I wanted to give this company zero stars, but that wasn't an option. They not only told me they would arrive at 11 am, but then they tried to argue to next day saying that they told me 10 am. I clearly remember them sweating the time frame from 11 am to 1 pm, so I set my schedule for the rest of the day accordingly. They ended up going to another job first, resulting in them arriving hours later than anticipated, throwing off the rest of my day. After that, they even apparently used a $35 stain removal, which didn't even work. I wasn't there to see them apply it, so it could be that they didn't even apply it at all. I asked if they could waive the charge since the stain wasn't removed, and they refused, not even offering a discount as an apology for their timing mistake AND failure to remove the stain (which was the main reason we even hired them in the first place). i've yet to find a carpet cleaning company that isn't full of swindlers.... I used a valpak coupon for "whole house package" for $77. apparently your "whole house" doesn't include the air return, because i got charged another $45. They did throw in 2 rooms of carpet cleaning. I added another room and a hallway for $55. However, the 2 rooms of carpet cleaning do not include pretreater....this was another $18 per room. Total: $230. Meh. Not bad, but it's not $77. The fast talker tried to get me to sign up for "HVAC sanitation service" basically he wanted to go into my heater and 'sanitize' it. whatever that means. i said no. he was pissed. I told him my HVAC is under warranty and only my HVAC man is allowed in there. He tried telling me there were bugs and dust in there and that the HVAC man can't 'sanitize' in there. I told him i didn't care and that I wanted the ducts only cleaned. The way they clean the ducts is by attaching a round brush to a vacuum with a long tube and just pushing it up the vents. i don't know how thorough this is.... the carpets were VERY wet after the steam cleaning. Pros: ~they called when they were on their way ~they were done within 1.5 hours Cons: ~they just left my hose randomly in my yard and flooded my driveway ~trying to upcharge me left and right ~they didn't wear shoe covers and got my wood floors all dirty ~very wet carpets after cleaning if you can spare the money i'd recommend going with someone more professional like coit or stanley steamer. read more

Bait and switch methods! I made an appointment with a $77 Valpak coupon. At no time did the person taking the appointment ever inform me that the cleaning didn't include the main return or unit. The fine print on the coupon states the whole unit, which is misleading. The technician started by asking questions about the last time we had the vents cleaned, allergies, etc. He then stated that it would cost $25-45 more to clean the main duct and unit. He was at least upfront about the costs. Not his fault. I called Steam Express back and got the standard answers for my questions. Even though I requested to cancel the order, the rep kept insisting on the appointment and even suggested I should have asked questions when I made the appointment. Steam Express advertised on the local Community Impact Newspaper about their Special on Air Duct and 3 room carpet Cleaning for $65. Well, I made an appointment and they showed up late this afternoon. I just told them that I only wanted the ducts to be cleaned and to forget about the carpets. They did that part but instead of charging me $65 I was changed $101.99. Here, I am thinking that I was going to be charged for the Special. But, was charged an additional of $29 for cleaning of the Return Air section. I didn't wanted to argue so I just paid them. Oh, before I forget they didn't even tell me that they were going to connect their machine to my water hose too. Well, to make things worst their connection had a leak. I just had them come for the ValuePak coupon to do the 10 vent cleaning. The man was very unprofessional (he walked in and left our front door wide open, wore his mask around his chin, etc). Luckily we had someone here that knew about vent cleaning and was able to tell us we were about to be scammed after listening to their tec. The tec insisted that he would clean all air vents "from the top / main unit" not from down below, which was not what I understood on the phone call when I made the appointment. We also just checked the coupon, and it specifically states FROM THE OUTSIDE in. The only reason this matters is because you can't verify they are doing "what they say" they are doing. His reply when I asked him to clean from downstairs up is that we would have to "trust them" that is what their firm does. After looking at reviews on YELP is was clear I didn't want to trust them. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never felt more cheated. I was hesitant about using a coupon for air duct cleaning and two rooms steam cleaned all for $65, and I should have trusted my gut. I told the receptionist how many units I have and amount of vents. She assured me it was $65 for 10 vents, $12 for each vent after that, $35 for each return vent that needed cleaning, and $18 for extra deep cleaning on the carpets. Overall, I estimated around $115. When they arrived, they told me it was $65 for each unit, which covers 20 vents. Next, they told me that the systems were extremely dirty and had mold. Within the first 20 minutes, my price went from approximately $115 to over $600. To top it off, they called their manager three times to discuss giving me a "better" deal and to verify the amounts I was quoted (which he said was wrong). After turning down the extra services multiple times, I finally got them to leave nearly three hours later. Of course, I was charged $275 for cleaning 12 air ducts, three return vents, and steam clean of carpets. Nice job, steam express. You are a master swindler. On a side note, I scheduled my appointment between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. They called me at 11:45 a.m. and said they were 10 minutes away. Awesome job communicating. read more

