my guy), so we left 20% and left irritated and still hungry. "H" didn't seem hungover or anything--he just genuinely seemed like he did not not give a shiiiit. We had to get up three separate times to get things we had already requested: the dog bowl, a couple straws, and silverware. (Basics) And a quick note on the 7-Layer Hoss Dip: don't expect seven layers. It comes in a small thick ceramic bowl and was basically beans, guacamole, a tiny bit of corn and some hard cheese on top. Definitely would not recommend it. Way too "beany" and not worth $16 at all. The southwest rolls were decent- very fried tho. Cheesecake Factory's are better ;) The location and dog-friendly atmosphere are great, with the exception of the homeless camp right at their patio entrance, but unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. Hopefully this was just an off night, because Big Lug has a lot going for it.
