Good food, poor service. Ordered three burgers with fries and 1 shake in the restaurant, for take out. We got the food in a reasonable time, but waited and waited and waited for the shake. I mentioned it once to the staff and was told that the shake was being done in another area. I saw several shakes just sitting on the back counter, going no where the entire time we waited. We waited some more and finally decided to leave without the shake. Getting a refund wasn't happening given the line at the cash register. Won't do this again. read more

I used to love to go to this restaurant -- back when the burgers were served hot with a ring of crisped meat around the burger itself and the fries were hot, delicious and always crispy --- never limp. Today I found that things have changed. The food is still good but nowhere near what it was when I first started going there. Horrible experience today! Ordered grilled cheese sandwich for my wife and a beef taco salad for me at the drive thru for lunch. Parked in the lot, opened the bag...and...surprise!! The grilled cheese was not cooked (cheese not even melted) and the salad had no dressing. Went inside to inform management and was greeted by a very rude young woman that was more complaining than compassionate. Whatever happened to the customer is "King". I guess these restaurants just take customer for granted as another necessary evil. Before today, we actually had good reliable service. We visited about once a month. Now, we will never return to this location. The location on Wilmington Pike provides good service. When in Miamisburg, we will just drive down 741 to Rally's. read more

What can I say about this location? A lot of things are wrong with this location. You will spend a lot time here so if your in a hurry go somewhere else. We waited a long time to be seated 10 minutes, after being seated the host said our server would be right with us, another fithteen minutes later our comes along to take our drink order wich we also forced our food order at the same time since it was taking forever. Well we waited again for our drinks then waited a lot longer for our food and refills. Also had a lot of time to read reviews and have to agree with most of them. I will NEVER go to this location again. I had ordered a chocolate milkshake through the drive thru. The shake did not taste correct at all (almost like the blenders weren't clean or flavors were mixed) so I went into the store and politely explained this to the cashier and asked if another could be made. Cashier was very nice and asked the person making shakes to make another and why. Person making the shakes was rude to the cashier and made an extremely rude and inappropriate comment about how there was now "extra chocolate" in the shake when handing new shake to me. The second shake tasted even worse than the first and I suspect the person who made the shake may have intentionally altered it somehow. I threw the shake away. The worse place I've have ever been too! I worked there for 1 month. After being a manager at another place I have expletives the worse conditions a place can have. I understand its open 24/7 but at least have staff that will clean things. The fryer is awful. I ate a triple there and became very ill the next morning. We got sat at a dirty table, pickles and food smashed on the floor. We got no silverware or napkins. The staff is never friendly, and the kitchen staff's appearance is much to be desired. Decided to drive from Wilmington, ohio to centerville ohio for some good steak and steak food. So disappointed with them! The hostess was unfriendly, walked us to the table throwed the menus down on the table and kept walking! Didn't look back. Server came and said are you ready to order and I ordered my drinks and he said "are you ready to order"! Ok then let me order. The other two in my party ordered theirs and he left. He came back and couldn't remember what we got and didn't write it down right. He sent the unfriendly hostess out with one salad that was right the other was wrong so she took both back and put them in the window...lol So I yelled across the room and told her we needed the one and another like it and to fix the other salad to a large one. Welllll here came our burgers " no salads" so we just started eating. Thennnnn one of the legs on the booth we were in felt rocky when we sat down and we figured out why. One of the legs on it was half broken and turned under so we were rocking away. The customers were laughing! I finally go them to bring my other salad, the waiter finally brought a refill on water and sodas but I never got a refill on my coffee! Decent food at a low cost. Steak N Shake is good because it is open late so if you are up late and don't want crappy fast food, stop on by.

The Frisco sauce and their special seasoning are what make it delicious. It's a good place for late night meals, but many times there are middle school and high school students here until it's their curfew. I've been coming here for years. I usually get be banana milkshake, but tried the Nutella milkshake. Both are good. Service isn't perfect but can't expect great since it is a fast food place. read more