I definitely would not recommend this company for carpet or furniture cleaning. I had my furniture ( which is only a couple of years old) cleaned and one bedroom as we were moving out of a rental house and into our own house. The bedroom carpet and furniture were very wet afterwards and took forever to dry. The next day the bedroom smelled so bad that the whole house stunk for at least the rest of the time we were in the house. We had fans in the room to try and dry it faster. After the tech was done cleaning and packed up and almost out of my driveway, I had to have them come back in and redo part of my furniture and the room because they left the edges of the floor with hair and dirt and also didn't spot treat to get spots out. It has been two weeks, but we were moving and I couldn't call them to come and fix the problem because we were no longer in that house. Now we are moved into our new house and my furniture smells worse than it did when we started. It smells like my dog went and rolled in a dead animal carcas and came in and sat on my couch. When calling the company, they only guarantee their work for 1 week regardless of the situation. Now I have to spend another $150 to have someone else come to clean my furniture again. Their reason was that I probably didn't have enough air circulation. I would like to know how many fans I should have to dry my furniture after it's been cleaned? Steam Express is horrible. One guy worked and the other guy just sat on our couch. They quoted us one price on the phone, and then when they got here the price was about 100$ more than they quoted. We called the office and the boss "David" told my husband one thing, but then when I got home they tried to tell me somthing else and charge me the higher price. So, like many others I was blinded by the coupon that came in the mail for air duct cleaning and two free carpet cleanings. I'm usually one for a good deal and we needed the vents cleaned and had been wanting the carpet in the living room professionally cleaned for some time now. I figured "what the heck, two birds one stone". However, I feel like I was hit with two stones myself. Two people showed up at my house on 1/31/18 after calling to let us know they would be here soon. Cool, appreciated the warning so I could throw some real clothes on and get my house kind of straight so they wouldn't realize what a mess I am. Anyway, this nice lady, Natasha, comes in with a man who wasn't fluent in English. She translated a lot of things for us and I appreciated that. She was the person dealing with us and he was the guy doing the work. They weren't in our house for very long before telling us that we have mold and they "have to" do a proper mold cleaning. Told us how it needed to be done as soon as possible because of how bad it was. Showed us what we thought looked like mold, as well. We couldn't see in the main unit, but she assured us that it was heavily in there. We rent and have to speak to the owner of the house about such issues. The lady pushed for us to do so, and even spoke to the property management place for us. She was pushy with them as well, telling them that the business is based in Houston now due to hurricane Harvey and all the work they need to do there. She quoted prices and it was a little over $1,000 for all that she said we needed. All the while the man was cleaning our vents. Naturally this worried all of us, because mold is serious business. So, okay. We have "mold" super bad, but you continued to "clean" the vents. Seemed a little odd to me, but okay, sure. So now we have the owner of the house looking to come up with a solution quickly because mold is serious. She told us it was illegal for them to ignore it. She didn't mention that it's also illegal for them to say it's definitely mold without testing it. I've had TWO different air duct companies out since they've left and they both told us that. She told me that the coupon didn't include air returns. And we had three. I showed her on the coupon where it says it includes one, and she charged me for the other two, $25 a piece. Whatever, needed to be done, right? The whole job or nothing at all. Except, despite me asking her before they did any work to please talk numbers to me, because I'm on a budget. I mean, I only called them because I had a coupon for Pete's sake. She had the guy go ahead and do the work and then asked me if that was okay. Well, I guess so since it's already done. $136.48 for a job that was supposed to have been $77. The carpet cleaning was the last thing they did. And it was only the living room because she said it equaled two rooms. Fine cool. She did help us move some furniture out of the room and informed us that the carpet would take 5-7 hours to dry. Whoa. 5-7 HOURS to dry?! Even when you steam clean the carpets yourself, you aren't supposed to soak it so bad that it takes that long to dry. Explain to me how you're so busy because of the flooding and Harvey, if your "job" is to soak carpets and leave them