The waitress, Iyanna was great! The manager came out and went to tables asking how everyone was. This Applebees hasn't always been the best, but we've noticed (the last few times we've gone,) that they're really trying to do better. The place was clean, we were seated promptly. To improve, I would suggest having someone seat customers. I stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon during football season. You'd think it would've been busier than 5 older men at the bar & 5 tables of people, but maybe my experience today explains the lack of patronage. My 80 y/o mother & I stood at the waitress stand for 5'ish min. We looked at the menus & had enough time to decide on what we would have ordered - if we would've been sat at a table. The bartender looked at us once, one of the older dudes looked at us, but unfortunately no one else ever came to the waitress stand, to include the manager (whose name was Eric, according to the metal placard on the waitress stand). So we felt like we needed to leave & give money to a local business. When we entered the next place, we were immediately sat & ordered quickly. Good luck with staying in business when you do not have anyone able - or wants to greet - or seat customers (looking at you, Ms Bartender). It was disappointing, but the Mexican place that we ended up eating at was DELICIOUS! So maybe this should be a "Thank you, Applebee's!" We came in on Valentine's Day. From the get go, the hostess was hostile, and very rude with the other staff. This poor busser was cleaning tables and she's yelling at him to slow down. She's arguing with him infront of customers waiting. She took things from his hands and was yelling at him. I understand it is a busy holiday, but there is a way to talk to people. Two folks that I think were half asleep when we walked in had to revive each other to ask us to go sit in the bar cause neither one had the energy to seat us. Friday night after a long week, no desire to be around too many people, and a gift card that needed to be used. That's how I ended up at Applebee's tonight. And I'm simply here to rave about the fries! I ordered a quesadilla burger, take-out. It was more burger, less quesadilla, as it was just a beef patty with burger toppings, with a tortilla instead of a bun. Not really a fan, but the fries were absolutely amazing! I've never been more impressed with takeout fries. They were still fresh, nice and crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. They were seasoned perfectly, and didn't need anything else. Yes! I'm raving about Applebee's. take-out fries. Crazy right? I pulled up to the curbside car slot, called them, and they had my food out within two minutes. That was a quality experience that I will absolutely return for. Especially for those fries! read more

Went for a late dinner on Thursday night, got there just before 10PM they are supposed to be open till 1AM. The hostess refused to seat the 2 of us said they were short staffed I counted no less than 11 people "working" they were more concerned with filling their own drinks laughing and flirting with each other than cleaning or helping the people trying to give them a reason to earn paychecks. Our food when we got it was cold and wrong. We watched as other people who came in and ordered after us walked out with their food. Nothing about this visit was good. I've worked service most if my life. I did not bother to show my irritation because it wouldn't have made a positive effect. I've ordered from this location on several occasions and this experience today was disgusting. Was told that the order would be ready to pick up in 15 minutes. Upon arrival was told there were several Uber Eat orders that took precedence over mine and waited an additional 15 min. Once home, the food was cold and the chicken seemed a little undercooked. And after multiple attempts of calling, speaking with the manager/togo host we were left waiting on the line and the problem unaddressed. Would give it less stars if I could. The coffee was so bitter we couldn't drink it. I ordered a burger cooked medium. It came out dry as a bone and the flavor was horrible. I had to send it bavk it made my stomach turn. My husband ordered a steak cooked medium rare, it was dry and overcooked, he had them recook it and it still wasn't done right. He ate it because he was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. It was also way to salty and was a very poor quality steak. It reminded us of steaks that Ponderosa served right before they closed down. When they brought the check not only was my burger still on the bill but his dinner was on there twice. They never offered us any compensation for their errors and we actually had to track someone down to pay the bill. We usually really enjoy Applebee's but not this time. Me & my family of 4 went in to eat around 9:38pm on October 16. The host in the front looked at us & i kindly said it's 4 of us, he looked kind of bothered that we came in & he immediately told us it's going to be about a 30 minute wait... I replied with " that's fine we can wait." We continue to sit down. (Mind you we came in after work super bummish & looked straight up hispanic.) literally about 2 minutes later an african American gentleman walked in he even greeted him & I clearly heard him ask him " how many of you is it ?" He said 2 & 1 kid he said "I got you." The guy called in his wife ... Which i was confused..... but The hostess grabbed menus & continued to sit them & i looked at my husband confused, he said it's okay maybe he's about to sit us down as well. But no he came back & told us " you guys can wait here still i put you down for the waitlist they were here before you guys ! I was lividddddd because i heard their whole conversation! So we got up & left .... I tried calling the manager but noone answered they left me on hold. I was very upset because me and my kids & my whole family have came to this restaurant for years & never had been discriminated like that . After a rough morning, I found myself wanting to have a quiet meal and read my Sunday newspaper. Applebee's used to be one of my favorite restaurants, a place that I could go hang out with friends and not feel pressured to rush through my meal. I'm not quite sure when the atmosphere shifted at Applebee's, but over the last few years I've noticed that it has more of a "corporate" feel and less of a "neighborhood" feel to it. While I don't exactly feel rushed, I've noticed that if you actually get two drink refills you start getting a "it's time for you to go" vibe. I've gone to Applebee's a few times with friends over the past couple years, and almost without exception that feeling of being able to just hang out is gone. Today, I was in the mood for a casual meal, comfort food, and a less busy atmosphere so I checked out this location. I actually drove around quite a bit before settling on Applebee's, but ultimately it just really sounded good. I've never frequented this location as I tend to prefer the Broad Ripple area location, but this was closer to where I was running some errands and I decided to give it a chance. I was disappointed to see that all the wheelchair accessible parking spots were taken and I ended up having to park on the other side of the restaurant and wheel around to the wheelchair ramp. That said, I was greeted at the door by the hostess and that sure made things better. I was seated promptly at a table that gave my wheelchair lots of room. My server, whose name I've completely spaced, got to me in a decent amount of time and I was ready with my order when she arrived. The food, which was only a cheeseburger w/fries and an iced tea, took a bit longer than I expected but it wasn't unreasonable. The food was good and the burger was prepared "no pink" as I'd requested. As much as I'm trying to eat healthier and Applebee's does have Weight Watchers friendly fare, I'm a big fan of their burgers and can never seem to divert my attention to their low-fat items. That said, this particular meal wasn't quite as good as usual. It wasn't bad and it certainly wasn't anything I'd send back, but it just lacked the usual Applebee's flair that justifies the fact you're paying about double what you'd pay for a fast food burger. In fact, I kept thinking that for five bucks less I could have had a better burger at Steak n' Shake across the street. My visit was really just about the definition of slightly above average. The food was good, but not great. The service was good, but not great. The atmosphere was a bit busier than I'd hoped, but I was certainly able to read my newspaper. I did have to ask for even one refill, but I will say that at least the server came back a couple times. If I could, I'd probably go with 3 1/2 stars here. It simply wasn't a 4-star experience and 3-stars does feel a tad low. However, given that it wasn't up to my usual experience at Applebee's I have to stick with the 3. read more

