There were no exclusions mentioned in the email, but he said management had told them. He said he's try to put it in anyway and see if it worked, and asked how that steak should be prepared. When our meals came mine was complete, but our veteran's meal only had a baked potato without the steak. The waiter then said that he thought she only wanted a baked potato, and he ran to get the missing steak prepared. By time it arrived of course, my dinner was complete (an entrée my wife was not interested in sharing), and she had eaten her baked potato. They packed her steak to go, included a new baked potato, and brought a plate of complimentary and still-frozen cheesecake as an apology. As expected... when they come, the steaks are excellent. The loaded baked potato was very good, and the parmesan mashed rather dry.

We were sat at a private booth overlooking the wine selection, open kitchen, and dry-aged beef display. Host greeted us, acknowledged the reservation and anniversary. The server did the same as soon as he arrived. ‍ Matt was our server; his global wine expertise helped provide guidance through pairing drinks with our meal. I also love when a server is opinionated on what to order, how to order it, and what to pair together... following his suggestions was a highlight of our experience. He immediately suggested when to order based on how long things take to cook - huge plus in my book so you are aware of pace and can order accordingly. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail and Hamachi Crudo... while the Hamachi isn't something we typically order, the quality was fantastic and such a treat. The Shrimp Cocktail... is simple, its itself, but the size and cocktail sauce, fresh flavor made it a perfect choice. Next we had 3oz of the A5 Wagyu with the recommended Shoyu sauce... perfection. Glad we listened to Matt on this one. We also shared the Prime NY Strip with another Matt recommended sauce... fantastic. We always order our meat Medium Rare, came out exactly that. Misleading Advertising & Terrible Customer Service…read more Extremely disappointing experience, especially since I booked this restaurant for our wedding anniversary based on the beautiful ambience they heavily advertise on social media. What they DON'T show is the other dining room we were seated in -- plain tables and chairs, almost diner-like, with none of the ambience shown online. It felt incredibly misleading. I explained to the front desk that it was our anniversary and politely asked to be moved to the nicer area. They were rude, dismissive and completely unapologetic. Instead, we were told we could come back in 1.5 hours. Their explanation was also contradictory: first, both areas are supposedly the same "main dining room" and cannot be distinguished when making a reservation, but then we were told the nicer area was fully reserved. So apparently guests can't choose the advertised dining area, but somehow it can be "fully reserved"? If you're booking this restaurant for the beautiful ambience you see online, beware -- that may not be where you're seated. Poor hospitality, misleading presentation and a terrible way to treat guests celebrating a special occasion. We won't be back.

The interior is glass on two sides, so it very bright, and appointed with comfy chairs with waist-high dividers around the bar and small table area. My friend arrived at 5:15 as promised and we were escorted to a table further down the building. The bartender brought my bill to the table later, and I asked if it could be added to the total but he said no. I had read about the pimento cheese wontons, so we decided to try those as a starter. They arrived hot and dressed with a red pepper jelly sauce. (Not too hot, a nice foil to the pimento cheese!) My friend liked them as well. Neither of us are eating large meals these days, so we opted to share an entree. We decided on the NY Strip steak ($38) which comes with smoked potato au gratin and collard greens. We tried to sub the greens for anything else, and the only other option was Brussels sprouts. (Green beans? Broccoli? Asparagus? Anything else? Nope, just stinky stuff.) So, stinky veggies were the only option. (We asked the waiter not to bring them, but they arrived anyway, and we had someone remove them quickly!) The potato's turned out to be more a chunky soup, rather than a casserole, but were tasty. Just difficult to share. (No spoons were offered for the soup!) The steak was phenomenal. Cooked to perfection (rare/medium rare) with a nice finishing sauce, and was just enough. Somehow, that steak, the wonton app ($11) and a regular house marg were billed at $88 after tax, which meant over $100 with tip, but I was enjoying my friend's company too much to dispute the bill. After I left, I did the math and figure they charged extra for something in there. But I was gone and never take the receipt, because most waitstaff do a good job of putting info into the POS system. Maybe I need to reassess my trust of waitstaff data entry. Suffice it to say this will not be a regular spot I go to. Stinky veggies, poor data entry and sides that can't easily be shared made for a sour first impression.