in worst condition than you found them? I don't understand that at all. We went ahead with the service because it was "free" and I was already in the hole for $137, so why not. After they left, I put two box fans in the living room and towel dried what I could because the carpet was absolutely completely SOAKED. There's no excuse for that. It was clean, but it was ridiculously wet. AND! They left a mess behind them. Piece of an air vent on the floor, dust and paint chips from the ceilings and everything on the floors and furnitures. Fast forward to today, 2/8/18, we had an air duct guy out for the mold that was supposedly found, and he came in looked in all the vents. He informs us that the other company shouldn't have told us it was mold, and he didn't think it was as bad as they made it out to be. Legally they cannot tell you that you have mold without properly testing for it. He also let us know that the air unit they "cleaned" was full of dust bunnies and dirt. This man is going to come out and properly clean our units, as they weren't done correctly through Steam Express. Natasha was nice enough, personable... but she's pushy. She tried really hard to upsale us, told us about the ultraviolet light you can buy to make sure your vents are clean, and informed us that we have mold when we don't. Even if we had mold, why would you continue to clean the vents? The vents appear clean from what we can see, if we take the vent covers off and look in them. But the return isn't clean. I've used them three times and the last two times they were not efficient as the first. They've always charged me for three rooms as they did not move furniture so the square footage is less. I was charged for 6 rooms! My wife was there and didn't know any better. I got home from work and immediately called the office. I regret using this company for air duct cleaning about a month and a half ago. Like other reviewers I used them because of the ValuPak coupon I received in the mail. They came and left within thirty minutes. They didn't clean all of the air ducts and tried to tell me they cleaned a couple through the another vent and then they said through the attic, when I questioned them. They also left screws from some of the air vents on the carpet. Good thing we don't have pets or small children. The week before I had used them for carpet cleaning. I scheduled both services at the same time. They cleaned the carpets well enough, I suppose, but the service person was rude to my elderly mother when she was trying to determine which rooms should be cleaned, which I really don't appreciate. He mocked the way she spoke. I called to complain twice and their answering service told me someone would get back to me. No one has. B/c he could smell I had dogs and knew I had dogs right when he walked in (but he didn't say this until after I told him I had dogs). He was very pushy even after I said no. Total start to finish AFTER I made them redo the first room was 25 minutes... Never again...... It's now 11:32pm. They told me my carpets would be dry in 4-5 hours. It's now been 12 and I can't walk on them yet... UPDATE: There was so much water left in my carpets it took 3 days to fully dry. After they were dry they felt "Krispy" to a bare foot... A week after the cleaning I can't tell they were even done. The areas that showed wear (only 2 year old carpet so very little wear) look like they did before. Scam!! This is for Air duct cleaning. I actually thought I was calling a different company because I DID NOT want to use this company due to their horrible reviews. Turns out Airduct-express of Houston and Steam Express are the same company. They set my appointment for 2-6. They called to tell me they couldn't get out to me until 5 pm and asked if I'd still want them to come in which I told them they could come another day if they wished but the other day they chose was Sunday morning (which is a terrible time for us) and when I asked how long it would take they asked how many systems I had. Once I said I had 3 they must have decided I was worth their time to go ahead and come at 5:00. They show up at my door and about 4 men all start walking in the house. One with a clipboard and the others with drills and ladders. The one with the clipboard did introduce himself but then proceeds to come in and ask me to fill out the paperwork and sign it without even writing any prices on it. Then he comes and sits on my couch in the living room while I'm standing watching 2 small children. I was using a coupon for $79 air-duct cleaning and was told I could just use the coupon per system. So I thought ok it'll be $79 x 3. No big deal. Well the tech starts writing and he writes $79 x 3 per unit and then 35 x 3 for each return vent. That is what I call and tell my husband. So their was the first surprise charge. All while the other men are running all over my house with their shoes on and ladders and taking all the vent covers off before I had even okayed anything. So my husband gets home and gets ready to pay and the invoice states it will be $1661.63! This is their breakdown. $79 x 3 for vaccuuming $35 x 3 for return vents $200 per unit for sanitizing. (Please note that their website has an asterisk at the bottom of the page that says they are currently NOT sanitizing any air ducts or vents) $199 x 2 for apparently finding mold on 2 units $65 x 3 for a 70% discount of mold prevention This company does not care about their customers only about making money no matter how dishonestly they come by it. They were rude and