I have ate at this location twice now and both times my service was horrible. The first time I went in and we waited 45 minutes for someone to seat us. There was plenty of empty tables but the manager said that they could not seat anyone until the kitchen caught up with cooking food. Today I went ahead and ordered online and was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes, we showed up 20 minutes after we place the order and our food was not ready. When we asked how much longer until the food was ready we were told "when it's ready". I have never been treated so poorly by a restaurant before. This location seems to be understaffed. I went on a Sunday around 3:00 so not a busy time. Food took forever. Appetizer was good, hot. I got the BBQ TEXAS brisket tacos ( not sure that is the exact name). They were supposed to be brisket tacos. The "brisket" was horrible. It was more like pot roast tacos the meat looked nothing like brisket. It also had this awful ranch dressing on them. Who eats brisket with ranch?! Then the side was french fries (default I guess) who eats fries with tacos!? OMG. I told the waitress I didn't like them she didn't offer to get me something else, just apologized. The food was cold to. I will say that they had a good bus person and he was keeping tables clean. I did see the manager delivering food AND cleaning tables. We arrived shortly after 3pm to find only a few customers inside (maybe 5 tables). We were seated immediately but left after 25 minutes without service. I feel like I just walked into my southern Mamma's house. I was called honey, sweetie, darling and a host of other enduring surnames. I called in a to-go order. I was put on hold but apologized to for said hold when she returned to the phone. My food was timely; ready when promised. I had the 4 cheese pasta. Seems pretty expensive for the little amount you actually get but it was delicious. While waiting I did get to hear some intriguing server discussions about guests in the restaurant and their wants/needs. Note to ya'll: someone is always listening. The service here is so, so, so bad. It's typically packed and they are never prepared for it. The place is filthy and you can tell they don't clean often (food left under tables, sticky tablets with dried, smeared sauces, sticky table with food residue, and don't get me started on the bathroom). I'm sure it's because they are overworked but staff is often very grumpy, especially the hostesses who huff and puff when someone walks in. Management is no better. Managers will walk around, only check on one out of every 10 or so guests. The wait times here are ridiculous just to get your drinks, let alone your food, so never show up here when in a hurry. The only saving grace is that the food is actually good most of the time. The spinach and artichoke dip is really awesome, as are the chicken wonton tacos and ribs. They change their menu often but original favorites tend to stick around. They will e-mail you their specials if you sign up but they are only for alcohol discounts, such as $2 vodka lemonades currently. This establishment needs some serious help. They have a great location, which keeps them busy, they just need to step up to properly and kindly handle the crowds. read more

I've never been to an Applebee's before but we decided to give it a try after walking into the Buffalo Wild Wings next door. At the B-Dubs there was no one there to greet us at the door, nor was the staff excited to serve us. We left before even sitting down. Natalie, our server, brought it. She was energetic, polite and had a good knowledge of the menu. We were very surprised how good the food was - we ordered buffalo wings, fish and chips and chicken alfredo. I enjoy coming to this location. The atmosphere is always great and the food is delicious. I love their spinach dip, wings, pasta, burgers, and salmon. I hosted a model meet and greet here for my breast cancer fashion show that I host every year. I was able to call ahead and make reservations for my large party of twenty plus models. The staff handled our large party with ease and were very accommodating to dietary needs of some of the ladies. It was a great experience dining at this establishment. I truly want to give this place more than three stars. I really wanted to give it less than three stars based off our previous experience. However, I am trying to be kind and remember all the previous times we have been here and have had no problems. Overall this location is well.... disorganized and dirty. They are ALWAYS understaffed. The food luckily has almost always been fresh and good. Only one time have we gotten cold sides! But it was fixed in a timely manner. I love the spinach and artichoke dip that they have here. To be honest all the appetizers are pretty good. The wife likes the wonton tacos. So all in all.... it's Applebee's I mean what's not to like.
