It started with a high pressure sales tactic, which included bringing the crew to what was supposed to be a quote. Then after he broke me down and I let them start the air duct cleaning, I found out that it would be another $2500 to include the cleaning and disinfecting of the vent covers! The other company I had contacted includes that in the duct cleaning. They were supposed to brush the vent covers, but didn't. It made me sick to watch them put the dirty vent covers back up, especially since several of them were starting to grow a little mold. They failed to put down any drop cloths, so I ended up with debris all over my furniture, bed, floors and carpets--even the dishes in the drain rack. They charge differently for cleaning the return(s). Though their website said $25-$65, they charged me $239 for the returns. I finally got the owner to return my call after 10 days, he offered to send them back to clean up the mess they left, but by then I was so angry I didn't want them back in my house, plus I had cleaned up most of it. I wish I could turn back time and kick the salesman out of my house and use a different company! read more

Had an Appt yesterday for 3-7pm. Called around 3:30pm asking if I could get an estimated time of arrival so that I could work around dinner with my family. Front desk girl said she would call me back with the Tech's number so I could contact him to check his schedule. I then receive no call back. Called back several times and she never answered. She then texts me from the main number to say the Tech will let me know 30 min before he is on his way. I called again with no answer and then she just went silent on me. No communication or answering of phones. I finally texted back to say if I can't talk to someone, then I need to cancel. No response and no show. Not sure how you operate without proper communication with clients. Do not recommend, soley based on first impression of terrible communication and reliability. read more

After discovering mold growing out of one of our vents, we used Angie's List to call 5 companies for quotes. TakeAir was the only company that took several pictures of the vent and actual AC unit. Avi sat and talked with my husband and I about the problem, explained our options, and pricing, including warranties. They had the longest warranties for their services, which gave use the impression that they back their work. We scheduled with them on Thanksgiving (yes, they were available for us to contact with any questions). They came out Sunday and worked diligently from 10:30am-3pm. They covered our furniture and belongings to ensure that it wouldn't get dirty. They took our vents off and washed them, cleaned the boxes, intakes, ducts and unit. After washing, they sanitized and installed the UV light system to prevent the problem from occurring again. They cleaned up afterwards. The smell of our house is wonderful after they used their organic solution. We are extremely pleased from the initial call, schedule for quote, questions, schedule for job, and actual job. Francisco and his helper came out and did an "evaluation" to clean my ducts and dryer vent. After telling my HVAC system was less than a month old and having an air quality test done, he told me that I had mildew and mold in my ducts and needed to be sanitized for an extra $399. If I were you, I would NOT hire this company. I hired TakeAir to clean my A/C ducts. They stated they would clean all vents from the bottom (inside the room) up through the duct toward the attic and from the attic down. I have a 2-story home where the den is open to the 2nd floor. The vents in that area that were not near the upstairs ledge, were not cleaned from the bottom. They brought no ladders to reach vents that were outside of their reach and didn't communicate to me that they didn't clean them until I asked before they left. They took the vent covers outside to wash them, and didn't have the proper cleaning products. I had to provide the bleach. They told me I had mold in my vents, so I ended up paying them $6000 to clean the ducts and remediate the mold. Once the supervisor on the job received the payment, he left his workers to do the job and I never saw him again. They also stated that they would provide me with before & after pictures. Although I have emailed, called and texted them over a few days requesting the before & after pics, I never received them. My attempts to contact them have been ignored. read more

So in the beginning they were very professional and on time and then they checked everything and were ready to give us the quote. Since my husband was on a call from work I asked Francisco to give me the estimate so far so good. Then he told me that he'd rather wait for my husband when I insisted he started mansplaining that I won't understand what he's talking about and spoke to me like a child! After finally giving me the quote they left. After a while I noticed that the A/c had suddenly stopped working, absolutely no air coming out.. and and the temperature in the house was rapidly rising! My husband couldn't reach the technician so we finally got a hold of his supervisor. He said he'll try and reach them to ask them to come back. Whenever I would call they would be like " oh we've told him, but he's on a job so you need to wait". So we're sitting in the sweltering heat and waiting for them to call back. Finally we couldn't take it anymore and went on YouTube to see if we could figure something out ! Finally we found that THEY had turned off the switch which controls the fan and compressor!! I understand that they were at another job.. but they're 3 of them! The least you could do, when a customer is having a emergency that you created, you could at least send one person back to fix the problem !! It summer in Houston and it took them 5 hours to get back to us!! . If this is their level of customer service, they are not getting my business and will strongly advise not to get them any either!! read more