12.30 pm on Wednesday 2013 I arrived in to Steak and Shake on Springboro pike Miamisburg ohio next to Menard's I order a lemonade and a three-way spaghetti with onions for lunch. As I proceed with eating my meal a long blonde hair emerges from the plate, I call up the waitress and the Manager. They came in and apologize of-course and reorder me the same meal with a smaller discount. Again with the next round of my plate I proceed with eating my meal a small fragment of bone poking the roof of my mouth. has always I kept my composure and calmness. This place was a joke to say the least! Took the waitress 10-15 minutes just to get a drink order and hen she brought the shakes back she didn't bring all of them so when I asked if my shake was coming (after the food already arrived) she responded with, "I don't know, I just put the order in I don't make them, do you want me to check on it?" So I politely asked her if she was my waitress and she said, "yea!" Then yes, yes please go check on my order of a shake! Our food arrived and the amount of fried given to each plate was ridiculous! I could literally count each fry on my plate, oh, and by the way, I ordered onion rings as did my aunt, northern of us got the rings. When I asked about them she responded with, "hmmmm, I guess your order was sent out through drive through!" We sat and we sat and we sat for over an hour and there was at least 3 dirty tables around us! I'm sorry but when I go out to eat I don't want to look at dirty table! Ah man, I love coming to this place whenever I visit Ohio! We don't have this in California so I'm probably one of the few that actually get excited about coming to this place when I can. They have a great selection of shakes and I like it because it's not overly sweet. I've tried their mint and strawberry shake. Both were very tasty and again, not overly sweet which is what I like. So those who have a sweeter tooth than I do, you might not like it as much as I do. Their burgers are so juicy and delicious! I love their thin cut fries as well. They've got a new thing where you can season your fries for an extra 25 cents I believe. They've got Parmesan and herbs, salt & vinegar and I forgot what the third one is - how useful, right? It is also very affordable and they've always got different deals going on. So make sure you look at the posters in front of the restaurant. From my experience, our waitresses didn't seem too social or interactive. Not saying that they weren't friendly because they were. They just took our order, checked up on us once, waited until we were done, here's your check and done. I didn't mind that; I'm just glad she checked on us at least once. Leave me to my fooooood. If I could give this place -4 points, I would. Ordered 1 chicken tenders and 3 shakes for carryout. It took 20 minutes for the shakes to arrive. Another 10 minutes wasted while they made the chicken that nobody had cooked. By that time the shakes were melted. Told the cashier (she was nice) we wanted a refund but she had no idea how to get our $ out of the register. Mike the manager didn't even come to help her when she asked. I had to call him by name from the counter to get him to handle it. He made no apologies, nothing. Oh, and the floors in the kitchen were filthy. One meal came with less then a handful of fries and my wifes chicken finger meal was smaller than the kids meal. Fries were cold. Throw the whole store out and start over. Steak 'n Shake is one of my favorite places to grab a burger(frisco melt X2) and shake. Unfortunately this location is just awful. I wanted to get my order on Saturday night but they closed after I waited in the drive through line for 25mins. The most peculiar part about that is that it is supposed to be 24hrs and it was the Saturday that fell on ST Patricks day weekend. So anyway I swing back by to quench my frisco cravings on Wednesday evening and order 2 frisco melts and a large extra thick chocolate shake. I get them home and eat the first one to satisfaction then get to the second one to find it is only 2 pieces of bread and 2 patties no cheese no sauce. I would have called to get it remade but the last time I called in an issue I was told they would get back to me and I am still waiting for that. It has been over 6 months. My husband and I meet here for lunch because he was in a hurry to get back to work and the service is usually fast here. We weren't greeted for 10 min, then the server, who was CLEARLY new, took our order and then 5-8 min later, ANOTHER server delivered our drinks and then apologized because our server was new. We ordered chili and asked for extra crackers-- never received them. Asked for napkins-- waited 5 min. Never received a refill or my extra side of dressing. Worst service experience ever. The glass my friend had was so dirty and sticky it looked like it hadn't been washed in years. I was halfway through my sandwich when I saw a bug on the lettuce. Went there at 10 pm for some burger and fries, we were the only car in the drive thru and the order was made quickly. Once I get home I see why. The fries are ICE COLD. I worked in a kitchen at a restaurant for six years, I know when food has been sitting out for a long time and these things were ancient. Big old hair in the fries as well. I also ordered a big Burford with everything on it, I open up the wrapping and it's two patties with some cheese between them.... That's it. Literally the opposite of what I ordered on my burger. I want to take it back but it's 13 degrees outside and snowing so I really don't have the energy. I worked at this location for 3 months, and it was enough for me to quit. The managers have no clue what they're doing, food and shakes sit in the window where the customers can see and I've seen shakes sit there and melt for 10 minutes. The majority of the staff never cleans, except for when it's time for them to leave, which is not enough to keep the place in shape on a regular basis. The dishes that you eat on? I've seen them come out of the industrial dish washer with food still on them and the staff will just wipe it off and use the dish again instead of rewashing it. The restaurant is way too busy for the staff to keep up with, because most of them are not trained right, you can blame management for that. I also have never seen any of the workers go to clean the bathrooms, except for maybe once while I've been in there, and all they did was sweep, and change the trash. No one washes their hands, EVER and the same sanitized wipe will get used on many different things in the restaurant while it's dirty. I would suggest not eating, or working here, or at least at this location. You're more than likely going to be disappointed with the service and the uncleanliness of the staff and the restaurant. read more
