A pretty good restaurant. Our waitress was pretty friendly but didn't seem too knowledgeable about the food. She said that she wouldn't be able to give us an opinion because she hadn't tried it. I think the employers should always stand behind their products. The atmosphere was great for kids. They even get to eat free on weekends. However, service was a bit slow for us. Customers who came much later than us got faster service than us. We were the only East Indians there. I hate to think that was the case for the service. The fries were a bit on the skinny side. I really really want to like this place. In fact I have tried several times to give it a chance. I'm sorry to say that I continue to be let down. I'm not sure what the issue is here, but my food is never right. And no I am not one of "those" people who has to custom order everything. I recall the first time my fiancé and I ate here. It was pretty late in the evening and not too busy in the restaurant. I ordered the guacamole chicken sandwich. About 20 minutes later the server returns with a WELL done guacamole burger, definitely not what I had ordered (not too big on red meat). When I let her know it was not right she told me that I was wrong and that they didn't even have that chicken sandwich. I showed her the menu, then she believed me... Recently my fiancé picked up some food to go for the family. He arrived home only to discover that a significant amount of food was missing and....no receipt. Needless to say when I called back to inquire about the food, I was treated as a common thief looking for a free order of chicken strips. I am huge on customer service. Regardless of how good the food is, bad service is enough to keep me away. There are plenty of places to grab a quick bite in this area. I ordered delivery through Doordash. The driver went to the restaurant & waited & then after 40 minutes the restaurant cancelled my order! It was not a complicated order either! It was not the dasher or Doordash's fault. I get there's a pandemic but Steak n Shake has been consistently going downhill. I will never order or visit this Steak n Shake location again. read more

There was a day when I liked Steak 'n Shake. But recent visits have been underwhelming. This location was particularly disappointing: The chili was pretty much all beans, very little meat. My sandwich had so much mustard on it, all you could taste was mustard. The only positive thing I can say about this visit was the chocolate shake was good. When I went up to the register to pay, I could see back in the kitchen. It was a bit of a mess back there, and the floor looked like it had been quite some time since it had been cleaned. The waitstaff are incredibly nice, but also incredibly inefficient at how they bus tables, take orders, deliver orders, etc. Some of that may have to do with efficiency in the kitchen, but either way, inefficiency has run rampant every time we have either dined in or taken the drive-thru. Our most recent visit, 50% of the tables were occupied and the other 50% were not cleared off, so we had to wait a little bit to get a table. It takes forever to get food ordered and get the food, but they also get the order incomplete. They didn't bring the cookie we ordered and when I ordered the chicken sandwich (which was sub-par), they didn't tell me that tomatoes, which come on the sandwich, were not available, so I got a chicken breast with mayo and lettuce on a bun. It was nice that they made up for that by giving me a side of pickles, but still, wouldn't have ordered it if I had known there were no tomatoes. Cleanliness overall is lacking. The waitstaff dump the garbage into this bin and receipts and papers end up on the floor and they don't pick it up. Overall, I think they're suffering from mismanaged use of time. Wrong orders, incomplete orders, time it takes to get a table and get food, and cleanliness of restaurant, in addition to sub-par food, is why we won't be going here until they shape-up. read more

The service was slow and the food was sub par. They didn't bring us napkins and when we requested them it still took a long time. The fries weren't very pleasant and the seasoned ones weren't worth the extra charge. If you want to be ignored then this is the place to go because they are more interested in talking to each other. I had the absolute rudest server probably ever. She came over and sat down our silverware. Mind you there's not a single customer in here besides my roommate and me. She walks over and starts talking to her friend that's sitting in a booth. I'm in COMPLETE disbelief considering my roommate and I are BOTH servers. She then walks past us and I say "Can we get drinks when you get a chance?" She says "Do you have a problem or something because they way you're coming off is rude" while shaking her head at me. I proceed to tell her how it was surprising how she just walked away and talked to her friend without even asking about drinks. She proceeded to argue with me. It was completely unprofessional. She then put in our order while her friend stood next to her and talked shit about the situation whilst her friend stared at us. It was a great experience and no, there was NOT a tip. BAD EXPERIENCE AT STEAK N SHAKE ... Well first, we had ordered a few burgers, some chicken, some fries, and a few shakes. We had also ordered a lemonade. But it went downhill from there. When we got up to the window, the person tried to give us the wrong order. That's not a good sign. Then, they proceeded to give us only the food - NO DRINKS OR SAUCE! And the fries were filled up so low that one fry could fill up another! So we attempted to get our fries refilled when they handed out the shakes. Which also had no straws. They had asked for the whole bag, which was strange, but we gave it to him and waited. And waited. And waited! In fact, it took SO LONG, that our shakes had turned to soup! So, FINALLY, we got everything, but... the fries were ICE COLD, there was only ONE of each sauce we had asked for, and the burgers were UNWRAPPED, as if someone had messed with them. We were mad at this point. We went back home, we had opened our food, and discovered that the burgers were HALF FALLING APART. We were not happy with this. That was our final straw. We were unable to eat our food. So, we afterwards called the manager, who was thankfully very understanding and had given us a refund. So, please save yourself a trip here and avoid this location. Wow has the service at this location gone downhill. We stopped in tonight about 9:30, the tables were about 80% full but we got seated quickly. For the next 20 minutes we talked to no one. No water, no "hey we're kind of busy but I'll be back in a minute", no eye contact...nothing. Seriously, is it too much to ask to a least be acknowledged? After seeing a waitress pass buy for about the 10th time and basically being ignored we just got up & left. From the time I ordered my food in the drive thru to the time I pulled away from the window was at least 20 minutes, with only one car in front of me. The manager, or who appeared to be, was flirting at the counter with someone he was familiar with, lots of noise and carrying on in the kitchen area. We were not checked on until our food was gone and the one thing they seem to be known for, the shakes, we're not offered to us. We had to ask for a menu and she was surprised when we said we would like to order a shake to go. We will return because of the food but not the service. If I could give 0 stars, I would! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TIME WASTED. As soon as I walked in I could see that one entire half of the restaurant was filled with messy tables. It seemed as though they only had one server on during prime dinner hours on a Sunday night. We waited at the door for a few minutes before even being approached, as there was no host on either. Someone eventually wiped down a table for us (because there literally wasn't one clean table) and we got sat. We sat there, looked at the menu, discussed and all figured out what we wanted and a server still hadn't approached our table. Looking around, I could not see any servers in the dining room at all. 10 minutes had passed and we began to get impatient. We ended up getting up and leaving and going through the drive thru instead where I asked to speak with a manager. She thanked me for letting her know and said she would talk to her servers but did nothing to ensure we would come back. She did not even deliver the food to us herself or make an appearance at the window. This place is poorly managed, understaffed and extremely unprofessional.
