Hangry Burger in Springfield is doing something right and I need more people to know about it. I ordered the mushroom burger on a gluten-free bun with haloumi cheese and it delivered on every level. The haloumi adds this slightly salty, golden layer that takes the whole burger up a notch. The mushrooms are well-seasoned, the patty is thick, and the gluten-free bun held together like it had something to prove. The comic book theme inside makes the vibe fun and the staff keeps things moving. This is a must-visit for anyone in Northern Virginia -- gluten-free or not.

Hangry Burger in Springfield is definitely trying to shake up the burger scene. The cheeseburger, though? A little underwhelming--think more lettuce blanket than beef patty. Solid 6/10, if only for effort. The lamb burger, however, was the star of the night--my wife practically gave it a standing ovation. The fries are no joke. Sweet potato or regular, they come in portions big enough to share... though you probably won't want to. The real curveball here is the menu--it leans fusion, with rice bowls and other "didn't-expect-that-at-a-burger-place" surprises. Not a slam dunk just yet, but Hangry Burger has potential. I'd go back just to see what other wild cards they're hiding. If you're bored of the same old burger routine, this place might be your ticket. Pros: * Fries big enough to feed a small army * Quirky fusion menu * Some fresh, bold flavors Cons: * Cheeseburger was more meh than memorable * Patty was basically on a diet Recommended for: Adventurous eaters and anyone who thinks "burgers and rice bowls" belong in the same sentence.

So this place has been on my list for a long time, but it's been slightly out of our radius. Really was craving burgers and so unimpressed with gluten free options around me, so decided it was worth the drive! Menu is like Disneyland for gluten free people, onion rings. Yes, chicken tenders, yes, fried everything? Yes yes yes, variety of fries... spicy regular sweet potato... yes you can eat them all! I have never had onion rings since being gf.... Everything was really good. I got a lettuce burger which was a mess! I should have tried the gf bun! My only complaint, is this is a burger spot, without milkshakes! It's practically a crime. We will return.

Went to this burger joint after a long flight and this place hit the spot at an awesome price point. Where else can you get a yummy burger (single patty), crispy (spicy) fries, and a drink under $15 in town? Service was pretty good and ambiance was cheerful with staff all having smiles and it seemed like fun working together. My hats off to the young chef in the back cooking up a storm.

This is a neat and hip restaurant located in a little strip mall. Being that it is in a strip mall, there is tons of free parking available. The restaurant is very trendy with a colorful dining area with a decent amount of tables and chairs available to sit at. It was also very clean and hip, decorated with colorful murals and catch sayings/phrases. The restaurant a full bar with seating. The bar has adult beverages for you to choose from and there is a huge television above the bar that was playing bowling while I was there (boooooo!). There are a couple of smaller televisions mounted in the dining room as well. I found it interesting that that have a video game system that you can play while you wait. The system is an arcade game that lets you choose from all the video game classics, and it is free to play. Even though my interaction was limited, the staff was nice enough. The restaurant serves some very unique food, such as their signature Hangry Burger, Tail Spin Chicken Sandwich, Lamb Burger and the Seoul Mate Burger, which is what I got with a side of fries. They also serve shakes, wings, chicken tenders halal, and a breakfast BLT. The Seoul Mate Burger is a patty with galbi and kimchi sauce served on a bao bun.....mmmm. It was very flavorful and tasty. My meal was brought out to me in about 10 minutes after I place my order and it was fresh and hot. I highly recommend checking this joint out. I really enjoyed my meal and it also has a really cool vibe. You will not be disappointed.

My new favorite halal place in the DC area! First things first! Parking! Parking here was a breeze. Hangry Burger is located in a small strip mall so there is lots of parking. The food we had was amazing and there wasn't one item we didn't like. ( I'm saddened to see some of the bad reviews here!) we ordered the regular single burger, two shakes, the mushroom burger and onion rings and fries. The burgers were super juicy and cooked well. You can opt to have gluten free bread as well and they have other allergy friendly substitutes. The shakes were super good! The staff can make any of the boozy shakes non-alcoholic, just ask! I will be back and will be telling all my friends about this place!

Absolutely my favorite burger joint in the area. Don't tell anyone but I sneak it into the movie theater it's so good. The fries are also super flavorful and don't forget to ask for the aioli or one of their delicious sauces for dipping. Interior is retro comic book themed and there is a bar although I've never had a drink here. Service is always good and food is made fresh.

    Burger in lettuce wrap

I got a #1 The Hangry Burger Double (10oz) in a lettuce wrap with Sweet Potato Fries delivered . Burger has a good flavor but a little dry and it had tomatoes and onions that I didn't ask for, fries are good but they sent no ketchup and I asked for extra ranch on the side and I didn't get that either. Overall good flavors.

Hangry burger with sweet potato fries!

Awesome food and nice staff! Near convenient shopping areas, Home Depot, Springfield Mall.

We ordered a spread: gyoza with sweet and spicy sauce, kimchi pancakes, fried shrimp, soy garlic wings, takoyaki, LA galbi, and jjampong with noodles... plus way too many drinks. We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both taste and fun without compromise, this is it.

Unfortunately, I have not had a good service experience here. I visited a couple of times during the World Cup because of their advertised drink specials, and both visits ended with us being overcharged. When we questioned it, the staff gave what felt like the same rehearsed explanation each time. Before ordering, we specifically confirmed with our server that they were running the $5 rail drink special. By definition, a rail (or well) drink is made with the house liquor and a standard mixer. At JMT, however, you'll be charged extra for every little addition without anyone telling you beforehand. A splash of cranberry juice or tonic water resulted in additional charges that were never mentioned by either the server or the bartenders. On top of that, a 25% gratuity was automatically added despite our server being largely inattentive. Throughout the night, we repeatedly had to get up and ask for things ourselves, and not everyone at our table even received a cup for water. To make matters worse, both their menu and website clearly state that automatic gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more, yet our party of 6 was automatically charged 25%. When we brought these concerns to our server, he spoke with the manager, whose response was simply, "That's how we do things here." He explained that he wasn't familiar with the drinks because the bartenders determine the charges, and that it would be difficult to void and reprocess the bill. We were also told that they always add 25% gratuity for parties of 6 and that, in their view, a rail is simply a shot rather than a mixed well drink. Those explanations directly contradict both common industry terminology and the information advertised on their own menu and website. I understand that restaurants and bars get busy, and mistakes happen. What was disappointing was being told that they've been operating this way for a long time instead of acknowledging the inconsistencies or updating their advertised policies. That reflects poor management more than an isolated mistake. It doesn't feel good to invite friends somewhere only to have everyone end up paying more than expected because the advertised specials and gratuity policies don't match what is actually charged. I can't say how often this happens, but after experiencing it on multiple visits, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your bill carefully before paying.

Those two types of meats were all I tried and honestly that is all you need. The grills had to be changed after every round of meat, but the workers were very quick about replacing it. Their corn cheese, egg, and soup were also pretty good. The restaurant can hold a decent number of people and large groups as well as smaller groups. I would come back again as this is a good deal in this area for a $36/person dinner. Lunch is $25 per person during weekdays 11 am -3 pm. Lunch on weekends and holidays for $28/person.