I appreciate the honesty and scheduled an appointment. Avi came with his crew-very professional and knowledgeable . Avi found the problem and explained step by step what needed to be done.the price was not cheep and I did not feel pressured to do the job right then so I told them I'll think about it. After some research I fount that everything he said was exactly what is recommended and the price was reasonable do I called back to schedule and they came the next day And worked between 4-6 hours. My dryer was heating but not drying so I called a couple places for a dryer vent cleaning. This place was $130, $30 more than others, but was able to come out the fastest and I was under the impression it included a dryer cleaning (it didnt) so I went with them. They quoted to arrive at 2-4pm and i stressed earlier would be better but they arrived past 6. They cleaned the vent but my dryer still wasn't working. Turns out I needed the dryer cleaned out. He said it would be $150 to clean the dryer. That's worth more than my dryer so, nope. I called some other place to quote on cleaning the dryer and they quoted $120 to clean the vent and the dryer. ): I know for sure the receptionist said it included more than just a vent cleaning. But when the technician arrived he said it only included the vent cleaning. So idk, I was too tired to argue. lol read more

This company is fantastic. For the first time in at least two years, I can breathe in my house. After I went to doctor after doctor and had test after test, getting sicker all the time, my husband found Take Air who are experts on indoor air pollution. They came and tackled this house, spraying first then the next day scouring every inch of every duct, then disinfecting it all. It took a few days to fully dry out, given Houston's humidity, but, finally...clean wholesome air, sound sleep, energy returned and mental clarity. Think twice before using Take Air!!! I contacted Take Air to clean my AC ducts and was told over the phone that it would be $85 for the service. When the technician arrived at my house, he told me that I had mold in my AC unit and that it would cost over $1,400 to clean. When I told them I wanted to get a second opinion, the tech wanted to collect $100 for coming to inspect my system ($50 per AC unit). They failed to mention this cost up front when I booked the appointment. When I said I would just go ahead with $85 duct cleaning (which actually ended up being $170 for two units... another thing they failed to mention), he REFUSED to provide the service, instead insisting that he HAS TO do the mold cleaning for $1,400+. He also was quite unfriendly when we began to indicate we did not want him to provide the service. Finally, I relented and agreed to do the full cleaning. After several hours, the crew left and we realized they did not clean a few of our vents. We had to call them back to complain and he insisted they cleaned all the vents. But when the tech returned, there were several vents that were not cleaned that he needed to clean. Many of the vents had paint ripped off of them or off the adjacent walls, which of course the crew did nothing to fix. I learned my lesson the hard way, but hopefully you don't have to go through the troubling (and expensive) ordeal I did. UPDATE: I did receive a set of pictures that appeared to be taken on a phone that day. It only took them over a month to provide. Regardless, it doesn't change the negative experience. read more

I wish I could give Take Air a higher rating for their professionalism and their Sunday availability. I originally hired the company to clean the duct behind my clothes dryer. They opened up the AC system and found it very dirty. They gave me a spiel on how they could clean and sanitize the HVAC ducts. While I did indeed need to have them cleaned, I was told it would take three or four hours for the treatment and that I could leave during the process. Did they tell me it would take that long so that they could justify the $1,615 charge? When Judah came for the actual cleaning, he said it would take between 30 minutes and one hour. There were shoe track marks left on my floor by the AC. I felt taken in being charged that much for a brief service. They offer a three-year warranty whick includes inspection for mold and mildew. They came today, Sunday, Feb 7th. Avi took the time and explained in detail the what, how and why. I can tell he is a perfectionist. He did a super job and left everything very clean and neat. We have been using TakeAir services since September 2016, when they came to inspect the air ducts and the drier vent line in our 4-year old house. The inspection revealed accumulation of mold in our air ducts and lint blockage in drier vent line. Their original scope of work included: releasing blockage in the drier vent; full mold treatment (with before and after pics) of our both HVAC units (specifically, brushing and vacuuming return lines, blowers, vacuum heaters, plenum box, all ducts, registers, vent covers); installing 2 UV lights (to prevent mold growth). All work was performed very thoroughly. A year after they sent their technician Avi to warranty inspect HVAC units. Avi inspected all air ducts, drier vent line, showing me the results of inspection. He even discovered and brought to my attention the inoperable condition of a drier vent booster fan which we replaced thanks to his observance.
