    Steak n cheese
    Douglas S.

I came here for the first time today for lunch. The ambiance is like your typical carryout spot. I would say that they have movie posters hung up on the walls which is super cool. The cashier was super nice. Great service. I ordered 2 steak n cheese with some waffle fries and some regular fries. Total was about $30 he gave me a free can soda with my purchase which was really nice. For taste wise, the steak n cheese are typical. They are not out of this world, but good for price and all. I would come back for sure.

The meal I ordered with shrimp but arrived with NO SHRIMP whatsoever

It was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I placed the order on Uber. One meal which seems simple enough, but they forgot to include the shrimp in the steak & SHRIMP dinner! I can see maybe missing the mashed potatoes or the side of bread it comes with, but not one of the main part of the meal! Food was very good, but the lack of shrimp was quite disappointing.

Bread was very soft which liked, meat was flavorful and the options I'd asked for were evenly distributed. Place was very simple inside, more of a carry out spot than a sit down. The gentleman at the counter was very informative and polite...I'll be back again.

    Steak and Cheese Sub
    Wo W.

The cheese, mayo, and bread somehow melt together (soggy). A perfectly average sub. I ordered using Uber eats without checking the reviews. I am not disappointed nor am I impressed.

I do drive by the shopping plaza where this little gem is located and I have to stop and get it I'm not so sure about anything else on the menu, because I don't get anything else besides this.

If you skip the combo, order something from Afghanistan. I recommend one of four bolani- a flat bread with filling. The squash bolani was large, hot, and very tasty. It comes with a green salsa that is addictive. They sell different hot teas and cold drinks like water and Coca-Cola. The space itself is one medium-sized room with plenty of tables and even a highchair for babies. Service is kind.

Once inside it's nice and cool and I really love the design. Very clean, wood, industrial cafe vibes. The menu is pretty small which is good, my husband and I ordered the chicken panini, the mix bolani, and two different chai's the sheer and the sheer with Qaiymoq. We asked the nice cashier what the difference is and she said the sheer is pink and an afghan chai and the qaimoq is an Indian chai. Apparently they were out of chicken panini's so my husband instead got a steak and cheese. Everything was really good! I'd definitely come back to try other sandwiches and bolani's. They even gave us a free baklava to try :) We talked to the owners? and they were super nice. Can't wait to come back!

This time, I had placed an order for pick-up and for such a short service, my mother was treated with disrespect. The server we had, Daniel S., was extremely unprofessional. I ordered my parrillada medium rare. When I went home, most of the meat was rare. My mother called the store location to see what had happened. Our server had picked up the phone and apparently was the manager of the shift. We had let him know what had happened. Instead of offering to fix the mistake or even ask us to bring it back in (which we would've if he had asked us to), he decided to explain to my mother the terms of medium-rare and how it is "crudo", but medium-rare in spanish is medio crudo. He then, told us to google it if we wanted to know what medium rare is, like we haven't dined in at a restaurant and ordered steak medium rare before. (The image is of what most of the meat looked like in the inside and you can see we were trying to cook it more in the back) Apparently, this is not new for them to serve meat a lot more rare than they are meant to. (I saw a reviewer that had shown medium rare meat when they ordered well done. I tried contacting the business to make sure this incident doesn't occur again, but unfortunately their email address doesn't work and there is no direct number to call the store owner.

My spud that did come was delicious, toasted, and full of flavor. The sandwich was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet with the crunch of the chips on it. McAlister's recently upped their combo price... but it is still worth it for the quality of food you receive. I just wish the service was better this time. My boyfriend had introduced me to a McAlister's in Indiana, so when I'd heard we were getting one right here in Burke (yes, I'm aware of the GMU one - I hate the Braddock road traffic light, what can I say), I swung by. This place is always hoppin' but they work that line quickly. I've been here - like, what - once a week since they opened earlier this year? I think my ordered was messed up once? (if you could hear my voice you'd understand why - no one can hear me... darn these vocal chords). So that's like a RECORD - even Chick-Fil-A has messed it up more than McAllies (and that's sayin' a lot - Chick is ALWAYS on the ball). Want my recs - current feeling the Turkey BLT. Don't sleep on the French Dip sammie (their most popular). I don't like brownies, but their brookies have me in a CHOKE HOLD.

As you walked in, the restaurant/cafe is clean, spacious and comfortable. The menu is posted on the walls behind the counter with photos. I ordered 2 items: 1) Steak and cheese pita 2) White pizza. When both items arrived to the table, the white pizza which I added mushrooms and jalapenos on topped of their ingredients such as garlic, olive oil and mozzarella cheese, looked scrumptious and I can tell ya, that first bite had my taste buds jumping off my palate. The combination of all ingredients along with the cheese, sauce, airy and crispy edges of that crust, that was a perfect bite! It was SO delicious, I wasn't able to just take one bite. The steak and cheese pita, you can tell that each pita is made with pride because you can taste the freshness. They're not your typical pita breads because some are short and some are long depending on what item is selected. The protein in that pita was tender, juicy and delicious. I had excellent service by cashier Ludack, he was friendly, attentive, patient and very knowledgeable. This establishment is a family owned since 1975. If you haven't swing by, you are definitely missing out on this hidden gem. I will definitely will make another visit when I'm in the area to try more items on their menu.
