We have an old Mr Steam system (10++ years) that shut down recently. After giving us a fair estimate for diagnostic visit Randy of Steam Diego came out today, checked our whole system and fixed the problem efficiently for the diagnostic price. Keyword: quality. Now the long story...I called SteamDiego when my 28-year-old Mr. Steam unit stopped working. I knew it was time for a new unit. Doug came out and assessed the whole situation and gave me a proposal for a new Steamist unit. I thought the price was a bit high but I also believed it was worthwhile to pay more to get quality work by experts in steam units. That is exactly what I got. Steve and Doug spent the good part of a day removing the old unit and putting a new unit in. Very clean plumbing and electrical work! I tested the unit for 1 month and it just did not give off steam to my satisfaction. I called Steve and he wanted to do whatever it would take to make me happy. He upgraded the unit to the next size higher and put in a larger circuit breaker. Doug came out and did the change out...a few more hours. They only charged me for the difference in price between the two units. No additional labor. During this whole process, there were regular follow-up messages and clear communications. read more

We've been having unusual problems with our steam unit and were told repairs were going to require ripping everything out and starting all over. I called Steve and told him what was happening and sent him some photos. He took the time to actually examine things and he identified what the issue was right away. Long story short, my steam shower was not working correctly and after several attempts to fix using other plumbers, my contractor contacted Steve Gerber of SteamDiego who was recommended by Thermasol, the manufacturer. He was able to diagnose and repair very quickly which was greatly appreciated. A few months later, I encountered what I believed were new issues and called Steve back for advice. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone over several days trying to figure out what might be wrong hoping to save me the cost of a visit. It worked and turned out to be my own lack of understanding of the settings. Brilliant service. I've had a hair pulling issue for the last two weeks. I've a Thermasol generator that had just been factory serviced for mineral buildup. I had re-installed the unit and it was working, getting hot, but not making visible steam. This was very frustrating. Previously the steam had been so thick that I couldn't see my hand with my arm outstretched. Now it was a steamy as a warm shower- basically not at all. The unit just seemed to be putting out hot air. To say I was disappointed and confused is a real understatement. I had spoken with the company a couple of times, but their advice was not helpful. I was sure I needed to send it back to the factory. Then I remembered Steve. I had spoken to Steve somewhere- (a restaurant?) a few years back and had enjoyed our conversation- He's a steam geek! Maybe I needed to talk to him-a Pro? A local provider who lives this everyday and services all types of machines. I called Steve, he was very patient with me as I related my story of woe. When I was finished with my recitation, Steve had a question or two. We talked about system functions in general and he offered up a quick lesson in steam physics. He gave me a oddly simple solution to try. He wanted me to call him back with the results. I called him back in five minutes! I had thick thick steam!