disrespectful. My husband and I own and run and plumbing company and work VERY hard to make our clients happy and satisfied with our services. The tech referenced our owning a plumbing company and says "Come on man I know what plumbers charge and this isn't nothing" $1661 for an hour and a half of messy, rude, pushy guys in my house (who left all our old dusty filters on the floor in our living room) MAYBE doing what they are supposed to be is not "nothing"! IF one of our employees did this to a customer you better be sure we'd be ready to make it right as soon as possible. However, we talked to the manager and he was incredibly rude. They were trying to charge tax on top of the invoice price. Which, by the way, in Texas you are NOT allowed to charge tax on residential services ONLY on parts or material. Complete rip off. The guy named Dani was extremely rude. Yes, it's the famous tall guy with the thick Israeli accent. He didn't even make eye contact when I said hi smiling. Instead, he immediately asked me how many vents in the house without even introducing himself. He tried to sell me extras in a very pushy way, as if he's doing me a favor to come and clean them. He was preaching that I should change the filters every 2 months and get the ducts cleaned every year. Thank you for the advice, but I won't call you next time. I'm going to have to remove 2 stars from them, as I initially gave this company a 5-Star Google rating on their carpet cleaning service for March 23, 2020. According to the ValuPak coupon, they had a special offer for 5 rooms at $147. To sweeten the deal, they also offered an additional 5% discount for US Vets. I had to leave the house for an appt, but prior to leaving, I instructed the team on which areas to clean. I must admit that I was taken aback at the crew hooking their hose to my water faucet. At any rate, I notified my husband, who was in our office working from home. When I returned, I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent job of cleaning, but even more surprised at the $272 invoice! There was an additional charge for deep cleaning and deodorizing. Even more surprising was the US Vet discount that wasn't factored in the total. I contacted them the very next day to request a price adjustment. Mateo asked me to fwd him a copy of the invoice, which I did. I never heard from him again. I know 5% isn't much, but it's the principle. Don't make that promise if you don't intend to abide by it. I am now starting to notice the areas that were once cleaned, looking dingy again. Made an appointment for someone to come out for a warranty cleaning. No one showed up. Called the office they said they had issues with the computer scheduling. Made another appointment for the next day no one showed up. Called the office again they said someone came but NO ONE showed up. They didn't even leave a note that they came. Set another appointment. Lets see how this goes. Phone service was great, but overall I paid a lot of money for their air duct cleaning service to complain about this bullsh*t. read more

Like most carpet cleaning companies that do ValPak coupons, they try to upcharge you on all kinds of things when they arrive at your house, trying to scare you with mold horror stories. We hired them to do duct and carpet cleaning. A supervisor/up sales person arrived with 3 workers. You only get 10 vents cleaned with the coupon, and have to pay a separate $45 charge per air return. The total cost was $564 compared with $235 which would have been the coupon price. They claimed that they put a high suction hose with a brush all the way down the vents to the junctions, but they only vacuums around the opening of the vent. Carpets were wet after cleaning and took about 8 hours to dry. Would not recommend. Was a very annoying experience. read more

Save yourself a ton of heartache and don't let this company in your house. I moved into a new house and wanted to have the grout and vents cleaned, and liked the cheap price espoused on a coupon. First the floors.... Whatever they used to clean the grout splashed up and wrecked my brand new stainless steel appliances. I have tried everything to get the chemical rusty stains out, even paint thinner when no normal cleaners worked. The stains remain. The paint along the baseboards is also ruined, chipped and peeling along the entire perimeter. The tech was extremely sloppy. Speaking of perimeters, they didn't have a measuring tape, so had to estimate the square footage, total rip off. They moved my heavy sectional and carpet to clean the grout, then told me it needed to dry before I could put it all back. When I asked them to put it back, they asked me for towels to dry the floor, and ended up using my personal bath towels to dry the floor. Really weird. They tried to sell me a super expensive mold removal sanitization that luckily I didn't go for. All together, I was charged over $800 for vent cleaning and grout cleaning for two rooms. Don't even think about it, definitely go elsewhere. read more

please avoid. they barely cleaned the vents, just vacuumed around the surface & only went as long as arms length in. They scratched my floors & left the place dirty. They left in a hurry once I did not agree to the extra work. They left one of my vents hanging off and a my ceiling slightly damaged. huge waste of money and time. They also start up-charging you the moment they get there...$85 coupon quickly became $1227 which I did not agree to. i did not feel good about having these guys in my home. read more
